History

Dark Silvio was a hired and cursed Henchman of Two, known in life as "May you Choke and Smother". When "May" began a long alliance with a villain known as "The Paladin", she slowly grew a circle of devout followers including Three and Four. She would trick all of her followers into taking part of a great ritual that would utlimately cost them all their lives...But her first and most loyal follower was always Silvio.

Until the day that Silvio discovered "May"'s ultimate plan, to attempt to summon ancient and eldritch entities to bring Fires to Quelmar that could offset the prophecies of a forthcoming realm-wide Freeze, Silvio voiced ignorant and feeble concerns. Unfortunately, May needed a lackey, not a vizier.

With a simple casting of Geas, Silvio was never again able to voice any information about May's great plan. When prodded, interrogated, or asked why he seemed to be more aware of things than those around him, he was cursed to simply reply:

"Everything will become clear soon!"

Even after the Six sacrifices became the entity known as Countdown, Silvio (cowering at a safe distance during the ceremony) remained loyal to his boss, and upon realizing that the ceremony caused a dramatic transformation, continued to serve the full Countdown, knowing one day he could reunite with his original master, and perhaps get the Geas removed.

Shortly before Two's death, a band of heroes including Red, Kip, and Quiver were able to convince Silvio to backstab his master, as they were the first and only to realize Silvio couldn't share more because of a Geas, and his panicked tears bleeding through his catchphrase convinced them that he deserved a redemption.

He got his ass SO kicked by Two though, it's the thought that counts.

About

Dark Silvio speaks like a 1920s Chicagoland gangster, voiceable by any and all players at the table for any reason. When asked why he continues to follow Five around, his standard answer is:

Dark Silvio ran into his former lover Serge (pronounced serj) after being downed saving the Fransa Sig from a cult of fire-god worshippers. He has made no entreaties to his past otherwise. Dark Silvio is also one of the first characters to experience the Wall of Eyes that has started to haunt players in the Fantasial Freeze who have been close to death, along with Six and Throk. Silvio has drawn the ire of the Unravel, Ravel's underground thief network, for a presumed connection to the fire cult of Amaun. He has already been captured and escaped them once through clever tactics, deft skill, and Kara's help.

After accompanying their "Boss" on a voyage aboard the Arctic Express, Silvio witnessed Five reincarnate into Four, and saw a change in them that showed he was no longer needed to accompany them. Silvio said goodbye at the port of Tusgrer and headed off into the world, as inscrutable leaving as he was entering. They have delved into a Balabag church covered in dark ice together since parting, where Dark Silvio became Blowted through a bucket of Massimo's paint.

1. "Yous wouldn't believe it, but I was a northern Osugbo kid. I grew up like all kinds of kids up there - learning how to snare rabbits, picking the herbs mommy told me to for sister's fever, going right for the shins when a bully tried to mess with you. It wasn't much of a life, but I was scrappy. Paps built barrels out of wood. One day, as I was conoitering about a new patch of the woods, new to me of course, I found myself slipping down a little embankment towards a big creek. It all happened so fast - one second, I'm looking at a funny mushroom, the next I'm ass over teakettle into the drink. No thoughts in my head but trying to stay above water as the current carried me away." "When I cames to, the first thing I thinks is I'm in a dream or dead. Standing in front of me is the craziest person I've ever seen - their bottom half is a horse! And they're huge - I'm laying down like a bag of peat moss and they look like a giant. But what I notices next is the kindness in their eyes, the curiosity. They're looking at me like I'm looking at them! Maybe they're wondering where my back half went. Then, an even bigger one comes out - this must be Mama, and she's got a spear twice as long as I was tall. She talks to who I now know is the kiddo in some clip-cloppy words I don't know. Next thing I know, I'm being whisked away on centaur-back faster than the wind! I get dropped right next to the mushroom I was looking at, no idea how Mom knew where I fell in the creek. Some kind of nature whisperer. With that, I waddled my way back home to my parents and never spoke a word. I figured they'd think I was crazy, which I now know is true."
