Julian Winter (also known as Janky Willis) was a criminal bard and charlatan who played a role in the final season of the Sick of this Shit Incorporated Campaign.
History[edit | edit source]
Julian (operating under the alias Janky) allied himself with Krik-Et after joining SotS Inc as he had taken a liking to the Kreen. Ignorantly, Janky followed Krik, even joining The Hunt for Zugs. However, following the events of the hunt, Janky was left in the ethereal plane. He would encounter an ally in the form of Killis who took him back to the prime material plane, where he could finish his sentence under SotS.
Janky then took on a mission ("Dance for Rain") that involved climbing the mountains of Pteris and convincing a Storm Giant to bring rain to the area. Being a very charming bard and a persuasive spirit, Janky took the mission on all by himself, climbing the peaks and eventually dining with a Storm Giant.
However, Janky's mission was interrupted when a portal opened up, summoning the giant (and incidentally Janky) and dropping them in the middle of the elf city Jewelspar.
Janky would go on to lead a faction of the Jewelspar army against the giant, who had entered an unstoppable rage. This was how he crossed paths with Juris, Vimes, and Duskella who appreciated his leadership abilities Duskella would go on to invite Janky to join her crew on The Shadow Queen, as she her self was previously a SotS Inc member, and, knowing the system inside and out, had a loophole she could use to pull Janky away from the company.
As Janky would be essentially breaking out of SotS Inc, he was given a magic item by his old friend Elza, a necklace that cast a perpetual form of nondetection on him, making him hidden from all the guild's scryers, and impossible to track down.
