History[edit | edit source]

While typically hidden from most passer-bys, the lady Ella Silvercrest recruited the elven Anyrion of The Best Around to come see their land after he and his team assisted in rescuing elves from a haunted manor outside Dolmvay.

The Best Around, led by Venereal, came to Elin Barad to discuss attacks on the Diimgard area from various groups of kobolds and orcs. After finding out about the Kobolds leader Corduth, and the subsequent attack on Dolmvay, the ruling prince of Elin Barad, Prince Kaliel, decided that they should begin finding the Arms of Sin and use them against the rise of the dragons. This city became the head quarters of the Best Around while they hunted the weapons and lasted until Corduth attacked the village from above.

Battle with Corduth[edit | edit source]

When Prince Kaliel created a faux Arm of Sin, called WitheredStake, Corduth attacked the city in search of is newly discovered weapon and others. Although the Best Around managed to keep him at bay, Corduth still demanded the WitheredStake. The trap worked and Corduth took the bait, hopefully keeping him off the trail of the other weapons. But at that moment, Anyrion betrayed the group by revelaing there were other Arms in the possession of the team, and he traded them to Corduth for the city's protection. A second battle ensued and the group barely made it out with their lives.

About[edit | edit source]

  • The Elven sisters Dariel and Iris operated a tavern called "The Dancing Flute" in Elin Barad for passing fey visitors. The two would later join The Best Around as a way of repaying a debt they owed to Prince Kaliel, who often performed music for the masses at the tavern.

Architecture[edit | edit source]

Although this is an Elven city it has all the architectural makings of a Tree Village, the likes of which are usually inhabited by Ursanids. Whether or not this city was ripped away from the Ursanids in a war or simply modeled after one of their city's is still debated by historians within the area.
