The indestructible humans of Quelmar are a race of simple humanoids with one great strength: adaptability. Their quickly evolving nature has led to them surviving nearly every attack on their race, and has allowed them to spread and infiltrate every corner of the realm.
History[edit | edit source]
The origin of humans in Quelmar has been long-disputed, but one popular theory refers to ancient Kiston, where it is said the dragons originally created them as subjects but scattered them across the realm when they proved to be too willful for their would-be masters. Another legend also tells of three ships aboard which the first humans are said to have arrived.
Subraces[edit | edit source]
There are 5 main subraces of human, distinguished not just by their external physical traits, but also by their physiological nature.
Bremish Humans[edit | edit source]
The humans of Breme claim nearly the whole winter land for themselves and intend to claim the rest. Thicker skinned and evolved for cold climates, they primarily live in snowy and icy villages as tribes that claim and defend the frigidity with honor.
Pterish Humans[edit | edit source]
The Humans of Pteris have many allies. The Pteris humans are powerful climbers.
Amusan Humans[edit | edit source]
Home to perhaps the most tactical of the humans, Amusa has been a hot territorial battleground, even when dragons have posed a threat.
Feytouched (Isonhound) Humans[edit | edit source]
The humans of Isonhound are far cries from their civilized, urban cousins in Amusa. Wild, reckless, and one with the land, feytouched humans either cohabitate with local tribes and city folk or gather in small forested groups, staking out their own land where they’ve become unlikely allies with elves and other sylvan creatures.
Osugborn Humans[edit | edit source]
The Osugborn are a massive group of humans, many of who lived on the surface through the dragon age.
Race Features[edit | edit source]
These additional features can be added to the base human statistics but cannot be combined with the Variant Human (I.e. individual humans can benefit from a racial feat or a racial saving throw proficiency but not both.)
