Sonder Grove

Type Small Town
Government Democracy
Location Doparana
Inhabiting Race Animal Folk

Sonder Grove is a small town at the island of the Doparana, during the Prehistory era of Quelmar.

About

Sonder Grove is a small town by a lake and the river Sprout Trout. Its soil is rich, the hills full of forests. The inhabitants here are of different animal folk and enjoy their relaxed lives, safe from monsters.

The inhabitants love celebrating different festivals with the larger community, including the annual Harvest Festival and its Pie competition.

For many years, the Mayor of Sonder Grove used public funds to organize the Sonder Grove Student Exchange Program (S.G.S.E.P.). Individuals from across the Gulfithorp Isles were invited to come and teach their skills and earn new skills, in a joint effort to enrich life and society of all animal folk across the Isles.

History

The small town was created early in Prehistory, as a haven to heal from the Territory Wars. Its ending is not sure, but rumors have it that a small part of the town still exists lost in forest ready to welcome anyone who would like to heal away from the world's horrors.

Notable Places

  • Main Library
  • Madge's Greenhouse
  • Winery
  • Abandoned Lighthouse
  • The Three Wheels caffe
  • The Guesthouse for the S.G.S.E.P.

Notable Events

Once, a group of exchange students from the neighboring islands put up a puppet show to cheer up the kids of the town. Unintentionally, they taught the kids of a new phrase: *burn sucker, burn!*. Since then, it became a beloved anthem among the rebellious kids and teens for generations to come. It never mattered to them that it was taken out of context (the exchange students merely wished to teach them of fire hazards and proper safety measures).
