Return to The Paragon Protocol
Here are the major magic items and relics present in the Paragon Protocol Campaign.
3 Stage Magic Items
These unique relics and artifacts possess immense power, but it takes time for a wielder to become capable of wielding their full potentials. The more an attuned user uses these items, the more powerful they become.
The Book of the Dead
- Originally possessed by the ferryman Charon, this book catalogues the names and stories of all who have died and can hasten the deaths of those still alive.
- After Charon died the book was taken by Aliria Servine who unlocked all of the books abilities and later bound herself to it as the book's true keeper.
The Brand of Nessus
- The Brand of Nessus was a powerful amulet created by a former advisor to Asmodeus that allowed the advisor to charm creatures and siphon the souls of their enemies.
- At some point the Brand came into the possession of Governor Solme, commander of the Bronze Citadel where he used it to control the masses. After his defeat and death, the brand was claimed by the infernal cleric Nyrgoth.
The Golden Gauntlet of Tiamat
- This magical gauntlet was crafted by the dragon goddess Tiamat and was later gifted to the Black Dragon Onath Venomseer in return for Onath serving Barroth the Unredeemable in the Ten Hells.
- After Onath was slain, the gauntlet was claimed by the cursed barbarian Balaam.
The Chain of Tiamat
- This magical amulet was crafted by the dragon goddess Tiamat and was later gifted to the Black Dragon Greela Venomseer in return for Onath serving Barroth the Unredeemable in the Ten Hells.
- After Greela was slain, the amulet was claimed by the clockwork sorcerer Aivan Factorovich.
Verminshroud
- The Verminshroud was the cloak of the demon lord Ratatrosk.
- After being rescued from Ironfell Prison, Ratatrosk gave the cloak to the druid Dina as a thank you gift.
Edict's Edge
- Edict's Edge was a magical rapier crafted in the plane of law, Mechanus.
- At some point in history the blade's owner was murdered by the devil Belphagor. Later, having no use for it himself, Belphagor gave it to the elven rogue Sylphine Nightfall
