Descendants of the old-world Locathah, the Sahuagin are a fish-faced people who live in every ocean.

Sahuagin have long lived underwater around quelmar, spread so far and wide around the realm.
The sahuagin have several loyalties, one to their god Sekolah, their creator. Secondarily to Istishia, the patron of the water.
Sahuagin are taught to protect the waters from invaders at all costs, and as such have many patrols and, these patrols reveal all to the City of Caverns, and it is the Sahuagin who might have ever known where Isle Meregrund was at any point in time.
However, to get that info, pirates or hunters of Isle Meregrund would need to travel far out to the great whirlpools of Quelmar near Isonhound, and diving far below the surface to where the city is.
