Wistil is a city located in the Luggland region of Amusa. Its most notable location is The Church of His Grace Lathander, a large church that the rest of the city steadily built up around.

Most of the city grew throughout the early PR era surrounding The Church of His Grace Lathander—a church which predated the restoration of Pelor, but eventually came around to integrating Pelorian worship whilst retaining many of their pre-restoration traditions and practices.
During the mid-400s PR, the leader of the church was Dawnmaster Niall—a Halfling who was broadly admired and took close interest in the city's residents, often involving himself in their lives to an arguably peculiar degree. He was not excessively fond of most children, however, as the local youths had made a joke of calling him a Gnome due to his large nose and quipping that "Garl misplaced one of his people!" The more bothered he became, the longer the joke persisted.
In 452 PR, Dawnmaster Niall reluctantly took in a Tiefling child named Maverick after the death of the boy's mother. He regarded the troubled youth as a "creature of the night" and thus assigned him to evening tasks (such as lamp-lighting and nave-sweeping) that most clergy members were forbidden to be awake for, in accordance with the dogma of Lathander. Under the Dawnmaster's tutelage, Maverick would grow up to receive accreditation from the church to practice social work—one of several programs conceived by the Dawnmaster over the years to keep tabs on the people of Wistil.
