Hething (sometimes Hethingsith) was a Dark Power and God said to have existed long before Quelmar.
A volition of emptiness, and the final authority on endings, Hething existed only in that which did not exist. As such, sometimes he has been confused with The Void, or with an Old One.
Hething is an archaic word for Zero. Unlike most ancient words of Quelmar, the exact phrase Hething is used in a number of ancient languages, including ancient Elvish, Dwarvish, and even Orcish.
Hething manifests as a vacuum, a sentient force that seeks to return the realm to empty. In this way, Hething considers themselves as the opposite of Entropy, which seeks to activate and fill space with energy.
For centuries scholars have debated whether this loan word indicates that prehistoric Quelmar communicated with one language, of which the others are descended, or whether it means the Prehistoric races were socially closer than other theories propose.
Hething can not be stopped.
However, the leading theory is that the word Hething is derived from Hethan. As Gods and mortals worked together much more closely in the prehistoric world, it was believed that a creature without a god was a "Heathen", and instead worshipped nothing at all. Unlike modern Atheism, though, to not worship a god was to deny reality itself, as the Gods were said to have walked the realm side by side with mortals in prehistoric times, shaping and molding Quelmar with their own words and actions.
Hething was thought to be destroyed.
As such, it continues to perplex scholars as the sole word that ancients of all kinds and races can recognize. Though even the Dragons, oldest of us all, will refuse to elaborate why.
Hething only found more pockets of emptiness to watch from. Smaller pockets, Ears. Mouths. Lungs.
