Apara is a small and nearly unnoticeable hamlet that lay at a set of crossroads in Isonhound, on a marshy coast where the forest becomes humid and thick with swamp.
History[edit | edit source]
In 825 PR, the hags known as The Mothers could be found frequenting Apara, sending heroes on missions nearby.
After the leader of the town went missing, The Protectors of the People sent heroes to investigate. There they learned that the town's master Val'Nilla Sombodi, had disappeared, seemingly for reasons related to the candy given out by The Mothers.
Val also had a son named Gregory who had gone missing a year ago. Gregory had gotten in with a death cult that was tangential to the reign of The Mothers. At it's most powerful, the cult had seduced Gregory to join the "Dark Lord", a creature known as The One That Waits. Part of the cult's rituals including killing Val'Nilla.
