Prehistoric Article

This article contains information said to be from Prehistoric Times. The validity of prehistoric content is dubious at best due to poor recordkeeping in the era, and should be considered unreliable, or at best: Legend.

The Plane Wars was Quelmar's first and oldest war. A result of the influx of new powers, life, and magic into the realm powers across Quelmar fought to take all of this new creation for themselves or to return this new creation back into the void.

About

When the Greater Deities arrived in the void that would be Quelmar they began to construct a new world, and in the process attracted even more divine powers who would join in their creation. This event became known as The Giving.

With their creation, the gods brought mortal life, and brought finality to the eternity that was the void they inhabited. They gave these new mortal beings great gifts. Magic that would command the very world around them, souls that would tie their existence to the realm, and land to spread out across and make their own.

Tensions though would build as these new creating powers had differing visions for what this new world would be. The God of Strife, Bane, would introduce his own creation, jealousy and would light the fuse that would set of the world. Mortals and Gods alike became jealous of of each others creations and desired them for themselves. At the same time the Primordials, beings who existed before the creation of the Gods, longed for a return to the void, believing the Gods had overstayed their welcome with the creation or mortals and by giving mortals magic. Others would soon arrive as well, Demons and other beings from far off planes, who wished only to corrupt and destroy. All would come to a head into full planar war. A war of this scale would not be seen again until The Holy War.

The war would shatter Quelmar into a scattered range of new worlds which would exist alongside the material. By the end of the war the Gods would establish their dominance, forging a tenuous peace amongst themselves, and strike down the Primordials, finally establishing their claim on this new realm. The remaining combatants beings would flee to hide in the farthest reaches of the universe and continue to plot their return to finally destroy the realm.

The Shattering of Sardior

Sardior and Tiamat were the first beings to inhabit the void and were the ones who gave the Gods haven when they first arrived. But with the creation of time their existence ceased to be infinite and the void became Quelmar. Mortals came to be and they used magic to continue to change the realm. Sardior and Tiamat demanded that the Gods cease their creation so that they may return to the void, but the Gods fought back and shattered Sardior. It is debated by many scholars about the placement of Sardior's shattering in the timeline. Some claim that it happened long before the Plane Wars and the Giving. Others believe that instead of Bane's gift, Sardior's death was what set off the war while some have theorized that Sardior's death was what actually ended the war. Such is still up to debate.
