The Rakshasa were a race of enlightened humanoids who resembled Tigers. Unlike most beastfolk, the Rakshasa predates the Beastlands, and were created as the original chosen race of the good god Pelor, perhaps indicating that Tigers are in the image of the Rakshasa, and not the other way around.
History[edit | edit source]
The Rakshasa were built to be powerful and charismatic creatures, able to both bring together others in harmony, as well as fend off the various evils in the primordial Quelmar Realm. Though there is very little written history of ancient Quelmar, the tales that have been passed down through the ages paint the Rakshasa as being almost angelic protectors of the other races.
At some point in prehistory, the Rakshasa underwent a drastic and dramatic fall from grace, becoming cursed by fiendish powers and turned against Pelor himself. In typical Pelorian fashion, a crusade was mounted against the Rakshasa, who had fallen from grace.
Though the Rakshasa are considered ancient, extinct creatures in modern times, there have been a few fabled encounters. Modern records note that these Rakshasa are shells of Pelor's chosen people, instead full of fiendish blood and with wracked with evil purpose.
Racial Features[edit | edit source]
The features below list the Rakshasa as they existed after their fall from grace. Rakshasas make excellent sorcerers and warlocks. Almost all Rakshasa have adapted another humanoid identity that they use in public and to not raise suspicion.
