Grayson Wildemere

Grayson Wildemere is a Neutral-Aligned Human First-Year General Studies Student at Deroulex's Select Conservatory of the Arcane. To him, a degree from Deroulex is just means to an end, and wants to use it as a stepping stone to launch himself into the entrepreneurial world in order to appease his family. Grayson's business methods are cutthroat, and he makes it a point to know as much about everyone as possible in order to ensure his chances of success. As a result, he has joined the Future Entrepreneurs of Deroulex and the Deroulex Dispatch in order to skyrocket his chances.

Despite Grayson's demeanor as a high-standing, sometimes overly pompous noble, a status and perception he does well to keep up, it couldn't be further from the truth. Born to a large family, being the youngest of five, eventually genetics caught up to Grayson, and he was born with nothing. Not a shred of the world-moving power that his mother and father used to carve their place in the world. Just a name he felt he couldn't live up to, and believe him, his siblings reminded him every day of it.

He tried to double down by being the ultimate people-pleaser, doing anything his brothers, sisters, mother, and father asked of him, even getting to such a point of subservience that he even was helping out the staff of his house at times. In a way, it was a perfectly symbiotic relationship for most sides of the house. Grayson had just a shred of hope that maybe, just maybe, if they appeased their family enough, he would be acknowledged as one of them. Get a seat at the table. Finally be a part of the family who had shunned him for so long. And to his family...well, they just had another staff member.

When he finally set off on his own for Deroulex, no one wished him goodbye. No one walked him to the station. He took the clothes on his back, the belongings in his room that he felt he never deserved, and all the money he'd been able to skim from the top of their family's wealth, leaving him...bitter. He vowed he would bring his family to their knees, so that he could finally acknowledge him. Not with kindness, but with cruelty. He would cut the throats of anyone who disapproved of his ways, he would claim the world as his own, and finally be worthy of being a Wildemere. The only problem? He could never bring himself to do it. He could never be mean. He'd seen how fast people's faces lit up when he was nice. In the end, he'll always live in his family's shadow.

Campaign History

Grayson Wildemere first appeared in "Orientation Challenge," where he was on a team with Larine Arneza and Melwythorne. The three were quite varied in their talents and were able to make it quite far in the Orientation Challenge, but Grayson's slow pace held the group back just short of finishing before the mimic-chest attack happened. Grayson sustained the least of the injuries, not even falling unconscious during the incident, and as the students responsible for saving him were rewarded, he snuck out of the building. He was later found in the back alley by Grimmwood, dazed and confused, and admitted to the Infirmary for further observation, being discharged at the beginning of Gyz'x.

He had a minor appearance in the minor-RP-event "All Hallow's Eve," where he wore a custom-tailored Venician mask and Carnivale outfit.

He next appeared in "Kickstarter," where he was attempting to hunt down an Amber Ooze after it got in the way of him opening up his potion business with Urzmatok Grojsh. With the help of his friends, he was able to track down the Amber Ooze, but wasn't able to help much in the fight. He did however, help in the following investigation after the ooze was defeated, and opened Wildemere & Grojsh shortly after.
