Markoth Dawnborn (any/all) was a Scourge Aasimar Paladin who had taken the Oath of Vengeance and swore to eliminate any dragonkin that seeks to harm life. Later he renounced the path of Vengeance, and took up the Path of Redemption, but now has been reborn as a Herald of The One That Waits.
Physical Appearance
Markoth was born a man, but has a very androgynous appearance due to their celestial nature. His divine background also bestows them with shimmering skin, golden eyes, and fiery red hair. Years of training with the Revengers has given them a very buff physique, which is covered by the Golden Dragon Scale Mail that he wears
Markoths appearance has changed somewhat after becoming a servant to The One That Waits. His skin has become tainted with shadow, his armor rippling with the energy of darkness. Giant black skeletal wings have emerged from his back, and his eyes are as empty as the void he emerged from.
Personality
Markoth is a very gung-ho individual, and is very chill, having as good of a time both on and off the battlefield. You would never guess from their actions that they a deep sadness for their lost family, but he had a hard time containing their deep hatred for dragonkin and any others that invoke their wrath. However, after meeting many Good dragons and being humbled by Bleucorundum, he looked back on his past actions and realized that his hatred was holding him back.
Undergoing another change after emerging from the void many months after his disappearance, Markoth has become a hateful, spiteful creature who only obeys the call of The One That Waits. His malice knows no ends, and his deceit has tricked even a god. The wisest course of action is to abandon hope of saving this one, for he no longer wishes to be saved.
History
Markoth Dawnborn used to be a normal human born to normal human parents. They lived peacefully in some far off farm town that's name has been long forgotten. His father Bob used to be an adventurer but put down is sword to live a life of peace after Markoth was born. Markoth never knew his real mother, as his father told them that she wasn't exactly made for the simple farmer life, but his father remarried to a local named Lorretta. Unfortunately, none of that matters as they and all the other no named villagers died in a dragon attack that razed the town to the ground. Markoth was the only survivor, as their mothers celestial blood ignited in their veins, shielding him from harm. Standing in the ruins of the aftermath, with everything and everyone he knew and loved burnt to a crisp, their awakened divine energy merged with their rage, giving them a burning desire to avenge the fallen and destroy the dragons that ruined their life. After that, he was trained by a group of Paladin's who had picked him up, teaching him their ways. It was with these paladins that Markoth chose to walk the path of vengeance, and swore to destroy every dragon on the face of the earth. Years later, after his training was complete, Markoth set out upon the land, eager to slay every dragon that crosses his path.
(Inbetween section I will come back to later that covers the sessions Markoth was in)
Not Much is known about what happened to Markoth after he was pulled into the void. Whatever cruel treatment The One Who Waits gave to his new guest twisted Markoth into a corrupted shadow of his former self. Gone are the days of the kind Markoth that wanted to right his wrongs. Now he stands against the forces of light to act out his Masters will upon the world, bringing any and all life into the darkness to share the same fate he suffered. A warning to whoever reads this, do not heed his honeyed words, for he has already tempted Silent, Demigod of Death into the service of The One Who Waits.
Philosophy
Markoth went on a personal journey after their meeting with Bleucorundum that set them upon the path of the righteous. No longer consumed by hatred of the dragon's that killed his family, Markoth now tries to find a peaceful resolution whenever possible. All souls have the capacity for good within them, and Markoth refuses to take anymore lives.
Like the other creatures who fell to the shadows, Markoth has become the yet another corrupted extension of The One that Waits themself. Existing at this point solely to extend the reach of the shadows and corrupt those in his path such that all will be one. Some work subtly and through trickery like the hags, other through brute force, like the shadow giants, but the end result is always the same, heralding the message, the mission, of the overlord: The One That Waits will see you soon
Powers and Abilities
Markoth's divine blood awakened hidden powers within themselves after barely surviving the dragon attack on their village. As such, they are now resistant to radiant and necrotic magics, can give someone a light amount healing by touching them with their Lay on Hands and their Divine Touch, and can ignite themselves with radiant light that burns so bright, it burns any who dares approach. Markoth training as a Paladin gives them access to Paladin spells, which lets them summon their Celestial Warhorse Seraph, as well as the ability to infuse their weapon with Holy Smites, a divine sense of nearby celestial or demonic foes, and the ability to channel divine energy onto their foes. He also is adorned in Golden Dragon Scale Mail, gifted to him by Bleucorundum, that allows him to be resistant to fire and give him many advantages against draconic abilities.
However, being bound to The One Who Waits gives one many abilities one would consider, unnatural. The extent of Markoths new powers are unknown, but adventures that fought him in the Snowy Mountains could see that once Markoth was stricken down that he would reform after a brief period of time. Further intel is required if we hope to have a chance at defeating this new foe
Attacks and Weapons
Markoth once used a glaive in combat, but abandoned their weapons after giving up on the path of vengeance. After taking the Oath of Redemption, Markoth only wields a shield into battle, out of fear that holding a weapon would give him the temptation to use it upon those who refused to yield.
Reborn as a Herald of The One That Waits, Markoth now rides into battle with a nasty scythe that he uses on those who opposes the will of his lord.
