The Emerald Blade of Feredemius was an ancient and legendary weapon belonging to Feredemius the Emerald seat of the Ruby Court.

About[edit | edit source]

The Emerald Blade, besides being a powerful weapon, created a small protective ward around its wielder, an impenetrable shield in or out, theorized to be used to protect Sardior or a Thane during trips into dangerous territories.

History[edit | edit source]

Like Feredemius himself, it became lost to time and trapped under the Northern Snowy Mountains. In 826 PR it was rediscovered in the stone of the mountain on an archeological expedition which revealed a lost Sardior worship space.

The Lost Temple[edit | edit source]

The Temple was re-discovered after The Order of the Watchful Eye miners found a dig site in the darkness of Umbralhound. Inside, a guide known as Vincent was able to discover a number of dead animals and people scattering the grounds of the temple, as well as a group of spiders covered in a tar-like film. As the team dug deeper they found more giant spiders and a ton of methane in the aera.

Finally at the heart of the temple, they found the chamber holding the weapon. Five dragon statues adorned the walls with the center representing the Emerald Dragon. At the foot of the statue, trapped under massive emerald crystal growths, was the original artifact. Psionic voices of The One That Waits eminated from it, beckoning the wielder to subdue to Shadow Sickness. Unfortunately for the team, Vincent fell victim, and took the blade and ran with it.

Hopeville[edit | edit source]

While on the run through Umbralhound, Vincent accidentally activated the blade’s protective bubble. Now shielded from the shadow sickness again, Vincent found an abandoned village nearby and started helping refugees. Afraid to go back to Gammelgard after his accidental betrayal, he decided to go AWOL to stay here and make a refuge for a small number of people.

Things started off fine, but got dark real quick. A druid found their way to the newly dubbed “Hopeville” and started casting Wall of Stone to build a wall around the town. She wanted to leave, and the residents fearing an influx of other people and their already strained resources decided to kill the druid. Because they didn’t want to “Get their Hands Dirty,” the residents enlisted the services of some bandits to do it in exchange for getting to stay in Hopeville. This then sets off the people in a dark, downward spiral as they now need to prey on others that show up for the resources they are desperate for now that they have their own families AND the bandits to take care of.

Eventually he is tracked down, Grappled, Tackled, and Commanded to drop the Emerald Blade. Yoink!

The Battle of Five Lights[edit | edit source]

With the weapon back in the custody of heroes, it was used as part of the Battle of Five Lights to resurrect Sardior
