Kaia Prakseesin (also called Lily) was the cursed Liver daughter of Drakseeri Prakseesin.

The Praks family tree, connecting Kaia (daughter of Morella Praks) to the Liver bloodline (see far left column)

History[edit | edit source]

After finding herself alive again, Kaia returned home, only to find that her parents were temporarily restrained by city officials pending investigation. Instead, when she knocked on the door, she found herself being ushered quickly out of town by her grandfather (Drake's father).

After sailing across the realm to Galik, Kaia found herself penniless and looking to support her new hidden family. Kaia turned to the ShadowGuild, which does most of its recruiting from young helpless street rats like Kaia. Not wanting anyone to know that she was somehow resurrected, Kaia used the pseudonym "Lily". Lily would cross paths with her father's friends, The OathWielders, after two members Eve and Orris tried to track down the ShadowGuild and stop them from trafficking slaves.

Lily, recognizing the stories of Orris the Slave Saver as being tied up in the (now-realm-spread) tavern tales of the OathWielders, immediately stuck around the gang, subtly trying to figure out what happened to her Father and why he wasn't there with them.

Later, while adventuring with the team, Lily would learn the truth about HOW and WHY she came back to life, as the team's ally Ashley Angelbane explained a phenomenon plaguing the realm known as The Curse of Life. If Lily had somehow come back to life after The Abaddon, then Lily was part of this cursed bloodline. Knowing that she could never be killed, the survivor's guilt flooded poor Kaia, and she disappeared for some time to process the news.

Unfortunately, while hiding out in the sewers to think to herself, the ShadowGuild re-found her, knowing that she had been working with the Satyr that they were actively trying to have killed. The ShadowGuild kidnapped Kaia, and kidnapped her Grandfather as well, taking them back to the guild's headquarters to sacrifice to the Dark Powers in hopes that it would help the guild receive some mitigation of the Powers' recent attacks on their headquarters.

While kidnapped by the guild, the OathWielders once again came to the rescue, leading to a battle known as the Battle of the ShadowGuild. While Lily was able to help her new team members fight off the criminals in this battle, as it came to a close, Lily felt her cursed bloodline surge with power. She was being called upon by Nerull himself, who was using all of his cursed children to fight off an attack by The Raven Queen. LIly, now feral with vengeance, rushed back to the city streets to fight in an epic event known as The Griffon's Last Stand. Lily would be fighting alongside Orris, who had also recently died and returned. But the two of them would be facing off against their former friends and family....including one Drakseeri Prakseesin, who had finally escaped Nawfar and was coming to Galik to find his daughter.

They would meet briefly on the 3rd floor of the Citadel of the Griffon, coming face to face, and blow to blow. Drake, in a surge of tears and adrenaline, was able to hold his own daughter down and keep her incapacitated, an action that took him out of the battle as well. When the battle was finally won, the curse that kept Lily Living was broken, and as Nerull's pupeteering drained out of her blackened eyes, she could truly see her father again, and be cradled in his arms for moments before passing on----this time, for good.

Kaia's body would be bound and casked, taken to sea by Drake, where he would find his wife Morella on The AmuPter Front, and the two would share a burial at sea together, having lost, but found.
