Prologue

Session 0: Siesta!

Important Things that Happened:

• Players entered the city of Ravel during Siesta to join the First Annual Celebration of The Great Year, held 57 years after the Siege of Ravel. All characters were asked what made 523 PR so great for them, and the players answered with various levels of seriousness and comedy. For Ravel, it was great for it finally finished rebuilding after The Fantasial Freeze
• The group bonded over the mysterious pre-historical runes on the Nightstone as well as Isaac's various magical paints
• The party was greeted by City Councilwoman Grilma Willowblossom, a well studied Healer of the Sanguis Clinic, as well as her mother, Gale, who informed them of the pre-historical nature of the Nightstone and assured the party it was a good omen
• Grilma then gave a key-note speech to gathered crowd. The speech is an edited transcript of Amanda Gorman's poem "The Hills We Climb," which was first presented at Joe Biden's 2020 inauguration. The speech can be found here.
• After the speech, a Goliath named Ivan who seemed to know to much about the party expressed his gratitude for them being there, before a mysterious rain began falling, and the crowd was ushered indoors.
• The Shepherd stepped out into the rain, removed a rune from the Nightstone as a band of Cloud Giants and Goblins teleported into the celebration from the clouds. The Shepherd shouted to the party, before using the magic in the rune to freeze time around Ravel, and striking down Grilma in one clap of thunder, and then dissappearing in a burst of purple magic.
• The Cloud Giants then began pulling the Nightstone out of the ground, and combat began as the party attempted to stop them. The party put up a valiant effort, taking down two of the giants with the help of various NPCs, but could not withstand the onslaught of heavy blows from the Giants. Before any characters could be killed, Ivan returned, alongside a halfling named Bimp and a Kitsune named Yuki and removed the party from the timestream, taking them to Creation
• Yuki informed the party that the events that just happened were not supposed to happen, but could not give them much more info without causing a paradox.
• The Timelost Party now awaits in The Lost Libraries of Quelmar, Yuki's home in creation, for Ivan's arrival, as well as an explanation about what just happened, alongside of new fear of this mysterious Temporal Thunderstorm.

Session 1: Rumblings, Triboar

Important Things that Happened:

• The session starts in the trading post town of Triboar in central Pteris, as we see Odhran in his apothecary, Ohdran's Apothecary, grinding Figwart in a mortar and pestel to make a healing salve for the ongoing fight between Maurice and a Goliath named Bart happening in the basement as part of the Guild of Gregarious Gentleman, and underground fight club that hosts itself in Ohdran's Basement.
• After Maurice wins the fight and Ohdran applies his salve, the two converse about Triboar, before being visited by Larkin, who has allegedly come looking for Ohdran all the way from the Sanguis Clinic on behalf of Grilma Willowblossom, to find out what was so great about 523 PR for Ohdran. Both Odhran and Maurice answer but are intensely suspicious of the "overly chipper capybara." The friendly choeru says his goodbye, and Odhran and Maurice have a conversation discussing how weird Larkin was that last hours, until they are interrupted by a nearby hill erupting as if it was actually an inactive volcano the entire time.
• The two gentleman and Odhran's employees Hannah and Markus, as well as the Guild of Gregarious Gentleman take cover in the apothecary while debris and ash fall on the city. After 30 minutes, Maurice and Odhran adventure out in the fog to look for people in trouble, and in the town square, discover two Giants digging with massive shovels, and before they can react, both take a Giantload of thrown mud to the face, killing Odhran, and severely damaging Maurice. As Odhran lays on the ground dying, a flying purple frisbee smacks Maurice in the face, freezing him in time, as Enrik reveals himself from the fog and sends the two back to Creation.
• In creation, we join Thia, Diyu, Isaac, and Gopher, all developing Cabin Fever having been stuck here without a way out for what feels like three weeks to them, as Maurice and Odhran arrive, shortly followed by Enrik finally returning, to the frustration of some, and chagrin of others. Enrik then explains to the party that time has been broken, and is beginning the process of healing itself, and what from he has seen, when time ripples to fix itself, the small-folk of Pteris will be the victims of the oncoming Chaos. TLDR, when someone's life is saved because of time being broken, someone, somewhere else must pay the price. In this instance, the Giants killing the people of Pteris is that price, and Enrik wants our heroes to go back and prevent that from happening, making the Giants pay the necessary toll instead.
  • He also informs the party he has selected the individuals he did because some, if not all of them will die anyway if nothing is done, so it is easier to ask them to risk their lives.
• The party is given six dossiers about specific people in Triboar that will die in the oncoming attack that they should aim so save first to ensure the survival of the town.
  • Othovir: Ohdran's friend, owner of the local Horse Harness shop, and suspected devotee of Asmodeus.
  • Urgala: Hater of adventurers, and owner of the Northfield House, the local tavern and inn that houses locals.
  • Darz: Former pirate and current custodian of the Northern Caravan Campground.
  • Narth: Young sprightly owner of the Lionshield Coster, a local adventuring goods shop.
  • Darathra: Lord Protector of Triboar, and Captain of the Twelve, the loyal mercenary band that protects Triboar and nearby settlements.
  • Joan-Ohdran's longtime friend employee of at the apothecary, respected as a local hero in Triboar despite not being born there.
• The party forms a plan, does some research about Giants while in the library, and is sent back 10 minutes before the attack.
• Upon arriving, Thia remembers this is the town she bought her horse, Horsey, when she first left on her pilgrimage, and Diyu remembers that 724 years ago, he died here fighting with Giants and Dragons over a temple of Pelor, and was killed by a dragon that had been swatted from the sky by a metal Colossus built by the Giants.
• The party then puts their plan to save the six townsfolk into action, and through much combat, fear, and near-death experiences for Thia and Maurice, manage to kill both Fire Giants attacking the settlement as well as their band of ogres, and save all six people from their pre-ordained deaths.
  • Before the attack starts, Maurice and Diyu both notice Duke Zalto and The Shepherd standing outside Triboar, before The Shepherd casts the same spell he did in Ravel, which erupts the volcano, and causes Arlo Kanmeyer, who was busy chasing Gopher, to die via his chest cavity ripping open clean through his body.
• Othovir gifts Diyu a memory shard he had in his possession, theparty gains what appears to be a large Rod of "Detect Object" that the Giant's were wielding, Odhran opens his apothecary as a Bastion for the team, and the party wonders what happened to original the Maurice and Odhran, who were supposed to be killed by the flying mud from the Giants. When the ash clears, Duke Zalto is gone.

Session 2: Rumblings, Bryn Shandr

Important Things that Happened:

• The session opens with Ember at the Monastery of Ra, deep in the hills of Isonhound, who lived out the Arctic Autumn here, and has made friends with Everrett. Ember agrees to help Everrett get his powers back that were stolen by Enrik in exchange for teaching them time travel to save their fallen band of circus performers from their untimely fates.
  • The two teleport to Bryn Shandr, a port city on the northern tip of Pteris, and begin using Ember's Mystic abilities to read Everett's memories to engrave Ta-Shadethan Runes onto the Nightstone. After discovering the Acceleration Rune, used for Time Travel, the two are interrupted by Enrik, and a Temporal Implosion happens as two different forms of Temporal Magic clash as the two fight, and Ember is knocked out and shunted through time, to 524 PR
• We then appear in Bryn Shandr, in 524 PR, where Aurora, Kess, and Rue are all at the Central Caravan Market, owned by Aurora's father, Cassian, where they meet Larkin, and he asks them the same question he's asked everyone else. Larkin buys a painting from Rue, and goes on his way. Soon after Diyu and Isaac arrive, looking for Lumber to rebuild Triboar, and Ember wakes up, alone in an empty house with their bear, Mark Percy, and meet the group and divulge what just happened to them "an hour ago," to which everyone is baffled, because the Nightstone was in Ravel, not Bryn Shandr.
• The party heads to the port to get the lumber ordered by Darathra in Triboar, and are stopped by a band of Frost Giants led by Drufi, who ransacked and parked in the port, and demand to see Cassian Stormveil, as he allegedly possesses a shard of the Wand of the Spout.
• The party goes to Aurora and Cassian's house, to which he tells them he once HAD a shard but does not know where it ended up because he deemed it too risky to hold onto. They then plan to trick the Giants by painting a memory shard in Cassian's possession blue, and giving that instead. While painting the shard, Ember compels Cassian psionicly to give them an artifact from his vault of artifacts (likely stolen from the caravans that come through town that he has made his fortune on) and gives them a Necromantic Pike.
• The party meets the Frost Giants at the Port again, and successfully tricks them with the painted shard, gaining favor with the Frost Giants for "helping" them and with Bryn Shandr for preventing combat for ravaging the city. They are all rewarded with a magic item from Cassian's vault, and Cassian teaches his daughter, who he is finally proud of for the first time, how to fly.
• Diyu fails to attune to the Memory Shard he received from Othovir, so he shatters it to gain access to the power within, erasing the memory of a Verderer inside from time.
