"Go away"

Topaz dragons are a gem dragon known for being unfriendly and selfish. Though they are not malevolent, their erratic behavior makes any dealings with them unpleasant and dangerous.

About

The scales of a young topaz wyrmling are a muted yellow, accented with touches of orange. Over time, these scales intensify in color, eventually blending together so seamlessly that the dragon appears to be carved from solid topaz. As a topaz dragon matures, its eyes transform, losing their pupils and emanating a fiery glow, reminiscent of blazing orbs.

Inhabitants of the Elemental Plane of Water, topaz dragons make only occasional visits to the Material Plane, opting for remote shorelines or underwater caverns as their terrestrial havens. Despite their aquatic realm, they ensure their lairs remain arid.

Fond of basking on rocky ledges battered by the ocean's fury, these creatures relish the assault of the elements. While they generally show aversion to uninvited guests, they are inclined to engage in dialogue before resorting to aggression. They promptly deal with those they find threatening or dull, using their mastery over climatic forces to express their displeasure when outside, and resorting to their potent breath weapon or physical might within the confines of their lair.

Powers

Decay and despair are bound up in the nature of topaz dragons, thanks to the necrotic energy of the Elemental Plane of Water that suffuses them. Their psionic power manifests the fundamental entropic principle that mortal beings and their creations are ultimately doomed to death and decomposition, and the dragons' demeanor is typically morbid and curmudgeonly as a result.
