Aranwe is a Wood Elf Ranger who tracks wild spirits traveling between the Feywild and Material Plane. Since time flows inconsistently between these Planes, his experience with time is not always linear…making longterm bonds difficult and requiring him to endure long bouts of solitude. His longest lasting companion is a red-tailed hawk named Ronin, who he picked up during one of his prolonged stays in Prehistory. After unintentionally helping to instigate the flattening of Quelmar, Aranwe was swallowed up by the ground and his spirit was joined by Vilya—a Dryad he had fallen in love with—in eternity beneath the land.
Appearance[edit | edit source]
Aranwe is a lithe Elf with pointed ears, chestnut hair, and sharp green eyes which match his hooded cape. He keeps a polished longbow buckled across his back and his boots are crafted from the same brown leather as his archer gloves. His red-tailed hawk companion often rests on his shoulder.
Ronin[edit | edit source]
Ronin is Aranwe's fiercely loyal red-tailed hawk companion. In the early BR era, his spirit was reincarnated into an Aarakocra Ranger named Rooney.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Aranwe was briefly separated from the System Agnostic party after getting pulled into the future through a fey portal, leading into the events of King for a Day. Following this stint in the PR era, he was pulled through another portal beneath an abandoned watchtower and reunited with the System Agnostic party, for whom considerably less time had passed.
- Following Aranwe's sudden death during the flattening of Quelmar, his animal companion Ronin refused to leave his side and spent the rest of his days at the tree Aranwe was buried under. Moved by the red-tailed hawk's loyalty, an Archfey would later reincarnate his spirit into Rooney.
- Strangely enough, Ronin would be given new life a second time during the CR era after Ronny Retznem—a distant Human descendent of Rooney—was trapped in a computer simulation of past events which convinced him that he was actually Aranwe. Overcome with guilt over Ronin's fate, Ronny transferred his ability to manifest in the physical world to the simulated Ronin…enabling the red-tailed hawk to escape the simulation and become real once again.
