Jalivia de Vaironne is a Vulpine bard and eldest son of the de Vaironne family. They are a student at Deroulex's Select Conservatory of the Arcane and are a player character in the Curriculum of Chaos D&D 5e Open Table Campaign.

Physical Appearance

Jalivia has a short, slender frame, long-limbed and poised, with a natural elegance. His posture is relaxed but deliberate, giving the impression of someone always aware of how he is seen and how he wishes to be interpreted, a careful mask he has developed all his life.

His foxlike ears and long rose-pink hair are his most striking features. The ears lend him an alert, subtly mischievous air, while his hair falls past his shoulders in soft, layered strands that frame his face. His complexion is pale and smooth, untouched by hardship, reinforcing his noble upbringing, with features that Jalivia himself would describe as "effortlessly beautiful.

Jalivia’s face is fine-boned and expressive, with high cheekbones, a narrow jaw, and eyes that glint with foxlike mischief and cunning. He keeps his expressions cool and controlled, keeping a quiet smirk fused with wit and charm.

It is rare to see Jalivia wearing the same outfit twice, and what they do wear is always the most expensive, extravagant, and magnificent clothing that gold can by with soft flowing fabrics and bright warm colors. No matter the occasion, Jalivia is always the best dressed there.

Personality

Jalivia de Vaironne is a classic rich, popular kid who knows exactly how to work a room. He’s charming, fashionable, and always makes sure people like him. He loves bright, flowing clothes, attention, and being seen as someone generous and fun to be around. He plays the role of the beloved golden heir with practiced ease, always smiling, always dazzling, always ensuring he is seen and adored. He throws his money around without hesitation, gives expensive gifts, and enjoys the feeling of taking up space socially and being the most dazzling person in the room To most people, he comes across as confident, witty, and effortlessly magnetic.

That charm has an edge. Jalivia is clever and socially aware, and he understands power, especially the kind that comes from reputation and wealth. If someone insults him or crosses a line, he won’t hesitate to tear them down, and when he does, there’s nothing playful about it. At the same time, he is deeply loyal. He will go to extreme lengths to protect his friends, even if it costs him status and reputation.

But what much of what Jalivia shows the world is a mask. Beneath it, he worries that there isn’t anything real or worthwhile underneath the charm and money. Growing up emotionally neglected by his parents left him afraid of being truly open with others. He keeps people close, but rarely lets them see his vulnerabilities, fearing that if he does, he’ll be hurt or abandoned.

History

While they were born in the city of Avaenial, seat of the Wold Order and the High Elf Kingdom of Isonhound, Jalivia spent much of their early youth either being cared for by nannies in his families Seglock estate or being brought along by his parents to their properties across Isonhound, Western Osugbo, and Northern Pteris. When they reached their teen years, Jalivia was sent away to boarding school in Northern Isonhound at Montclair Hall's Academy for Cultured Boys. After graduating from boarding school, Jalivia was sent to further their education at Deroulex's Select Conservatory of the Arcane.

Jalivia was born into the prestigious de Vaironne house. Long ago Jalivia's ancestors were blessed by a powerful archfey fox spirit. gifting their family prosperity, charm, and cunning. This blessing also got their family a place of prestige amoung the High Elves of the Wold Order. Jalivia's great grandfather was a powerful merchant who created and ran the isonhound-Wold Trading Company, a vast mercantile empire spreading across Isonhound, Pteris, and Osugbo. his made the de Vaironne family wealthy beyond all measure.

Today the company is run by Jalivia's father, Alaric de Vaironne. Jalivia's mother is a High Elf named Élissandre de Vaironne. Her maiden name was née Montreval, cousins to the Wold royal family. Jalivia also has a sister two years younger then he, Mariette de Vaironne.

Jalivia was raised speaking Common and Sylvan and was taught Elvish by tutors during his upbringing.

Jalivia is a Vulpine Glamour Bard, wielding song and wit to craft magic and illusions. He was on his boarding school's fencing team and is proficient with rapiers and sabers.

Relationships

Father: Alaric de Vaironne

Alaric de Vaironne is a intelligent and stern man, and is the head of the de Varionne house and master of the Isonhound-Wold Trading Company. Much of his attention is dedicated to his work or maintaining appearances in polite noble society. His travels take him far and wide across Quelmar, meaning he is not in one place for long. While he is not a cruel man, Alaric subsitituted his duties as a father with money, shooing off Jalivia into the care of servants or nannies rather then giving his son the emotional attention they deserved. In public he would play the role of a loving father, but at home he cared more for his work and position then he did his family.

Mother: Élissandre de Vaironne

Élissandre de Vaironne is the social brains behind the de Vaironne family, While Alaric manages the finances and the company, it is Élissandre who manages the household and their social obligations. She is a cold and calculating woman, wearing a quiet smile as she navigates the shifting landscapes of royal society. She does not accept failure or social fopaux, and was the main decider for sending Jalivia to boarding school in order for them to receive a cultural education and making sure they were outside of the public eye until she deemed him ready.

Sister: Mariette de Vaironne

Mariette is the spitting image of her mother, both physically, and personality wise. She is cunning and fiercely intelligent, able to easy manipulate people as she shes fit. Outwardly she acts much like Jalivia, though her many compliments and gratitude's are all in order to further her own plans and ascension. Mariette will do anything to get ahead, no matter who she has to betray or hurt. Two years younger then Jalivia, Mariette will become a first year at Deroulex when Jalivia becomes a third year.

Cadoras Damellwar

Cadoras Damellwar was the first of many partners for Jalivia. Jalivia enjoys the physical company of others, though many a time as neglected to emotionally invest in any relationship, having preferred one night stands and situation ships for many years. Though things might be changing with Cadoras. Initially finding Cadoras as just a good source of physical company, Jalivia is coming to terms with the fact that Cadoras has fallen in love with him, and Jalivia must now determine if he loves Cadoras as well and to open himself up to his partner,
