Longfang (also known as "Dippy") was a Green Dragon first identified in 825 PR in Isonhound.
The first known reference to him was during exploration missions into the foothills of the Northern Snowy Mountains. Adventurers were hired to investigate locations suspected to be the entrances into the lost Dwarven Citadel under the mountains.
About[edit | edit source]
Longfang was about 15 feet tall, and set up a lair for himself in the Northern Snowy Mountains sometime around 825 PR, bringing a notable change in vegetation and fog to the region, attracting the attention of Gammelgard. Little did Gammelgard know, the dragon himself had already been disguised as a dwarf and infiltrated the ranks of the city under the guise of "Dippy".
Was the nephew of the dragon Gideon
History[edit | edit source]
The Call of the Mountain[edit | edit source]
Arriving in Isonhound sometime between 795 and 825 PR from a newly-unlocked Kiston, LongFang settled north near the Northern Snowy Mountains. However, while settling in, he began to feel and hear a longing coming from under the mountains. Unbeknownst to him, the corrupted ancient wyrm Feredemius had found in him a new thrall. Promised power and wealth (after all a dwarven vault laid under the mountains), LongFang was instructed to get into the mountain's citadel by any means.
To LongFang this meant getting the help of the Dwarves on the outside that had settled into Gammelgard, as such, he began a long mission of infiltrating the The Order of the Watchful Eye, now calling himself Dippy the Dwarf Scribe.
He began finding thralls and allies of his own to help his cause.
Horatio Cheshire, Allie Extrodinaire[edit | edit source]
Mutated goblins in the region were soon found who professed their loyalty to a green dragon named “Longfang”. Additionally, orcs living in the region were apparently given the opportunity to swear allegiance to the dragon and, when they wouldn’t, they were run out of the foothills by the goblins.
Adventurers in the region soon grew suspicious as to what the dragon wants with the area in and around the Northern Snowy Mountains but the running hypothesis is that the dragon intends to move its lair into the area.
The existence of the mutated goblins has been attributed to a human alchemist by the name of Horatio Cheshire. The connection between Longfang and Horatio is still unknown.
Testing the Adventurers[edit | edit source]
"The nice thing about devout minions is that you can give them bum information and they will believe it wholeheartedly and pass it on to whoever tries to get it from them."
While working undercover in Gammelgard, Dippy manipulated Falgrim Norest into sending adventurers into the Northern mountains by having thralls of his (a group of Cheshire's Goblins) raid caravans traveling near the moutnains. The raids were a ploy by Longfang to draw out adventurers, test the mettle of whoever Gammelgard is asking for help and throw some shade in a different direction (and towards Horatio) to distract from his ongoing plans to break into the mountain himself and gain access to Feredemius underneath.
Mountain Unleashed[edit | edit source]
Making slow progress on his assigned mission, Feredemius eventually escaped during The Umbral Flood, now with his former "boss" has devoured the mountain and taken over much of Isonhound in the process, LongFang stayed under deep cover, biding his time and waiting to make his next moves, keeping safe in the bubble city of Gammelgard.
Powers and Abilities[edit | edit source]
