Stealth Squad was a faction of heroes originally assembled to carry out an infiltration mission during Operation Bonds of the Earth, but would persist beyond this original purpose as its members continued to rally under this team name throughout their quest for the Tools of the Primordial Ancients.
History[edit | edit source]
The original members consisted of Caoilfhoinn, Blumenthal, Chet, Maverick, Ynnis, and Aritian. Initially labeled simply as Team Infiltration, Chet and Ynnis shouted "Stealth Squad!" as a rallying cry and the new name stuck.
The team's goal was simple—sneak into the Grumbaran Temple hidden within The Howling Crag and create an opportunity for the phase two team to swipe the Staff of the Marsh before the Banites had a chance to. Their loose plan included Maverick bestowing his Blessing of the Trickster to give the team a stealth advantage and casting Disguise Self to appear as one of the Grumbaran priests in case they were spotted. However, their plan quickly derailed as the Banites broke into the temple sooner than anticipated and laid waste to the Grumbarans. In the chaos of battle, however, the heroes still managed to make off with the Staff—but at the cost of the phase two team being taken into custody by the Grumbarans for a brief time until Coseismus was able to negotiate their freedom.
Towards the end of their journey, the team very briefly rebranded as the Shadow Squad before ultimately being dissolved. Maverick and Ynnis would go on to form part of Team Stabby at the final Arctic Altercation, relying on their prowess for stealth to finish one last job.
