The Quelmar Wiki
More like Slumpter, am I right?

Sumpter is a town in northwest Woldlin on the continent of Isonhound. A small farming village, it appeared in Sick of this Shit, as well as a small appearance in a later Tale of Quelmar.

History[edit | edit source]

In 691 PR, Sumpter fell victim to Kleckless Racoba, who was seeking to destroy the woodlands nearby, as they were the housing grounds of Quelmar's remaining Dryad. Though Kleckless was successful in wiping out the last of the Dryad, his evil druidic magic seeped into the woods, causing adverse affects on the weather and inhibiting the growth of crops from miles away.

Conveniently, Sick of this Shit, teleporting from nearby Breme using the Boots of Breme, showed up in Sumpter and was immediately put on the case to find out what the issue was. It was only by happenstance that Doraleous stumbled upon tris own homelands being ravaged. While tree wasn't able to save tris family, tree banished Kleckless away, where he would stay for well over a century.

Much later, in the mid 750s PR, a group of New World Dryad, children of Doraleous, stumbled upon Sumpter when picking up a purchase of arcane spell components from the local shaman. However, these children had not been briefed about the outside world yet, and were HORRIFIED to find that the elves and humans in Sumpter had built their homes out of WOOD. Disgusted, the Dryads panicked, fought, cried, and eventually fled home, where they were comforted by Doraleous trimself.

Behind the Screen[edit | edit source]

  • The original town of Sumpter was pulled from a Wizards of the Coast Module, called Environmental Impact . As it appeared in the 17th game ever, it was still an era where Quelmar Adventures were mostly pulled directly from existing modules. Though the Druid Drylle in that module was swapped for Doraleous' mentor, introduced in Rwendia 10 sessions earlier.
