Elves are a long living humanoid race of fey creatures found commonly all over Quelmar, having arrived in Prehistory long before humans.
About[edit | edit source]
Elves are notable for their immunity to magical sleep, meaning that many of them can use sleeping magic on groups without threatening their kin.
Pterish elves sometimes have darker skin, which is possibly an evolutionary response to high amounts of ultraviolet radiation from the nearby Plane of Fire.
Subraces[edit | edit source]
Sun Elf[edit | edit source]
Sun Elves were a subrace of High Elves, found commonly around Jewelspar, who had a brilliant bronzed or golden sheen to their skin. Other elves consider Sun Elves to be some of the haughtiest or arrogant of their kind. Sun Elves, especially those in Jewelspar who have been around for centuries, considered themselves the sole protectors and inheritors of Corellon's legacy.
Snow Elf[edit | edit source]
Snow Elves were a subrace of elves found commonly in the winter regions of Breme, having ventured there in some point during Pre-History to avoid the conflicts raging across Quelmar during the early years of the realm. Snow Elves are noticeably paler than their kinsman, attributed to the colder climate of Breme. They are the most resilient to the cold environment. Snow Elves are the most practical and least haughty of the elves due to the nature of their environment (its hard to be arrogant and prideful to other races when you are living in the arctic fighting to survive). Snow Elf mages also have a predisposition to fire and ice based magic, with many mages favoring those two styles of spells for attacks and utility purposes. Snow Elves also do not live in centralized states or societies like their elvish cousins on other continents, instead preferring a more tribal based society across Breme, where each tribe fends for itself, engaging only in trade and mutual cooperation with each other rather than state creation.
Notable Factions[edit | edit source]
Elesia[edit | edit source]
The Elysian Elves of Elesia in Bigaji-Ho thrived in the era of dragons before The Holy War and the Troverth Dynasty forced them out of the area. They prized themselves as being the most charming of all of Quelmar's elves, to the point that they themselves even knew how to seduce the most ferocious dragons to be a loyal steed. After The Holy War, in which Elysians found themselves in the center of a civil war, many elysians filled the need to dominate with the study of necromancy.
