Vesuvius is the god of hope and disaster.
Description[edit | edit source]
Vesuvius is a minor deity that controls natural disasters. This includes things like harsh winters, volcano eruptions, hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, and things of similar destructive nature. He is not often depicted to have a solid body or form. Instead, each form of natural disaster represents a different part of his body or bodily action, though the specifics of this are heavily debated among followers.
His holy symbol is an obsidian droplet. This represents a number of things, such as the cooling of lava after a volcano eruption, the raindrops in a hurricane, the violent flow of water in a flood, and the people’s tears that follow after immense destruction.
Works[edit | edit source]
Vesuvius is partially responsible for every natural disaster that occurs in the world, though he’s not always the central or driving force. The most notable of this was The Eye of Disaster, a powerful hurricane that swept over a volcano. The eye of the hurricane and the volcano’s opening aligned, and it erupted. All nearby civilisation was completely and utterly destroyed. There was one person revived from this tragedy, a prophet by the name of Sufjan. He was sewn back together by his joints and ordered to wander the lands, spreading joy in the wake of Vesuvius’s disasters. Vesuvius is not a cruel god. Just an unfortunate one.
