A Choir of Guardian Angels

This short lived team name referred specifically to the grouping of Grindseed, Red, and Blumenthal, which they used briefly until their formal induction into the Free Defenders and AFEW.

AFEW

AFEW For the Many or just AFEW were a group of elite characters of intrigue dedicated to finding out more about the re-appearance of the Tools of the Primordial Ancients. Based out of Galik, they were led by a paladin named Dutharr. AFEW (which stood for Air, Fire, Earth, Water) sought several leads and stories to try to piece together the big picture.

The most notable course of action taken by AFEW was the capture of the Crown of Empyrosis, one of the four artifacts. The group would later enact Operation Cornflame Moon to convince the world that the crown was no longer in Galik (It was Dutharr's priority to keep as much danger out of Galik as possible and that included people looking for the Crown).

After Dutharr's death, AFEW was disbanned, though the members still attributed themselves "The Few for the Many", the group worked independently, with no central leader or headquarters.

Funnily enough, in the meeting for group names, other alternatives proposed included "The Camel Crusaders", "The Humping Heroes", and "Rock and Roll". It probably doesn't need to be explained, but AFEW stands for "Air, Fire, Earth, Water" since they were hunting the elemental tools. Dutharr also had some alternative names for the group including The Prime Material Men, The Quelmar Commanders, The Realm's Resistance, and The World's Warrior.

The Ellipses

The Ellipses is the name of the lateen-rigged caravel owned by Lone Twin and hired out to the former members of AFEW as well as the many new adventurers encountered in the cosmopolitan port town of Warukami. The resulting team was nearly double the size of AFEW, resulting in a new emboldened group ready to take on the Grumbaran hold.

Notable threats the Ellipses faced included:

• Frori the Ice Queen
• Vengeful Sahuagins
• PIRATES!
• The Luring Lights of an Aboleth graveyard
• Grumbarans (twice)
• Golkont the first time
• Golkont the second time

On that last battle against Golkont, the ship was sunk, along with everyone and everything on board.
