"It was a bit scary at first! I was all like..."Growl"...but it's quite useful! - Eldrina after turning into a T-Rex for the first time

About[edit | edit source]

Eldrina 'El' Nyx La Croix is the dhampir daughter of Rose La Croix and grand daughter of Edgar La Croix. She was named in memory of Rose's first husband, Eldrin, and after Rose's mother, Nyx.

She was described as having a "skin with an otherworldy hue", like a faint glow. She wore glasses, especially when lecturing.

Life as a Dhampir[edit | edit source]

Eldrina was born in 1170 PR to Rose La Croix, a vampire, and Darfin Kelrieth, a human. Against the La Croix court's wishes, Eldrina was mostly raised around humans. Rose, knowing that Darfin's lifespan was average, wanted her daughter to spend as much time with him as possible, seeing as she had nearly forever to get to know her daughter. El spent a lot of her early life with her father at The La Croix Institute, where he taught a course that dealt with the history of Kragnux.

Early in her childhood, around the age of 12,  El made contact with an artifact in her family's inventory-- a necklace belonging to Akasha, Queen of the Vampires. She had followed the sound of a woman singing which led her to an ornate box hidden within her family’s private library. It was then that Ella’s study with The Great Old One began. Little did El know, Akasha, was the very being that created vampires, thus, the sire of her grandfather, Edgar La Croix.

After Ella found the necklace, she was banned from the family’s library. Rose had the library magically locked off and guarded 24/7. Unbeknownst to Ella, there were secrets in the library that she couldn’t even fathom along with artifacts Rose wished to keep hidden. The only connection Ella would have to Akasha would be in the form of disjointed dreams. Dreams that made her question good and evil. Where did Eldrina stand in a world where both the light and dark touched her?

Following in Rose's footsteps...[edit | edit source]

Because of her family's resources, El was able to train and hone her skills as a warlock. She received the best schooling the world could offer. In addition to being trained in magic, El was also trained by vampires in the art of persuasion and deception.

Educator[edit | edit source]

Fueled by her natural curiosity, El began teaching alongside her father. In between archaeological expeditions, the two led classes together, discussing their findings with students from all over the realm. They worked together up until his death.

At scholarly parties, Eldrina would turn herself into animals as a party trick.

Personality[edit | edit source]

Eldrina can be described as intelligent, strong-willed, adventurous, brave, and just a little bit clumsy. Before her father's death, she was rather mousy, but since transitioning to living full time with her vampire family, she has become a lot more confident. To this day, Eldrina knows very little about her mother's past.

Present[edit | edit source]

Eldrina currently works at The La Croix Institute. She currently teaches The Great Discoveries of the La Croix Family, Dragons: Friend or Foe?, and Heritage Matters: The Preservations of our World's Artifacts. She spends her down time traveling.

Abilities[edit | edit source]

As a Dhampir, Eldrina was able to turn into a wolf, or a cloud of mist.

Eldrina's familiar was a small pseudodragon who she named Kragnux.
