Giants are a race of towering humanoid looking creatures with strong ties to the elements and rune magic.

Origins

The first giants were created by the goddess Othea, goddess of the elements and calamity who helped the creator gods defeat the Primordials. The first giants populated a plane known as Thalmyr, a land in tune with the elements. These ancient giants blurred the lines between mortals, celestials, and elementals, with their bodies being made up of earth, water, fire, air, and primordial energy.

But when the archangel Asmodeus invaded Thalmyr and slew Othea, he transformed Thalmyr into the Ten Hells. Othea's surviving children were scattered across the planes, and her greatest children were sworn to secrecy by Asmodeus.

Giant Gods

Giant's have a wide pantheon of gods. At their peak are those giants that submitted to Asmodeus and were sworn to secrecy about Othea. Below them are lesser giant gods, including powerful elemental spirits and giants who ascended to godhood.

The worship of Othea, or as her worshippers knew her, "the Shattered Mountain," became heretical among giants, and was punishable by death in some giant communities. Though small cults to the Shattered Mountain persisted across Quelmar.
