Gideon Eldermourne is a (Weird) Medium who resides within his dorm at Briargreen College, where he is studying to become a historian of Newfaire. He is 25 (But looks 24 due to his current state as a half-Unabridged) and has been involved with Candela for about a year now after searching for a way to help Newfaire for Arc 2 of Qandela Obscura.
Physical Appearance[edit | edit source]
Gideon Eldermourne is a dashing young man at the height of 6'0" and has wavy, silver hair. He has equally silvery-grey eyes and often has the look of someone is watching him. He is often well-dressed and is seen shuffling a deck of tarot cards.
Personality[edit | edit source]
Gideon is a very curious individual who is very good to adapting to his enviroment. He is very protective of his oldest friend, Mara, and also others around him, even if it means putting himself in danger. When he is around people who are upper class, he is more of a gentleman compared to his usual, tricky self.
History[edit | edit source]
Gideon grew up in St. Clarity's Home for Mother's Children after his parents died at the age of 2 in some sort of freak accident. There, he met Mara, whom with her, gained a reputation as a troublemaker and a prankster at the orphanage and the connecting church. At the age of 14, he got adopted by the Eldermournes, a wealthy family who, as Gideon grew up and learned about, turned out to be very corrupt business people and wanted Gideon to be the same. Gideon, however, did not agree with thier ways and one night, took some money and evidence of their shady dealings and spent the money to go to college as a history major. His adoptive parents have told him to give them back their money and the evidence he took, but Gideon told them to either leave him alone and never speak to him again, or the evidence is going to the Periphery and he will expose them. Terrified,Gideon's adoptive parents obeyed and left him alone. Gideon, ate the age of 23, learned of a secret society called the Unabridged, who were created to help preserve tthe human life. This aligned with Gideon's desires to help people and prevent kids from having to go through what he went through as a child. So, he found where the Unabridged were located and after a while, went under the ritual to join their society. But something went wrong and Gideon ended up in a land of shadows that looked like Newfaire, it did not feel like he was in the afterlife, but he walked around the shadowed lands and ended up back in the real world where the members of the Unabridged told him while he is still alive, he technically did not fully succeed in the ritual and that he was only half of an Unabridged, forcing him to be silent about his condition as it would give them a bad name. Labelled as a freak to them, Gideon was sent off and a year later, he found Candela Obscura and was reunited with his closest friend Mara.

Gideon is supernaturally good at reading people, he can manpulate objects with his mind, and he can preform rituals to help protect people with a ritual.

Sister Amaranth: Gideon's childhood friend; They were well known to cause mayhem and mischief at St. Clarity's and often got in trouble together. Gideon was then sadly forced to be separated from her when he got adopted, but he never stopped thinking about her. Handsome as he is, he often refused the advances of women at college and instead helped them find their true loves with his tarot cards. Mara, as he calls her, was always on his mind when it came to love and so when he walked into the Central Teahouse and saw her, he was elated. He told her how he truly felt about her and the two have been going out ever since. Although they meet in secret places in fear of both the Unabridged and the Ascendency finding about their love. Mara, in fear because it is forbidden in her religion and Gideon, because he is afraid of the Unabridged finding out she knows about his connection to them.
