Scua's School of Shadows

Revision as of 02:32, 10 January 2024 by Spiderjjr45 (talk | contribs) (Text replacement - "^(?!{{Worldbuilders}})" to "{{Worldbuilders}}")

Scua's School of Shadows (S3 for short, or colloquially the School of Sneaky Stuff) was one of the many magical institutions of the Champerty Kingdom in northwest Osugbo. The school focused on teaching its pupils the way of Shadow Magic, including, but not limited to: Shadow Sorcery, ShadowDancing, Shadow Blades, and more.

About

The School of Shadows had a clinical job, which was to educate and grow a force of shadow magicians under Champerty's rule, but also a political one. The School of Shadows operated a number of spies during Realm War I, who were sent around the world to lurk in the shadows of both enemies and allies.

The school could also give abilities to their students including the delegation of Hounds of Ill Omen.

Dream Mages

The School also operated a force of "Dream Mages" that reached out to Quelmarites all over the realm while they slept, using a powerful spell that allowed communication from anywhere in the world---but only during one's dreams.

The Dream Mages showed up several times in the OathWielders , ocassionally checking in on student Julian but most notably in their assignment of the quest of retrieving the relic of Lathander that posed a threat to their society. It was used to banish out even the darkest shadows with the light of the Morninglord--and must not risk falling into the wrong hands.

What became of the S3 after the Realm War is yet to be known.

Notable Students

  • Julian McFlair
    • Julian's mastery of Shadows would pass down through his family to his eventual descendant Zugs McFlair.
    • The School of Shadows was not pleased with Julian's involvement with the infamous group, and tasked him with improving their reputation. They did not want people corolating the school with the OathWielder's famous misdeed.
    • In return for Julian improving the team's reputation (by fielding questions at a tavern and doing a panel) he was awarded the ability to summon Hounds of Ill Omen.
