The Gutter Throne is a nightmarish level of the Abyss where flesh and bile are the only laws of nature. Its landscapes are built not of stone, but of swollen organs, boiling skins, and slick rivers of acidic bile that carve paths through mountains of rotting tissue. The ground twitches beneath every step, pulsing like muscle, and walls of fused carcasses rise into grotesque spires that ooze with pus and reek of decay. In the heart of this grotesque realm looms the throne itself, a monumental structure of bone, sinew, and stitched-together monstrosities, eternally weeping bile into the lakes below. From this seat, the demon lady reigns as both mother and architect of horrors, birthing endless chimeric abominations from the flesh of her domain and casting them into the realm of Quelmar to spread her corruption. Demons of this realm are chimeric abominations of different monsters, twisted and mutated. But they have a better fate then those experimented on by Ozythra, who are turned into pustule groaning miles of hungry meat. |

Ozythra the Sloughing Flesh is a powerful Demon Lord from the Abyss, a realm of chaos, pain, and madness. She rules over the layer of the Abyss known as the Gutter Throne, a realm of pulsating flesh and bile where nightmarish monsters are born. Her goals are to share her dreams of the writhing flesh with the realm and to gain the title of the Demon Queen.
Physical Appearance[edit | edit source]
Ozythra is a massive monstrosity of a demon of constantly shifting shape depending on her preferences. She possesses the ability to transform herself into other creatures, but her true form is something that brings madness when beheld. Long octopus-like tendrils lash out from her bloated gut while large clawed hands more befitting a bestial ogre hang by her sire. Serpentine maws on the end of long necks gnash at the air hungry for food while on a long insectoid abdomen above it all is the cool and calm mask of the Queen of the Gutter Throne. With the ability to transform her flesh and the mutations brought upon be demonic ichor, Ozythra looks like an amalgamation of many different monsters
Personality[edit | edit source]
When she speaks to mortals who can resist going mad at the sight of her, Ozythra sounds calm and confident. She rarely gives up her true aims and will indulge mortals much like a cat plays with their food. It is unknown if this personality is simply a front for Ozythra though, as other demons and those of fiendish mines instead know her as a ravenous and heartless monster that seeks only her own power and pleasure. She is rarely of one mind, constantly shifting between ideas and thoughts just as she does forms. While her ability to mimic the appearance of other creatures would be useful in the hands of more strategic fiends, Ozythra's chaotic nature makes long term planning on her end more difficult. Her greatest shortcomings is that she will always take the short form satisfaction of causing a mortal to suffer, by either warping their flesh into something utterly alien, or by assuming their bodies into her own.
History[edit | edit source]
While not ranking among the oldest demons to ever live, Ozythra has ruled her layer of the Abyss for centuries. Few dare to challenge her rule over the Gutter Throne, her layer of the Abyss, but yet even fewer will call her a friend or ally. But that is natural for most demons. Ozythra has long had a rivalry with the demoness known only as Mother, as both seek to claim the title of the Demon Queen.
The Demonic Infiltration[edit | edit source]
In 120 PR, the hubris of mortal mages pushing the bounds of magic left the doorway open to the Abyss, letting many demons and demon lords sneak through into the realm of Quelmar. Ozythra emerged from an Abyssal rift on the continent of Amusa, in the isolated countryside of Luggland, a bountiful land populated primarily by Halfling folk. Ozythra was quick in her work, digging herself into the earth and spreading her tendrils far and wide. During these times she took many forms designed to scare and torment: farm animals that would devour their herds and flocks, the deceased members of mourning families, returned to bring new pains to those who once loved them, terrifying beasts with to many teeth, claws, and eyes. Fear and madness spread like wildfire, as people believed they could no longer trust their eyes, or even the neighbors they once knew. Monsters would seemingly appear out of nowhere, causing havoc before disappearing just as quickly. Ozythra would even take the time to rampage and let loose through a couple of towns.
The War of Many Names[edit | edit source]
While Ozythra remained in the Abyss for much of the war, her realms were not untouched by dragons. Blinded by their pride, some of Tiamat's dragons believed that they could conquer the Abyss and twist it to their aims of their draconic queen. A team of four dragons were sent as an expeditionary force into the realms of chaos, believing that whatever resistance they faced they could easily quash. But they were wrong. They arrived in the Gutter Throne and beheld the nightmarish horror that was Ozythra. One went mad on the spot, while another became trapped in the shifting flesh of the realm. The other two attempted to flee, only to be struck down by the Demon Lord. For many days and many nights the Gutter Throne echoed with the pained roars of dragons. And by the end when Ozythra was done with her terrible work, you could barely call what was left dragons anymore. They were left as twisted abominations bound her Ozythra's rule, protecting her realm as ravenous guard dogs who, if they were still sane, would be craving their own deaths.

Powers and Abilities[edit | edit source]
Ozythra has the ability to change the shape of her body into anything she desires. This can allow her to take the form of mortals, beasts, or even creatures beyond your imagination. In her true form she wields a strength nearly on the level of the greatest demon lords, wielding more claws, tendrils, and hungry maws than one could count. She exudes an aura of madness and her touch can transform the flesh of other beings, from humanoids, to demons, and to even dragons.
