About[edit | edit source]
The Steelhand Clan is Osugbo's largest and most ancient faction of Dwarves, whose histories even predate recorded time. Their tunnels traversed miles of length down and around the Dolm and Harm rivers, as well as portions located directly underneath of the Dolm Bay. Southeast of the bay, the tunnels raised up and filled the mountains of central Osugbo, where many sheltered in place during the Holy War. The Clan's power died out after a mysterious incident sometime after 200 PR, leaving behind endless barren halls and tunnels full of the Dwarves' final moments.
The survivors of the incident would continue to live in Osugbo, avoiding the ancient halls and opting to start new homes.
Steelhand Hall[edit | edit source]
Steelhand Hall was the central, massive, abandoned Dwarven forge, mine, and dormitory located deep under the central Osugbo mountains. Though still full of riches, the dwarves who occupied Steelhand were wiped out by a mythological beast whose appearance differs according to most accounts, but is generally agreed upon to be draconic in nature.
A map of Steelhand Hall later found its way into Zugs McFlair's hands, where he would later travel to. It was in Steelhand that he and his pet dragon Darastrix would battle to the death, leaving the two former soulmates at each other's throats.
Darastrix and the Keepers of the Teeth would later use Steelhand as a secret hideout in the months leading up to Tiamat's return.
Admiral Queasom (among thousands of other refugees) grew up in the Steelhand clan during The Holy War.
Other Steelhand Locations[edit | edit source]
The Knuckle[edit | edit source]
The Knuckle was a mining facility of the Steelhand Clan located just south of the Dolm bay. While the main Steelhand Clan was defeated in battle, the Knuckle was defeated by a dangerous supernatural curse known as Glitter Madness.
The StoneFist[edit | edit source]
The StoneFist was a small central housing catacomb located approximately halfway between the main Hall and the Knuckle. It was here that a group of Orc invaders were found and slain by The Best Around, and where Kragnux helped slay his first dragon: the newly awoken herald of Tiamat Vezoth.
Stuckey's[edit | edit source]
In the Deep Winter of 921 in the tunnels beneath Steelhand Hall, named for their predicament of being stuck underground during the Holy War, a small bar hosted a grand opening of tavern games, food, ales, and fine dwarven spirits for its war weary patrons. The humble beginnings are shrouded in mystery, as on the night of the opening there was a large explosion which nearly destroyed the first location of the now famous chain. The tavern was run by a veteran of the war Fentilfarth Steelhand, a notorious and hearty drunk, who gained ownership of the bar on the night of its chaotic debut.
Hodlingar[edit | edit source]
An established mining community located on the eastern fringe of the old halls. After the incident, it was where many the Steelhand descendants lived. Was struck by a terrible collapse sometime around 800 PR.
