Delusion Soarkin is a tiefling (Glaysa) rogue who lives to put a smile on everyone’s face! She is a silk dancing acrobat and contortionist in the campaign “Aw, Heckna!”
Physical Appearance[edit | edit source]
Delusion, or “Lulu” is a bubblegum pink tiefling with ruby red hair and matching horns that curve out from the sides of her head, like a harlequin’s hat. She has pale blue eyes and is only 5 foot tall, especially since she wears flexible shoes that don’t allow for any extra height. When performing, her acrobat suit is baby pink and maroon and fitted with a thin layer of strong leather to keep her safe from anyone who tries to steal from the troupe. She wears white face paint, somewhat in tradition, and also because she notices it makes those common humanoid races she performs for more comfortable if for even a moment they don’t see her as a tiefling, but instead of a human who has donned horns and a tail for their amusement. She applies glitter wherever she can! When not in costume, Lulu usually wears close-fitting clothing and leather armor and carries a rapier as well as several knives.

Lulu is a people pleaser. She will do anything she can to make the people she cares about feel more comfortable and happy, it’s part of what drives her performance! But more than once, it has gotten her into trouble, since often what makes people happy is the things they don’t have or don’t want to do themselves, it seems and Delusion ends up doing it for them!
She also is a hopeless romantic, looking for the approval and affection she lost when her father became a closed off man. She wants desperately to be loved and looked after, but because of her nature, tends to fall for the guys who just want her to help them get away with petty crimes.

Delusion was born in a small town called Gillygrove, a month’s travel from where she would find herself at the beginning of her journey in Galik. Gillygrove is in the dense swamps of Dolina, where most people are dragonkin, but their sense of community and found family allows for many uncommon heritages to find a way of life in its lands. Her mother, Destiny, was a medicine woman, working with the many rare herbs and vegetation of the land to create and experiment with new remedies, while her father was a retired hunter after he lost his leg to a band of what was left of Tiamat’s followers when Delusion was still young. His injury left him curmudgeonly and distant, leaving Delusion to seek the fatherly attention and love she wanted in others.
While still in school, she started going by Lulu, but the other town’s kids would often treat her as if she was just some inattentive and crazy child because of her name. She tried her best fulfill the role the other students expected of her, the class clown, but this didn’t last very long as she wanted desperately to impress her teachers and genuinely enjoyed learning. She was a brilliant student and would often bring home top marks.
Lulu would have many relationships as she grew up and blossomed. She was constantly on someone’s arm, going to town dances and fairs with whoever would give her the most attention. If ever an argument would break out between her suitors, Lulu would simply remove herself from the situation and let them settle it and the victor would simply seem to her as the one who wanted her most.
This is what led her to ignore her pre-determined path, to join the Grove of Voiceless Whispers when she finished learning. She had wanted to move on to learn more at one of the universities in Galik, but her family could hardly afford and being from a small town, she had no one to formally introduce her to society. She also had the expectation, as the firstborn daughter of her family, to join the Grove in service of He Who Knocks. She had no affinity for herbalism and felt no real connection to the earth like other Druids, so she never felt like this could truly be the way for her, so when the boy she was courting at the time asked her to run away with him so she couldn’t be sent to the Grove, she leapt at the opportunity.
Together, Lulu and Flick, a lizardfolk, ran away on the night she was supposed to be leaving for the Grove. They headed to Galik together, but about halfway through their journey, Flick got homesick and left her in the middle of the night. Lulu knew she couldn’t go back home or she would be considered a complete embarrassment. It was better for her family to believe she died during the Grove’s trials or was assigned to serve in a different part of Dolina than for her to return.
Lulu headed to Galik, using skills in flexibility, dexterity and slight of hand to snag money, food, and supplies along her way. Once in Galik, she still didn’t have enough money to keep studying, but she did find something she loved, performing. She began to sing and twist herself around and do all sorts of acrobatic tricks to make coin, taking challenges and dares on how far she could stretch her bodies limits in contortion and folding herself into small spaces. She would travel with a small band of performers for another year or two before hearing about the Revalia.
An opportunity to perform in a real circus and not on the street seemed like the bright new start to her life that Lulu needed! So she joined a new troupe of performers heading to the Revalia to become a part of the act!

Delusion is very smart and keen on tapping into a magical ability one day. She also has the traits and abilities that are given to a Glaysa tiefling, like minor illusion.
She is extremely dexterous and can contort her body into all sorts of shapes and angles. She is agile and has a tendency to pickpocket without really wanting something, just because she knows her touch is very light and she can get away with it.
