The Glacial Rift was a portal opened to the Plane of Ice in 894 PR, allowing the inabits of the frozen realm to cross over into the continent of Amusa.

The rift would open when a leyline surge caused during The Thelryan Restoration would interact with the frozen magics of The Ring of Winter's Wrath. This interaction caused a burst of planar magic and opened a rift to the Plane of Ice right in the tree of the Dryad Eleria. While the owner of the ring would flee fearing more planar catastrophe, the rift would remain open.
