The Crystal Moonwell is one of five artifacts protected by the remnants of the Ruby Court of Sardior. The items have an intimate connection to the Eros an ancient crystal dragon, who is said to have perhaps forged the item for use in the court. .

History

It was rediscovered by the realm when a troop of followers of Eros, known as the Lunarans, operating out of an abandoned holy site known as Rana Ndore. Under the Lunarans, the moonwell was protected for ages under the watchful eye of Echemus, a crystal dragon and descendant of Eros himself.

It was used in 826 during The Umbral Flood to protect the city of Seglock.

It was moved to the Northern Snowy Mountains during the events of The Battle of Five Lights, where it channeled the full power of the crystal seat of Sardior, and when its energies were combined with the other artifacts, ultimately empowered Sardior to take form once more.

About

The Moonwell must be activated under the light of a full moon. At the apogee of the evening (when the moon is at its highest) the well begins to bubble with a strange crystalline liquid. The liquid can be used to purify the effects of corruption and darkness, but more importantly, the well itself can be activated to create a force field of dragon-antipathic energies, which ward off any true dragons from entering a mile radius.

It's theorized this purpose was used to create exclusive, impenetrable chambers in which the powers of the Ruby Court could meet in peace and confidentiality.
