Shortly after the Cyber Renaissance, the rebuilding of Quelmar's grand metropolis Galik began. This highly modern, reconstructed version of Galik would be deemed New Galik and build on the remains of what was left of the city. It became a flourishing metropolis of technological, scientific and magical advancements.

New Galik has had 4 Distinct Ages of Heroes

    • Catastrophe is hard to avoid

Geography[edit | edit source]

New Galik consists of 8 Burrows:

  • Cap. Central: Smack in the center of this city, this is the commercial hub of the city
  • Revolutionary Village: the wealthy residential business district
  • Minefield: located right beneath the cliffs that surround New Galik, Minefield was once home to mining families, and is now one of the poorest districts in the city
  • South Harbor: a seaside shopping and tourist destination
  • Kings: residential district known for corrupt leadership
  • West End: the arts and theatre district. Not located in the west, surprisingly
  • Isonhound-town: a fae touched district, ripe with magic and spells
  • Merlin's Keep: a middle class residential area known for being the first district  in the city to legalize magical education in public schools

Notable Organizations[edit | edit source]

  • The Free Defenders
    • A long standing heroic organization and the only government subsidized meta-human project. Once a guild of adventurers, The Free Defenders became a band of super heroes at the end of the golden age under the leadership of Captain GalicxY and Revolitionary Boy, the cities first adventurers turned super heroes.
    • Located in Cap. Central
  • The Pack
    • A long standing legacy family of werewolves
    • Based out of a large mansion located in Revolutionary Vilalge
  • Open Hand
    • An offshoot company of The Free Defenders, not government subsidized, slightly different ideas about how things should be done, a bit less regimented but often works with The Free Defenders to overcome larger issues
    • Based out of Revolutionary Village
  • Neighborhood Watch
    • Has a faction in most of the residential districts and surrounding suburbs
    • Low key anti meta-human/run by fear
  • NGPS (New Galik Public Schools)
    • The public school system. Includes various schools through the city.
  • NGPD (New Galik Police Department)
    • Rank with corruption and "bad apples" the NGPD is the current standing mundane law enforcement agency
  • The Brotherhood of Chaos (BOC)
    • a group of teenager villains and rabble-rousers causing chaos

  • The Academy
    • A school for guardian angels under the tutelage of Gabriel, an owl & possible god. While the academy is located outside of New Galik, angels in training often take their sabbatical or have guardian assignments in the city
  • Magic Studios
    • A world-famous film company located in Revolutionary Village
  • New Galik University (NGU)
    • A prestigious university best known for being the origin place the field of Magi-physics. The University mascot is an Olive. Located in Merlin's Keep
  • Great Barrier Reef
    • Of the coast of south harbor, this is a beautiful natural wonder. Unfortunately, due to human intervention and climate change, the reef is dying.
  • General Assembly Hall
    • The location where the UQN (United Quelmar Nations) has their annual general assembly session
  • Arch Crystal Archives
    • The largest library in the mateplane
  • Area 7
    • a highly classified, military protected experimental ground, rumored to hold a portal to another dimension
  • King’s
    • A shady dive bar in the back alley’s of south harbor, a meeting spot for villains

The New Galik Grand Prix[edit | edit source]

Located at the remodeled, upgraded and desecrated ruins of an ancient temple, this race is known for dangerous thrills, dramatic foul play, and of course speed beyond your wildest dreams. The New Galik Grand Prix is the edgy, steampunk racing event of the year! The competition is tough, and often attracts unexpected participants.

  • “Ms. Matrix”, she/they
    • Look: white girl, purple hair, purple and silver mech suit
    • Powers: tech manipulation powers and cool self-made tech suit
    • Story: been a frenemy of the group for a while, has a family at home that she is supporting financially through her hero work
  • Steve Hadinson, he/him
    • Look: latino elf boy, long brown hair
    • Powers: none, being a super popular celebrity
  • “One-shot”, he/him
    • Look: young jason mamoa
    • Powers: weapons expert, excellent shot
    • Story: inherited the legacy of being one-shot after his father retired, partner of Cami
  • “All star” he/him
    • Look: black, closely shaved head, perfectly symmetrical face, wears a red white and silver suit
    • Powers: flight, super strenth
    • Story: Living up to the impossible expectations of being the Free Defender’s Golden Boy, low key dating Katira but it’s hard because their powers and lives are very juxtaposed from each other and they can’t touch without her getting hurt
  • “Wolf” he/they
    • Look: little dark skinned boy, big eyes, turns into a wolf
    • Powers: being a werewolf
    • Story: Former experiment of Yellow Jacket Corp (a villain from another arc), Cami’s adopted brother, plays video games with Devon a lot, is 12 years old
  • “Explo-son” he/him
    • Look: punk-nerd magician, afro-latina
    • Powers: exploding things (particularly coins), sleight of hand magic
    • Story: Former member of the Brotherhood of Chaos, reformed to join the Free Defenders
  • “Sha-Doe” she/they
    • Look: face of a dear, sort of moon like glow
    • Powers: moon powers/invisibility
  • “Dr. Vortex” she/her
    • Look: put together, organized, wears a lab coat
    • Powers: being extremely smart, obtaining her doctorate degree in magiphysics with a focus in portal sciences at age 12

Teen Villains:

  • Five Guy, they/them
    • Look: frosted tips, bleach blonde hair
    • Powers: can multiply into five people
    • Affiliation: member of the brotherhood of chaos
  • Warp Star
    • Look: goth boy, baggy clothes, black holes where fingernails would be
    • Powers: black hole manipulation

Adult Heroes/Villains

  • Scarlet Phoenix, she/her
    • Look: Dark skinned latina woman, red and yellow suit, big sword
    • Powers: a magic flight suit (ala Iron Man) and sword
    • Affiliation: co-leader of The Free Defenders, Silver Gen
  • Swordsman, he/him
    • Powers: force manipulation through shadows. Best known for his incredible wielding of a shadow sword.
    • Affiliation: co-leader of The Free Defenders, Silver Gen
  • Mimic, she/they
    • Look: gender fluid white woman with an undercut,
    • Powers: skilled in stealth, acting, and various weaponry
    • Affiliation: Free defender member, Bronz Gen
  • Gerald, he/him
    • Affiliation: the chauffeur and driver for The Free Defenders most famous and competent teen hero, All Star, Gold Gen
  • Mayor May Myers, she/her
    • The Mayor of New Galik, recently re-elected, also recently recovered from a four month stint of being mind controlled by a pair of villains known as The Gemini, Bronz Gen
  • King, he/him
    • the owner and bartender at King’s, an older hunched over, mixed-race man who dresses very cool for his age, Silver Gen
  • Duke of Bone, he/him
    • Look: A skeleton in a suit
    • Powers: a necromancer responsible for various misdeeds including raising numerous zombies from the dead. Hard to pin down.
    • Affiliation: former associate of the Gemini, Gold Gen
  • The Handyman, he/him
    • Powers: a villain with the power of unfixing things with his mind,
    • Affiliation: former associate of the Gemini - now working alone, Silver Gen
  • Finch, he/him
    • Powers: villain with the ability to speak to birds and potentially turn people into birds in a pinch (rumor), he traffics in information
    • Affiliation: former associate of the Gemini, Gold Gen
  • Eden Ramirez, she/her
    • high elf magic shop owner in Isonhound-town
  • Samuel Faux aka “Quill”, he/him
    • Powers: media and propaganda projects possess unique and probably magical persuasive properties
    • Affiliation: runs a news station, former associate of the Gemini, Silver Gen
  • Condor (he/him) and Lace (she/her)
    • Powers: Mind control and human puppetry
    • Affiliation: These two are the Gemini, cult leaders that use their powers to manipulate others in an attempt to create a giant family since their daughter disaffiliated with them, Silver Gen
    • Note: these two are in prison in the current SUPERZ timeline
