The Topaz Astrolabe is the gem artifact of Tuschello the original Topaz dragon thane, serving under Sardior in the Ruby Court.

After being activated for the first time in millennia, the Astrolabe gave off the equivalent of dust off an old book, except in this case it was the energies of the original Ruby Court, the last echoes of divine spark from a time long forgotten. When this occurred it passed that spark into the 6 heroes who had activated it: Tristram Caniedydd, Grandmush, Ona, Spinel, and Draennac.
During 825 PR the Astrolabe was relocated to Gammelgard where it was set up to protect the city against The Umbral Flood.

It looks like a hollow crystal sphere with constellations etched on the outside, while a topaz gem representing the sun magically suspends itself in the center.
When activated, the Topaz Astrolabe can open a portal across the stars, allowing for quick travel through the universe via the Astral Sea. This could be used to even speak to the souls of the dead if they were still lingering, such as Tuschello himself.
