Ash Oakriver is a fairy smuggler hailing from Galik working for the smuggling gang simply known as the "Powder Keg". Though she might be small, Ash is one of the gang's lead enforcers; muscle to ensure things like payments, safety of shipments, and the removal of rival smugglers from Keg territory. Smuggling though isn't the only gig Ash has, for if you have the coin to hire muscle to protect your enterprise, legitimate or not, Ash can be a small but fierce addition to your enterprise.

In terms of mechanical descriptions, Ash is a character in "Within the Wicked Wilds". She is a Drunken Master Monk with a smuggler background.

Physical Appearance[edit | edit source]

Ash is a fairy woman, meaning she is short, and light. Measuring in at around 4'0" (though you'd be dead if you mention it) and weighing around 80 pounds, Ash does not strike the pose of criminal muscle. The teal colored hair, and bright blue fairy wings don't help with this either (though often times when she does not need them, she covers herself in a wrap or old cape so they don't prove distracting when in negotiations). Most notable about her physical appearance though is the fact that she has Heterochromia; two separate eye colors. Though more common among fairies than other humanoids, it only adds to draw attention to the angry small person who looks like an artist dumped paint all over.

Personality[edit | edit source]

Ash has the nickname "Short Fuse" for a reason. She is often the first into a fight (and sometimes the one who starts it). She is quick to provoke and she is quick to provoke back. Besides that though, if you get on her good side you can find Ash enjoyable company (usually through the form of paying her for jobs or proving you can hold yourself in a fight). She also is loyal to those who pay her, making it a point to ensure that the job she gets paid to do is completed to its full, regardless of what it is.

History[edit | edit source]

If you ask Ash where she comes from, she will say "The Feywild". If you ask her how she got to Quelmar, she'll say "I don't know, I remember only living here". Ash has no memory of the homeland of fairies, and generally has spent her entire life living in the underbelly of Galik. When she was young, she was effectively adopted by a gang of smugglers, the "Powder Keg". As she grew up, Ash earned a reputation for herself as an enforcer, being the gang's muscle when needed, as well as being a general hired brawler on the side. Yet, her true home lies with the gang that raised her.

The only connection she has to her home is a wind-fan that she has had on her person for her entire life. The wind-fan is a magical item, but Ash has no idea why she had it since being a child.

Ash Gets a Job with the Tempest Brothers[edit | edit source]

Smuggling though can only get a lady so far you know. In times of financial hardship, Ash and other members of the Powder Keg take on various odd jobs. Ash's jobs are mainly enforcer or bouncer level jobs, and when she noticed job openings for a job with the Tempest Brothers, she took it. Little did she know this job would lead her to getting almost beaten to death and eaten by a giant zombie monstrosity while a happy-go-lucky person in very intimidating armor, a barbarian with a foul mouth, a cleric, and a person who got so mad they turned into a rat, all fought these things to death. Ash wasn't sure if it was fear or excitement that made her hands swing rapidly, but at the end of the day it netted her a big pile of gold! Surely this is but the beginning of good things to come!

Languages[edit | edit source]

Ash mainly speaks Common, but she has an innate understanding of Sylvan that comes from being a fairy.

Powers and Abilities[edit | edit source]

Ash's powers and abilities start at the end of both her arms. Her fists are her weapon of choice, and all other actions and abilities flow through them, usually into the faces of her enemies. With a wide array of "tavern brawler" techniques and skills, Ash is more comfortable in a bar fight than any martial arts dojo or situation. She also has innate fairy magic that she can call upon once in a while, but since magic isn't really her strong suite, this is very limited.

Attacks and Weapons [edit | edit source]

Ash generally attacks with her knuckles and feet, delivering a series of blows from her fists as she wails on her enemies. It is rumored that she possess a pair of metal gauntlets to aid in this. She also possess the aforementioned mysterious wind-fan which can do wind attacks against her enemies
