At one point in 825 PR, Herneldo helped slay a Green Dragon alongside Cynthia, thinking that they were redeeming a bounty on the Green Stag. However, as that was the wrong dragon, they were punished by Yggwilv, and nearly died after being thrown into Yggwilv's Hut. They were lucky to have been saved by fellow adventurers who arrived shortly after with the actual head of the Green Stag.
