Old Father Groal is an ancient archfiend originating from the plane of Pandemonium and serves as the right hand and advisor of the Lord of the Ten Hells, Asmodeus.
Physical Appearance
Old Father Groal is an old and frail looking fiend, dressed in tattered grey robes and shambling along in hunched posture, their grey clawed hand tightly gripping their cane for support. Beneath their robes, their body is made of a mass of slithering serpents and slimy tendrils and shift across their body as they walk. Though they have no visible mouth, their voice is deep and graveling, gurgling out words of ancient wisdom whenever they see fit to speak.

History
Long ago before the world was born, Old Father Groal was a great and powerful archfiend emperor of the planes of evil. But Groal's empire was destroyed by the archangels of Mt. Celestia who smote Groal's vast armies with holy fire and banished Groal to the maddening plane of Pandemonium.
Many years later, when the former archangel Asmodeus become the Lord of the Hells, the new ruler sought out Groal in the planes of Pandemonium. Long years of exile had taken its toll on the old archfiend, leaving Groal a shadow of their former self. Asmodeus requested guidance from the old archfiend on how to lead and control the growing evil of his new kingdom. With little else to do with his existence, Groal saw fit to share his wisdom with the fallen archangel, and joined by Asmodeus' side within the Hells. Groal's ambitions had long since burned out, and paired with his wisdom and knowledge from long years made Old Father Groal one of Asmodeus' few true confidants who he sought out in times of need.
Currently Old Father Groal resides in Hellmar within the infernal keep of Kashtar-Val.
