Chapter 1[edit | edit source]
The story of Violet Lorinda starts 94 years ago in this tiny little village called Luanda in a completely different realm than Quelmar, both her mom and dad were tieflings. Her dad left before Violet was even born. Violets mother Lily never talked about him. She told Violet that he passed away but she always had this nagging feeling. Even though she was young she was very observant. She noticed that her mom had no pictures of him around the house or talks about him in detail just vaguely. She could feel resentment whenever she mentioned him. Now she thinks that he actually might be alive but where he could be she has not the slightest clue. Now Violet's mother raised her until she was 5 years old.
One day on a spring afternoon, Violet's mother was braiding Violet's long beautiful black hair (the same style as her picture) when all of a sudden they heard screams and people yelling outside their home. Their village was under attack. A nearby king had decided he wanted to expand his kingdom. The king had decided to use force this meant going to nearby villages and taking it by causing fear in the villagers, the ones that bowed down were spared but any resistance they were killed on sight. As soon as Violet's mom heard the screaming she told Violet to hide under the bed and not come out until she returns. Then her mother ran outside but not before grabbing what seemed to be a shortsword. Unlike others who bow to fear her mother did not and was going to always help those in need. Violet listened to her mother and ran under the bed.
About 30 minutes later the door was busted open and in walked a tall muscular soldier holding her mother by the throat. Violet noticed how bloody her mother looked but also the blood on the soldier too. Violet knew if she came out from hiding she would be in trouble. The mysterious man said, "Where is she?" and the mother repeated, "I told you she is not here, she is long gone far away and safe from your king."
The grip on her neck tightened as the soldier grated his teeth and Violet could see her mother gasping for breath.
The man yelled "YOU CAN HIDE HER ALL YOU WANT THE KING OF REINHIM WILL HAVE HIS REWARD!!" with that he tightened his grip more and did not let go until her mother went limp.
Violet was covering her mouth and crying trying to not make noise even though she just saw her mother die. The mysterious man threw her mother against the wall like a ragdoll, her body crumpled to the floor. Violet was terrified by what she was witnessing she felt anger, fear, sadness and vengeance.
He smelled the air and said out loud "I can smell you". He began to search around the house tossing things and breaking in doors and walls. Violet was stuck she had no clue how she was going to get out of this. While panicking all of a sudden the bed was lifted off the ground she came face to face with the soldier that has entered her home and killed her mother. She could clearly see his face now he was a drow, he had short white hair, black eyes, and scars all over his face and body. He smiled and showed Violet his razor sharp teeth. Violet screamed at the top of her lungs, he went to grab her as she tried to escape.
In an instant, as she was trying to escape she noticed that the drow had a sword tip sticking out of his chest. The next thing she knew he was limp and on the floor and looming over him was an elf.
The elf looked at Violet and said, "Hello my child my name is Deity, I am a friend of your father".
Violet had no idea what to say all she could do was think about, Why did this soldier target me? Why did he say I was a reward for the king? Friend of my father? Is he alive? How does he know this person? What is his history?. With a shaky breath she stands up. Trying to take in the events that just happened and process the horrors that just happened in her village while also trying to figure out why it seems people are targeting her directly. Deity kneels down to be eye level with Violet and gives her a hug and Violet breaks down finally releasing her emotions.
Deity says "It is ok child we will avenge your mother".
Nothing else was said as Deity got up and led Violet out of her home. As Violet walked out she saw the full damage to her village. In this moment Violet experienced what revenge feels like and she knew she had a new life mission to destroy the people who killed her mother and her village.
Chapter 2[edit | edit source]
For the next part of her past we will do a montage, Deity takes Violet back to where he is staying in his Elven village in the forest Wonder. It is hidden deep within the woods, it was different than her village. Their Violet had a hard time fitting in because she was not like everyone else, a trifling in a village full of elves? She sticked out no matter where she went. The thing is though Deity made sure that she felt welcome in the village. This worked because Deity is seen as intimidating to other people in the village. To Violet though she was her role model, as Deity treated her like he was her own child.
Over the next 20 years it was Deity and Violet first it was training. Violet started training as soon as she entered the village. Deity wanted to wait until Violet was older to start training her but Violet insisted on starting. Violet started out as the smallest on in the training field. Soon though Violet gained multiple skills and by the age of 13 she was ready to go on her first adventure with Deity. Then one her and Deity went out to get bounty's and do different missions collecting the rewards and going on multiple adventures within the realm. From each experience and adventure she grew and learned more about herself.
Violet now 25 years old feel she is ready to depart from Wonder and explore this realm by herself. She is ready to be independent and set off in the world on her own. Violet wants to learn more and she feels it is better if she does it by herself. She says goodbye to Deity and thanks him for everything he has done and taught her.
Violet now sets out on her own, for the next 50 years Violet goes around her realm on her own learning and building her skills, she sees new things and meets many different types of people. She never creates close relationships though as she never stays to long in one place. After some time though Violet had had created a name for herself across the realm, she was known for always being around places that end up losing large amounts of money or treasures but never knowing who did it.
Violet is staying in the village Jicma, only for a few days. The reason she is here is she heard their is a very powerful witch in this village that put an ad out that peaked Violet's interest, it said can "I can grant you immortality but at a price". This peaked Violet's interest because she has studied immortality before and instantly was hooked on wanting to become immortal.
This witches name was Beatrice the great witch of Jicma known far and wide for her spells and powers she posses, some go to her for help others for more cynical things and for others very odd requests.
Violet ask one of the village folk where Beatrice is located and he says this, "She is located deep within the forest next to our village, be careful though she is known to kill anyone who she does not like."
Violet scoffs, she is confident that she can handle it. She heads on out to the forest. About four hours pass by and Violet begins to feel a certain aura surrounding the forest now it is a very powerful aura, she knows she is close. She looks around to try and see if their is a house around her. She does not notice a house anywhere in the woods. Next she looks around at the hills and notices a door shape embedded within one of the hills.
"This must be her house" Violet thought as she walked towards the house when all of a sudden Violet steps on a trip wire and a whole fleet of arrows come flying at her. Violet quickly avoids them will running towards the house. With each step she sets off more traps but Violet continues running and avoiding the obstacles.
Eventually she reaches the front door. Violet knocks on the door three times, and the door slowly opens, no one is behind the door so she cautiously goes in.
Chapter 3[edit | edit source]
Inside it looks like the typical house of a witch, there are pots and potion bottles spread out and about herbs and other things to make spells, books that contain information. She would know this because she has come across many witches within her bounty hunts and adventures. No witch with quite a reputation of Beatrice though.
But in all that Violet notices that their is a baby crib in the room too. A baby crib in a witches house? That is a first for Violet. She also saw a rocking chair and it was moving back and forth she knew someone was sitting in the chair. The person sitting in the chair said "You have finally arrived, I know why you are here and I have been waiting a long time for you to come" the person in the chair stands up and it is Beatrice.
She stands at 4'7 with long black hair and green piercing eyes. Violet responds and says "What am I here for exactly?" testing the witch to see if she truly knows the purpose of her visit. Not knowing that one of Beatrice's powers is that she can look into the future.
Beatrice responds with "You are here to trade your fertility for immortality" Violet is taken aback a bit by this. Violet never agreed to that being traded for immortality. But she did figure money would not be a sustainable trade for immortality. The thing is Violet wanted to know why fertility was the witches request.
Beatrice says "Do not be scared my child, for I am willing to do this trade because I had my fertility taken away from me sometime ago".
Violet realized that Beatrice seems to want a child. This is not normal in the realm, but Violet respects it. Violet says, "I am never scared. Immortality to me is more important than bearing children. I want to outlive my enemies and watch them die a slow and painful death, so yes I agree to your terms".
With that Beatrice puts her hand out and her and Violet have officially made a deal. Beatrice begins to gather the herbs and necessary tools for this procedure. Beatrice tells Violet that she will have to be given some herbs to put her to sleep because the pain is unbearable for most creatures.
Violet says, "No need to put me to sleep. I have experienced pain before and pain is what makes me stronger." Beatrice while reluctant did not give Violet any herbs to ease the pain. Then the procedure began, Beatrice took some of Violet's blood and mixed it with different herbs. Then Beatrice began to remove Violet's uterus. She successfully removed it and put it into a jar. Next Beatrice took some of Violets blood and mixed it with herbs and many other ingredients. She sewed Violet up and then made Violet drink the concoction. This was the most painful part for Violet. She was gritting her teeth and bearing through the pain. After that Beatrice and Violet both got what they have been longing for.
Beatrice explains to Violet, "You will be able to live forever as long as you stay out of harms way, if you get hurt past the point of your body being able to regenerate or heal you will still die, that is the catch." Violet then leaves Beatrices house, slightly in pain she makes her way back to the village.
Chapter 4[edit | edit source]
A few days after those events Violet left Jicama, she set back off around the realm again this time with a new mission in mind-to find the people who destroyed her village. Violet is ready to set her plan of revenge. Violet is now in a village close to The Village of Richard. She decided to come here because back in another village she was looking at her huge board of pictures and pins on a map. This board was used to track down the targets of her revenge. From her board she realized that they were located back in Luanda where she grew up, now called The Village of Richard.
Violet gathers everything she needs, her shortsword, bow and arrows, dagger, rapier and other things that help her in battle. She is ready to go back to where she grew up to finish the job she was determined to do the day her village was destroyed. Now Violet knew she would clearly be outnumbered but she made plans to get her close to the king because she is determined to kill him. It takes Violet takes about 2 days to get to The Village of Richard. She decides to hide outside of the village in the woods making sure she is hidden.
Close enough to watch, according to her info the king is in this village today on some business with the people running this town.
She spots a house with guards out front, that must be where he is located she thought to herself. Sneaking through the shadows Violet inches towards the house. She is now up against the outside wall and decides to sneak in through the window. No one was watching the back of the house so that was lucky for Violet. She slips in through the window once in the house she can hear people talking upstairs. Then she heard footsteps walking down the stairs. His loud voiced filled the house as he left she heard people say goodbye King Aurlo. Violet prepared for attack and readied her attack.
Violet's heart began beating faster, she could feel the adrenaline kick in as she waited for her prey to descend the stairs.
In an instant Violet sprinted towards the bottom of the steps and instantly took drew her sword to attack the king, the revenge was so close she could taste it. All of a sudden Violet sees blue and black lighting coming towards her. She thinks "Oh s***" and gets blasted with an eldritch blast. BOOM! Violet gets blasted through the house and out into the town square
Violet is stunned frozen still for a moment trying to catch her breath. She did not see that coming, she knew the king had a wizard to protect him but she did not expect the wizard to be with him within the house today. Lying in the dirt all Violet feels is pain and she is still trying to breathe and gather herself before escape. All of a sudden she hears people talking and yelling from the direction she was blasted from.
She realizes she needs to get out if she does not want to be captured. Violet struggles to stand up but eventually does and slowly runs to a spot where she can hide to recover a bit before she goes. Now hiding Violet hears the voices get closer. Being as quiet as she can Violet takes a listen to the conversation. She hears something about a bounty being put out on her for 10,000 GP. Violet knew she would need to flee the realm as this bounty was very high.
Violet struggles back to the neighboring village it takes her 3 days now to get back as she is injured. On her way back home she saw multiple bounty's in a town, one day she saw her picture drawn and on a bounty poster. She realized she needed to leave immediately because soon there will be people out hunting for her and knows many people she has met may turn on her.
Chapter 5[edit | edit source]
As she arrives in her village she can hears people whispering and talking about her because her bounty and picture has been circulating around town. She hurries back to her home and grabs everything she can. All of a sudden she hears a loud knocking at the door, she knows it is not good. Violet curses in her head. She grabs what she has packed and some food and drink and escapes through her window. As soon as she did she hears the doors slam open, it is a bunch of soldiers rushing in. She made a quick escape, she straps everything onto her horse and rides off away from town.
Violet travels a long time, through snow, rain, thunder, all the changing seasons. Violet travels across her realm on the run for a good 8 years. Hiding in the shadows making money or stealing to survive.
Then one day Violet stopped into town at a bar for a drink. She notices some bounties around the bar that are posted mentioning "the Quelmar realm". From what she read they were offering a lot of money, they were all about dragons and different sorts of creatures. She was intrigued as to what waits for her in the Quelmar realm.
This is the escape Violet needs, so she sets off to Quelmar. Now at 84 years old.
Now we never do learn the realm of where Violet came from as that is a secret. But her long winded journey to the Quelmar realm took another 10 good years. As the venture was far away from where she was.
94 years old now Violet finally sets foot in the Greedy Green in the town Fyurl. Violet feels relief as she knows she successfully escaped her realm. Or has she?
