Dug is a male grung who lives deep in the marsh land. Even amongst the grung, Dug is a odd ball as he tried to befriend with “foods”: birds, rats, and squirrels. All of his friends (critters) die a painful death after touching Dug poisonous skin which Dug interpreted it as the world rejecting him. His unusual actions are looked down upon by his other tribe members so he lives seclusive from them.

One day, he was swimming and soaking in the swamp until he hears loud croaking from the tribe huts, he decided to leave his fun time and looked for the noise. What he saw was a scene out of nightmare, his fellow grungs stomach are cut opened and lay dead. Several humans wearing cloaks and white robes were storing their poisonous sacks/glands in rag bags. Dug felt happy for a moment seeing how they got what they deserved for calling Dug weird yet his heart was filled with rage. He decided to stealthily took some humans out using the trees as cover. Each poisonous kills provided him with ecstasy as bubble foam build up from his victim’s mouth. As time went on, the humans noticed some of them were missing and they searched for the perpetrator. Dug was caught but was able to escape with minor injuries.

After recovering, he decided to venture out from the swamp to the nearest human settlement to find the humans who kill his tribes. However, he avoid kill human without reasons in town because he knows it will make him getting chase down again.

However, if the enemies are immune to poison, he change his strategy to use monk many attack to grapple the enemy and bring them closer to allies.

Attacks and Weapons [edit | edit source]

Dug to use his first to do the talking but he also uses a normal size wooden staff (which is huge for his size) with a pointy metal at the end and a longbow with arrows coated with his own poison.

Dug Other Arts[edit | edit source]

Here are some character arts for Dug during his early character initial concept

Currently in the Story[edit | edit source]

Dug followed a dragonborn named Darakhas because he had never seen one before and ended up in front of a tower with a circle of magic that prevented noise and deity power. Upon entering, Dug split up from the party and climbed up the side of the tower wall, finding more humans. There, he first met Silent, a demigod of death, whom he follows. They did an awesome combo called "Silent Takedown" where Dug would grab unsuspecting people from the window and throw them out of the tower and circle where Silent could easily finish them up. If he somehow fails the athletics for grappling, the poison skin will apply a poison condition making the next attempt better. The party fought 5 clerics, deactivated the silent circle, and met Dug, who has killed 6 human cultists. Upstairs, they found an obsidian dragon egg where he tried to steal it before someone realized. Then, he sacrificied it to Silent as a thanks and pact for more future cooperation. After some debate, the group heads to the top where they find Echemus, bound by magical chains, surrounded by a cultist sapping his power.. We tried our best to kill the cultists and free the dragon; however that proved to be difficult, as the tower is self-destructing which threw of Dug from the top. After a couple of minutes, the tower crumbles, although the dragon survives the impact with Herne do from the party (who is a human that will meet Dug many times). After some names and words that is proven to be out of Dug small brain, it flew off.

A month went by and Dug was at the tavern asking him, "Are you here for the quest?" which he just bluffed and said yes. Now, he is in a room with many humans signing this contract called N.D.A. He doesn't know what that means; however, he knows Herneldo is there, and it seems dangerous from the way that the contractor talked about it, so he joined just to watch Herneldo demise. (He also just drew a pe**s, on the N.D.A. because he doesn't have a signature). A few days went by and the party arrived at a mining site and was equipped with a couple of small, expensive and tasked with investigating missing miners. Dug and the party went under and found rotting corpses and skeletons of the previous miners. They also found that the path deeper into cannot be light up trough normal mean so Arlin, the cleric cast sunlight to dispel and now we are fighting 5-6 feet insects (that is IMMUNE to poison) which were easily disposed off however the tortle wizard, Kaba did blew himself up with explosive and fireball trying to fend off those insects (he split up from the party early on). The party then looted the mining shaft of what's left, found more gems, more stones, more dead bodies, and a convenient portal to the shadowfell, which Dug sticks his head inside to see what's up. He just found another shaft that looks similar to this with funky color (didn't get punished yay). Everyone was cheering and some of them got invited by Arivata to join Protector of People (POTP); Dug was sad that he was not given one and got refused. One of the members of Ironhawks that were there also refused to take the lovable murder hobo in. Hereafter, Dug left with D'kracilius and went to the Church of Silent, where killing is accepted.

Dug misdemeanor and adventures continue on when he receives a letter of invitation from "The Baron" for a ghost extermination request (the letter was read by D'kracilius). Dug sure that the attendee was someone else, but he went to "The Baron" mansion and found it to be undecorated even though Sparklemas is approaching. Consequently, Dug met with Herneldo again and they bickered before the butler arrived. On a turn of events, the butler seeing his master distressed and acting weirdly after the death of his wife, sent letters to the adventurer. The baron heard about this and was fuming at his butler for taking unnecessary action, but the tail of PoTP, Reylendor was able to convince the baron that what he servant did was right and the party is here to prove it (however, she also threatened him with wrath of POTP because his name commonly appear in shady dealings). The baron then reluctantly allowed the party to stay for the night. Dug confronted Reylendor about him being rejected by Arivata so Reylendor decided to bring Dug in to POTP after the quest ended (which is weird. however, Reylendor does owe her soul to Silent, which might explain why he would ever get invited to the good guys table). The baron told the party that his nightmare had become more real as time went on; he said a week ago, he saw the living room was engulfed in flames at midnight. The party did some scooby-doo murder mystery trying to find some clues but to no avail, so they decided to camp-out for the night in the living room. Dug tried to sneak out of the party and try to sacrifice the baron's wife's ashes to Silent, but he was caught by Reylendor who just turned a blind eye. Dug tried to sacrifice it; however the soul had already departed the realm. Midnight fell, the fireplace burnt brighter, bones and metals started to clack from the wall, and the undead appeared. The party thwarted it off, however it was too easy — Bam! A soldier riding a skeleton horse burst out from the fireplace ambushing the party. The horse separated from its owner and started attacking Dug (Dug cannot poison it) and the other handled the leader. The skeleton leader who was once a kid that the baron turned away during Christmas and left freezing outside in the snow, has died and is here for revenge. One after another, the party health depleted although trough a broken combo of constant grapple and restrained on the boss, we were able to whittle it down. Yay, the party took a deep breath of relief before the living room started to burn in fire as fire elementals appeared (which are immune to poison it). The party barely keep their life together by constantly chugging potions and getting healed trough spells. Finally, we were able to take down all the fire elementals and the souls were put to rest. The baron came out of his sleep chamber during this commotion and saw all this horror. He was mad, but suddenly a maiden soul formed in the air to comfort the baron (it was his wife). The wife told her that he should furnish the house with Christmas decorations because all of this happened because he disrespected the spirit of Christmas. We gain the baron's favor and a lot of money. Before we left, Reylendor invited Xander and Dug to PoTP, which we accepted.

Xander and Dug went into the PoTP and Dug did not receive a warm welcome there, especially from Arivata. Dug did not hide his intent to kill off all humans, however, he learned that some humans are cockroaches like Herneldo are hard to kill, and some humans, like Xander, are not a threat. Arivata finally caved in after Xander said that Dug should not be blamed for being racist because his family was killed and everyone would be terribly affected; putting Dug as the victim. Reylendor also said that sometimes to be the hero, we have to use some underhanded tactic and use fire against fire. Dug is now under watch and will try his best to follow the PoTP rule; however he cannot promise it.

During Decemeber, Xander and Dug went on their first mission together, becoming a sellsword for hire, a mercenary group who took task killing off bandits, and if they are bandits of humans, they are on top of the priority list. Their name started to be known and Dug using connections from people who hired him and just general intimidation tactics was able to find clues on who killed his tribe members: The Padlock Gang, The Kol Company, Skull Crusher Clan, The Ironfist, or The Silver Design.

[Megagame][edit | edit source]

Dug was hanging around the PoTP base when a huge flying ship destroyed the front lawn. Most of the members were tasked with investigating the snowy mountain of a dwarven mine, but since everyone went, Dug decided to join them. Suddenly, a portal rift tears through space and three hags come out with an army of shadows and a terrible infection. Many dwarves started to die as Dug ignored their well-being to be a murder machine. Drang, a barbarian bugbear, was edged by Silent to follow his intrusive thoughts. Drang attacked Dug and it almost knocked Dug off the mountain they're on (Dug is fine and forgave him). The battle continues, and even Silent, who was watching the battle, was pulled out to the battlefield from thin air. All of the PoTP members fought valiantly. However, the infection had almost become fatal and they had to fall back. The reinforcement came and Dug was the final person to left. Before leaving, he saw D'kracilius as one of the reinforcement and he teleported high and slowly gave hima potion of greater healing. He found himself taking a rest in a swamp recovering from his wounds until he heard a voice calling for help. He ignored it, and he shall learn that it was a mistake.

A couple of days passed, Dug heard news from Hugo Clarion and D'kcaa- whatever his name is that Silent accepted Toei's deal and now they're part of the other stronger God of death. Dug didn't like the idea and so are the others; some leave the cult and some stayed. Dug felt frustrated, the first person to help him commit murder on humans when he left the swamp got demoted, he couldn't sit still. He felt bad that he was hanging around instead of helping during the conflict and swore vengeance for them (Deep down, he was doing it for himself not others). Dug then became a traveler since he lacked knowledge of the civilizations. Dug met with Martin, a nomad shoe cobbler, who created him mop shoes so he doesn't let out mucus and poisoned the PoTP base. As payment, Dug gave Martin a sage advice of "Feed a human a grung, they live for a day. Teach a human how to kill a grung, they massacre your tribe." and also a divine pickaxe which he vomited out from his body. He then departed only to meet with Martin on a next adventure.

Dug, Martin, Reylendor and several new people arrived at a tavern to receive a quest where they were to rescue some explorers who went deep into a mine. All of them accepted it, and Vincent, a stoic, pale human who stares and talks weirdly, showed them the way. The mine was covered in shadows that sapped away the user's power, but Vincent carried a lantern that had fireflies that dispelled the darkness. Upon entering, they found multiple animal corpses and spiders on them (which Dug ate). The lizardmen in the party tried to hit a spider. It exploded with tar and covered the party with a tarlike substance that made everyone feel powerful. Reylendor cast a sacred flame to remove it from us (except for the lizardmen). The party continued deeper and smelt a strong methane smell (very explosive). Dug tried to climb the wall but triggered the webs, making spiders come to them and all of them fought it before going deeper using an elevator. The lizardmen on desperate attempt after getting hit by multiple spiders chomp the spiders and his body paralyzed. Dug swore to not eat anymore of these spiders. After finishing that, they went deeper and found a hole leading to the escapee where they saw 4 warriors statues facing a dragon statue in the middle with a sword stuck in it. All of the party members rushed to pull out the sword and failed. Vincent then came along and pulled it out easily and they looted the cave before they left. Dug found 2 valuables star chart but ended up swapping his treasure with Reylendor with couple of potions that leave a devastating wound upon impact or application on weapons. Upon leaving, the lizardmen cast fireball into the cave.

Dug and group of spellcaster (including Reynaldo) were tasked to help Sro go to the blue corrundum cave traversing trough the shadows. During that period, the corruption of the shadows kept telling him "that nothing matter in the end". He tried to not let it get to him. After a couple of dry skin from not finding water and close call of meeting Towie, Dug arrived at blue corrundum cave where he received large sum of money and decanter of endless water.

[Approaching End — The Mind of a Grung][edit | edit source]

After months of failing to contact Silent (I rolled low), Dug was left to his own device. Most cities have strengthened their security and bandits roam the shadows claiming treasures left behind by people. He would venture out and kill the bandits. But after the last encounter with the shadows, he feared and doubted himself because "nothing matters in the end". The vengeance he's been seeking seemed to be less important than what is currently happening — the world is ending after all. In fact, his entire existence is a side character. No one will now remember the tale of Dug, he's just a random Grung who hates humans, and that's if they even remember it at all. Even though the shadows are not corrupting him, the words left behind still haunt him.

Then, comes the news of a new book that turns people into Silent Cults — robbing people out of their choices. He suddenly feels anger, actual anger that he didn't feel from his previous vengeance. His chance at life, families, and friends had all been robbed away, since he was little either by his own fault or others (the humans). He knew he had snuffed most people's choices, but it was okay because the people he fought for should also know that in the business of banditry and cultism, they were going to die. He continued to ponder on how he should feel because after spending time with the good guys at PoTP he learned some common sense and goodness. Maybe, not all humans need to be dead; they're not the problem. Maybe, he is the problem. The one that brings bad luck, a terrible omen. Everyone who contacted him had been in trouble: Silent, D'kacilius, the little critters back home etc. Yes! That's it. Dug who felt little, knew what to do. He needs resolve, determination to fix the problem at hand, and the most symbolic way for him to close his past is to end the person who first lent a hand, Silent. After that, he can go back home, feeling good that he tried or failed to succeed. "It's the best closure as a side character to go out with a bang. I can live my life in seclusion so no one shall suffer bad luck" he said.

He spent weeks creating many viking boats with Silent flags and lit it up in flames. He pushed it into the river, making sure the message spread around. The faction of Anti-Silent that had been steadily building must know that they have people supporting them. It's time to strike. The dragons on the blue corundum cave questioned him if it's a good idea, and he said "I must do this for me". Suddenly, he heard D'kacilius (pro-silent) on death's door being carried by Drang (who's anti-silent). He's a personal translator on the ground. He shot his bow and teleported into the scene, trying his best to help cure his friend. His efforts were a failure: splashing his face with a gallon of water, and trying to get a cat to lick his wound close. He sat next to D'kacilius, thinking that the war they were having was not worth it. After repenting, he realized that war/fight is going to occur no matter what; it's the perfect time for evil to strike to take advantage of the chaos. Thus, he went back to get information on what makes Towie mad and planned a diversion so they could have the fight without outside interference.
