Here are the major magic items and relics present in the Paragon Protocol Campaign.

3 Stage Magic Items[edit | edit source]

These unique relics and artifacts possess immense power, but it takes time for a wielder to become capable of wielding their full potentials. The more an attuned user uses these items, the more powerful they become.

The Book of the Dead[edit | edit source]

  • Originally possessed by the ferryman Charon, this book catalogues the names and stories of all who have died and can hasten the deaths of those still alive.
  • After Charon died the book was taken by Aliria Servine who unlocked all of the books abilities and later bound herself to it as the book's true keeper.

The Brand of Nessus[edit | edit source]

  • The Brand of Nessus was a powerful amulet created by a former advisor to Asmodeus that allowed the advisor to charm creatures and siphon the souls of their enemies.
  • At some point the Brand came into the possession of Governor Solme, commander of the Bronze Citadel where he used it to control the masses. After his defeat and death, the brand was claimed by the infernal cleric Nyrgoth.

The Golden Gauntlet of Tiamat[edit | edit source]

The Chain of Tiamat[edit | edit source]

  • This magical amulet was crafted by the dragon goddess Tiamat and was later gifted to the Black Dragon Greela Venomseer in return for Onath serving Barroth the Unredeemable in the Ten Hells.
  • After Greela was slain, the amulet was claimed by the clockwork sorcerer Aivan Factorovich.

Verminshroud[edit | edit source]

  • The Verminshroud was the cloak of the demon lord Ratatrosk.
  • After being rescued from Ironfell Prison, Ratatrosk gave the cloak to the druid Dina as a thank you gift.

Edict's Edge[edit | edit source]

  • Edict's Edge was a magical rapier crafted in the plane of law, Mechanus.
  • At some point in history the blade's owner was murdered by the devil Belphagor. Later, having no use for it himself, Belphagor gave it to the elven rogue Sylphine Nightfall

Runes of the Shattered Mountain[edit | edit source]

Each member of the Ordained held their position because each were bestowed a rune of great magical power from the lost giant goddess, Othea, the Shattered Mountain. While in their possession, these runes gave the Ordained incredible abilities and allowed them to resist the magic and attacks of all archdevils. It is believed that if all of the giant runes are acquired and taken from their giant holders, they can be used to remake the River Styx.

Cloud Rune[edit | edit source]

  • The Cloud Rune is possessed by the Cloud Giant Stratia Nimbus and was imprinted on her metal blindfold. The rune makes her as fast as the wind and gives her the ability to run on wind currents.

Hill Rune[edit | edit source]

  • The Hill Rune was possessed by the Hill Giant Angrboda and was imprinted on her massive dragon bone great club. The rune greatly increased her strength and gave her the ability to smite her foes with thunderous power.
  • After Angrboda's death in Malsheem, the rune was taken by the archdevil Glasya.

Fire Rune[edit | edit source]

  • The Fire Rune was possessed by the Fire Giant Vorgath Embermaul and was imprinted on his forges hammer. The rune improved his creations and gave him greater control over fire.
  • The rune was taken from Vorgal after his death in his forge in Drossmere.

Frost Rune[edit | edit source]

  • The Frost Rune was possessed by the Frost Giant Hrothgar Icevein and was imprinted on his staff. The rune allowed Hrothgar to create constructs out of ice and allowed him to conjure massive blizzards.
  • The rune was taken by Aliria Servine after Hrothgar was killed in battle above the seas of Stygia.

Stone Rune[edit | edit source]

  • The Stone Rune was possessed by the Stone Giant Waord and was tattooed over his heart. The rune gave his skin the strength of stone and strengthened his clerical abilities.
  • The rune was taken by Nyrgoth after Waord was killed in battle in the back alleys of Dis.

Bel's Golden Aegis[edit | edit source]

  • This golden breastplate was worn by the infernal warlord Bel.
  • It was taken scavenged from his corpse after he was slain during the archduchess Elytria's execution and is currently being worn by the clockwork sorcerer Aivan Factorovich.

Styxian Wine[edit | edit source]

  • Styxian Wine is distilled water from the River Styx that allows people to drink away their sorrows by temporarily erasing their memories.
