Nuala is an Archdevil residing in The Ten Hells. She was formerly an Archfey of The Moon Court named Lady Lunari, before being deposed and descending into the Hells. In 894 PR, she was restored to her former archfey status by her daughter Luster and the heiress of the Moon Court Amaris Luanach.
Physical Appearance[edit | edit source]
Nuala's appearance is that of a combination between Eladrin and Devil. She has brilliant blue skin and elven grace to her form with long pointed ears. Though from her head extend two large red horns and batlike wings rise from her backside. Her ruby red eyes pierce the veil of her endless night. Even after her restoration, her appearance remained much the same, but with her fey features more exaggerated and her fiendish ones lessened.
Personality[edit | edit source]
Nuala has two conflicting personalities within her: that of her old kind and caring fey nature, and that of her rageful and hatful fiendish identity. Though as generations pass, her old identity is sunken deeper and deeper into the fiend she has become.
History[edit | edit source]
Duchess Nuala was once the Archfey Madame Cosmystia Lunari, ruler of The Moon Court, and with a daughter named Luster. Though through a coup within her own ranks the Satyr Bard Lady Celenica Luanach overthrew Madame Lunari. As Madame Lunari lay dying, she was reached out to by the Hells, and in a moment of desperation accepted their infernal offer, descending into the Hells, born again as an Archdevil under the name Nuala, Duchess of the Starless Sky. In the Hells she would serve in the court of Asmodeus in Nessus. After The Second Infernal Emergence, even after Asmodeus descended to rule Hellmar, she remained in Nessus to serve as an advisor for his daughter Glasya.
Centuries later Nuala reached out to the heiress of the Moon Court Amaris Luanach when the satyr heiress was in a moment of questioning her future, fueled by a rageful hatred of her mother. Seeing an opportunity in the satyr, Nuala forged a pact with Amaris. In return for Nuala helping Amaris to bring down the Moon Court, Nuala would got everything Amaris had and was, becoming Amaris' warlock patron and turning Amaris into a Tiefling.
But even though Amaris had given up on her own mother, she refused to give up on Nuala and believed she could be saved, that both of them could. Amaris would seek out Nuala's daughter, Luster, and reconnected Nuala with her daughter. But Luster was horrified by what her mother had begun, which sent Nuala deeper into madness.
When Amaris was kidnapped by Lady Luanach and brought to the Moon Court, Nuala came to fulfill her end of their pact, aided by Luster and Amaris' allies. After saving Amaris they confronted Lady Luanach. During the battle, Nuala fought one of Lady Luanach's allies, the archdevil Philani, and Nuala managed to send Philani back into the Hells. When Lady Luanach was finally defeated, Nuala attempted to drag the entirety of the Moon Court into the Hells, only to be stopped by Amaris and Luster who used the magic stolen from Lady Luanach to restore both Nuala and Amaris to their original fey states.
As the former ruler of the Moon Court, Nuala, now going by Cosmystia Lunari again, oversaw the coronation of her daughter as the new queen of the Moon Court.
