Early Years
Kriqwyn's father is an architect of much skill and renown. He has designed and overseen the construction of many architectural wonders, including several lavish temples and more than one king's palace. However, despite his continuing professional achievements, it is said that what he is most prolific and building is family. Kriqwyn is her father's seventh child and her mother's third. Her mother and little sister would die several months after the birth of said sister due to a tragic carriage accident when she was four. This left her with only fleeting memories of the woman. Within three years her father had remarried and another sibling was on its way. As her father was often way with one project or another, Kriqwyn was often left in the care of her elder siblings. It was a pleasant enough life, if a bit difficult to be noticed among the brood her father had sired.
Just before Kriqwyn's tenth birthday, something very peculiar happened. The brother to whom she had directly followed had teased her about something. Looking back, she cannot say what exactly it was... something small and inconsequential to the adult mind that nonetheless was ever so important to the child. Maybe he had stolen something...? Possibly as they were outside - no matter how she was scolded by her elder siblings Kriqwyn always seemed to be outside in any weather. The only clothes of her which did not have any stains where those her eldest sister kept under lock and key for very special occasions. Anyway, Kriqwyn was outside and chasing her brother, for some reason, through the thicket. Whatever her brother had done, Kriqwyn was so angry she felt as though her will alone could cause the ground to open up and swallow her sibling. The next thing she knew, she was staring down in shock as her brother was buried up to his chest in the mud.
- Shortly after "mud event" her grandfather came to collect her. Her father initially refused, but when she began to grow white scales he relented.
- Her grandfather is an archiologist. He took her from dig to dig as his apprentice. He is employed by a company which aquires ancient relics to sell to "collectors". Not the most honorable work, but is among the highest paying in the profession. Her grandfather used the funds to help uncover his families past, in particular where their magical abilities come from. (His leading theory is that their ancestors include a white dragon. The truth is that the dragon was a pearl dragon.)
The Adventuring Life
- On her last dig with her grandfather, she recovered something related to the pearl dragons (she thinks it concerns white dragons, but that doesn't fully make sense to her), and is joining the fight in order to gain more information.
