Vaelon was an ancient civilization that endured for more than fourteen thousand years before its fall during a great cataclysm. The details of this cataclysm remain lost to history, though observations by Candela Obscura investigators have established the possibility it was related to the use of psycho-temporal teleportation technology. In academic circles is believed to be little more than myth despite archeological evidence found on multiplte continents. Though its cities vanished and its knowledge was largely forgotten, traces of Vaelon endure beneath the foundations of the modern age, even beneath the very foundations of the city of Newfaire.
