'''Reason why Hostile: Is Blowted''' |
|||
A noble leader and friend of [[Oswald]], he was the original teacher and trainer that helped Oswald get into the Paladin lifestyle, but unfortunately contracted Wendigo disease early on in the freeze. |
|||
After becoming trapped and infected, Orthin's vessel also became a vessel for a Blowt, likely coming to Davenwood to finish their own mission of vengeance. But Orthin (and the Blowt inside) were killed when the heroes struck it down. It is not known what or where Orthin's soul is now. |

Allies
Keg Burnale
Why Ally: When he was going to be hung by citizens of Davenwood, they saved his life, even at the cost of nearly destroying the rest of the town and invoking Saurus.
A Burnale Dwarf, a scoundrel and highwayman who enjoyed when the realm was frozen. Apparently an enemy of The Unravel, as the Unravel tried to frame him and his crew for burning down Davenwood.
Driklar the Alchemist
Why Ally: Helped him make new magic, including "Detect Water"
An illumian alchemist and member of the Ravel board of regents, who was originally working on research on how to warm and save the city, but pivoted to the creation of weapons to be used against Balabag after a presumed wendigo attack on Ravel orchestrated by Balabag.
The Bhéara
Why Ally: We helped her release imprisoned souls from a demiplane that she has promised freedom to. We have accepted her gifts and continue to assist her in helping the poor Blowt.
A mysterious and hag-like Capybara force of nature that seems to have deep connections to Animalfolk, Blowt, and Orbis Alius. Rumored to be living in a frozen mansion on the north coast in Dolmvay, but despite the geographical distance, always seems to be right over our shoulders. Has been of great use to Enrik and Clementine and Isabelle, helping them gain new superpowers and abilities and resolving their own dilemmas (Especially related to Mephix).
Captain Crezzerin
Also known as "The Firefly" when on Vigilante Duties
Why Ally: We helped her build her ship up, hooked it up with saws, and then also played body guard on its maiden voyages.
Captain of the Arctic Express, later took to vigilante work stealing from abandoned warehouses to find supplies to repair her ship. Mid 60s humanoid, wise with saying about Ice and Water, and keen on getting her boat back on the ocean even if it means mounting chainsaws to the bow and cutting through the ice using mechanical magical power.
Nhart
Why Ally: Saved by players in the Unravel bastion and given a new home among his peers when the Onomancer Guild froze over and was abandoned.
An Onomancer at the Onomancer's guild. Had a vision of a giant penguin. For a while became a member aboard the Arctic Express, a saw ship operated by Captain Crezzerin, but then was recruited by Kara to hang out in the Unravel, in a little bastion shelter for himself and other onomancer friends.
Captain Cronch
Why Ally: Players took his mission and ultimately saved his life when he entered a steep hibernation at the beginning of the freeze.
A tortle hermit who lives roughly 2 hours outside of Ravel. Was saved from the cold and escorted back to Ravel. Current wielder of Rumblewood. Cronch was saved by the heroes when his burial mound was drawing energies of Orbis Alius, leading to the summoning of a massive Turtle Blowt (likely drawing on the body of his late wife buried deep under the area).
Hollowfoot
Why Ally: Players helped him save The Burrow and protect an area of heavy harr corruption.
An druid harengon who has lived in Manquel seemingly for as long as Manquel has been around. She is an herbalist and has ties to Fridtjof, as well to a drow Necromancer named Pelan who lives in Ravel. She later appeared in The Burrow where she used her power of Cairns to patch a large region of central Osugbo that had become a magnet to the Blowt energies.
[Originally invented by Player Paul]
Nikolas
Why Ally: Father of a PC
Oswald's father, killed in the attack on Davenwood by Saurus. Oswald pledges to get his father back.
Wubbly
Why Ally: He is unhateable. Wubbly did nothing wrong.
The adorable Capybara barkeep of the tavern in Davenwood, his tavern is the eponymous "Wubbly's Tavern".
Peatro
Why Ally: Was killed by players to put him out of Wendigo misery, and then when refound as a Blowt, handed over to members of the Unseen Eye to watch over him.
A Nostradamus like figure who paints the future.
A friend of Laris'. An artist living in Ravel whose status is unknown. He was declared originally delcared dead by the city. In reality, he had contracted the Wendigo disease and after being slain by the heroes, his ashes were buried behind Cavii Kero's Bastion, the C3.
He was later discovered having ascended to the surface once again as a Blowt, taking a strange animal like form based on the creature(s) he possessed.
Dark Silvio
Why Ally: Mechanically a Henchman, loyal to whatever Player is commanding him.
The henchman of Seven (Fantasial Freeze), a grumbly little guy, who's ex's name is Serg (Serg is part of the Amaun cult now).
[Originally named by player Caulden]
Throk Burnale
Why Ally: Mechanically a Henchman, loyal to whatever Player is commanding him.
A dwarf of the Burnale Clan who left the clan after they turned to thievery and other conniving activities in the frost, instead opting to travel with the kind hearted changeling known as Luv
"Dak Jr"
Why Ally: Mechanically a Henchman, loyal to whatever Player is commanding him.
A middle-aged dwarf of some Amusa clan who was trapped in Ravel when his ship (complete with his lookout Dak) was trapped in the harbor. Is now experiementing with getting his ship back on the water and out of Osugbo.
Assiniboine
Why Ally: Mechanically a Henchman, loyal to whatever Player is commanding him.
The donkey that belongs to Takeshi, he's cute and harmless but carries all of Takeshi's portable library, so he is strong of spirit and hoof.

Neutral
These are NPCs that might have some hostility or alliance with a handful of NPCs, but by and large have had their opinion swayed in both directions, leading to no strong feelings of trust or distrust.
Captain Maximillian
A captain of the guard and field patrol officer for Balabag, was leading the forward facing forces which planned to take the Manquel Bastion by force, until he was convinced he could take his (freezing, starving, panicked) solders back home to Balbag with a small win: capturing and reclaiming the powerful Fire Cult patron Kiun Xeo. He is presumed to be back home in Balabag unless the soldiers are on the march somewhere else.
Hafgan
A mysterious ghostly power that lives in Orbis Alius. Little else known so far.
Blowt (Orbis Civilians)
A number of Blowt that live in Orbis Alius but have not joined the crusade seem to be neutral to the players, wanting only to continue to live their little infinite purgatory lives in peace away from the new war that Saurus and the Bhéara have set their people on the path of.
Fire Cults (Amaun, Kossuth, ???)
A number of followers of Fire Gods (both old gods and new gods alike) have popped up across the realm as part of the freeze as people prayed and begged for warmth and security. At least one cult (the group that destroyed Farmer Lyell's farm) was following a serpentine Fire Entity.
Another more popular group spun up based on the various titles of Kossuth, Primordial of Fire. Kiun Xeo was a devout follower of Kossuth and left his estate to Kossuth's devout followers, who worshipped him under another name: "Amaun".
Most of the cultists in Ravel itself were attacked by X (The Paladin) and killed off when he was falsely convinced that they were in possession of the Crown of Empyrosis, the survivors likely headed north, and it is believed at this point most of the Fire Cultists that are still around are in Balabag, a city famous for its connection to Phoenixes.
Garl Glittergold
Wait what?
It doesn't matter why I'm here. But if you'd like more information you should go hunting for the White Horse (the Gray Mare, the Snow Steed, or any other name it is going by at the time).
Okay I guess he has something to do with the horse.
At the very least link my page here.
Uh. More info on Garl Glittergold here at this link.
Hart
A stagfolk who was one half of the performance duo "Harrigan & Hart", with his partner Harrigan the Harengon. Hart was living on Schmetalton during the first part of the freeze, and helped others find the cure to the Wendigo disease. Hart was also an ally of Eltolinde Lykaios before she retired back to her own bardic lifestyle with the Circus.
Bidwell
Bidwell was the former lookout of Captain Crezzerin's ship the SS Exodus, but died to the cold frosts of The Arctic Autumn, having been buried in Ravel. Bidwell was a Mothfolk.
Glarf
A slow lackey and poop-deck swabber who became the First Mate after Bidwell's death aboard the Arctic Express, a saw ship operated by Captain Crezzerin.
Otto Bremer
Originally from Breme. operated a "cash for bones" operation in Ravel before moving his shop to Balabag for better business.
Vanga
A member of the Unseen Eye who is staying in Ravel to take care of Webber the Kaiju Penguin, according to the prophecies she's seen. After Webber got Blowted, Vanga hasn't been seen again. Possibly linked to Osric, Lairus, and Peatro
Breakwater
A Grung. He's a bit dim according to Captain Cronch. Was saved from the cold by the heroes of the Freeze. Now a member aboard the Arctic Express, a saw ship operated by Captain Crezzerin. Breakwater also started operating a gathering of friends in Ravel who were remembering their lost companions, inspired by the friends Breakwater made and lost on board the ship after it began voyages again.
Alfonz Mordecai
A Kenku professor at Xyneros, a university in Osugbo, who had nearly perfected human-like speech despite his people's ability to only mimic conversation. Also a trained Cleric. Was staying in Cavii Kero's cafe shop as temporary lodgings from the storm.
Zugon Montane
A fisherman in Ravel who briefly stayed in Cavii Kero's cafe shop as temporary lodgings from the storm.
Hermis Rangina
A Minotaur who was staying at C3 (Cavii's Bastion). Not much else known so far.
Fergus Remerson
A bit of a grump who runs the general store in Manquel, almost killed the whole town by ordering mystical Whale-Bone flutes which seemed to summon the Blowted
Kirkland Anderson
A barkeep who runs the "Blowted Backside", the only tavern in Manquel, presumably friends with Fergus (see above), and also has a large tab opened under Three's name because people keep putting it on his tab.
The Philosophers of Erd
A traveling circus that Eltolinda was a part of. Separated shortly before the freeze took hold. Said to be holding up in Balabag now.

Hostile
Orthin the Paladin
Reason why Hostile: Is Blowted
A noble leader and friend of Oswald, he was the original teacher and trainer that helped Oswald get into the Paladin lifestyle, but unfortunately contracted Wendigo disease early on in the freeze.
Unnamed Fire Cult Leader
Reason why Hostile: The players set the freaking Paladin, creator of the entire Arctic Autumn, on his ass, and killed likely his whole clergy.
A fire priest who ran a group of followers to one of the many Fire Gods being apothosized during the Freeze. He and his cohort were bestowed the entirey of Xeo Manor to live in and stay warm and operate out of after Kiun Xeo moved north. However, his tenure was short lived after he had to go toe-to-toe with the Wand of the Spout, basically the element Water incarnate.
Blowt (Surface Ascended)
Reason why Hostile: Quelmar did them wrong, man. They gotta get that revenge.
Blowt that are confirmed to be hostile to Quelmar as a whole include "Uct" and "Thokrin". Uct was captured by the Unravel and interrogated. Thokrin was a sort-of-friend of Cranston's until Cranston went up with Thokrin and Brewyn (now ascended) to help get some revenge on the surface.
Hrímþursar
Also known as "þursar" or "þesarus" or "The Saurus" or "Thesaurus"
Reason why Hostile: IDK but man does he hate us (Bhearah Champion!)
Commander in Chief of the Blowt armies of the Bearah. Spooky guy. Real title-sequence worthy villain.
Webber
Reason why Hostile: Is Blowted (Bhearah Champion!)
A Kaiju Penguin who came to the area shortly after the freeze to help ward off evil energies. While he was found and brought to Ravel to help protect the city, he was at one point overwhelmed by the Bhéara's powers, and wound up getting Blowted, specifically by The Mussoth.
Brigid
Reason why Hostile: Just generally spooky and evil.
The head abbot of the cult church located on Schmetalton, she was part of the reason why Ben and Sen left the church, she is said to be holding a dark secret and possibly be involved in summoning rituals of some sort.
Burnale Dwarves
Reason why Hostile: Caught in a cycle of vengeance with the Unravel after they were framed for burning down Davenwood. They may not be super hostile to non-Unravel players, but aren't on good terms either.
Dwarves from a nearby mountain range, they came outside when the freeze first hit because of their natural hot-blooded advantages. While the rest of the realm struggled to travel or survive in the cold, the Burnales used it as an opportunity to ambush and rob anyone unwise or unlucky enough to cross paths with them.
However, like many clans, the Burnales simply wanted money and good times, so they were easy to convince if persuaded into a drinking game or other bit of revelry. Otherwise, sure, they'll take your wallet.
Known Dwarves: Othello, "Deadeye", Alan, Hildor, Keg (see Allies), "Fjord" Firebeard
Funny Bear Bards
Reason why Hostile: Is Blowted
A trio of colorful bear performers who were a part of the festivities of the Sorghum Festival who were some of the first to get absorbed by the Harr when the Sorghum Siege began. Quick note there was also a tigerfolk and a Loxo that were also absorbed/killed/blowted.
Mayor Berry
Reason why Hostile: Is Blowted
Choeru mayor of Ravel, Berry was killed and/or blowted during the Sorghum Siege, and likely still exists as a blowted capybara monster in the streets of the north districts.
Jenny Jangles
Reason why Hostile: Captured by Player Characters and handed over to the Unravel so they could "tie up loose ends"
A likely innocent young woman who happened to fall into a Tryst with Aiken Zimmerman, the leader of the Unravel. Right around the time that Aiken took over mayoral duties for the city, he had put a request out for his guild to "Take care of Jenny", resulting in a number of PCs gaining favor with the Unravel by finding Jenny, luring her to sleep, and then passing her over to the Unravel...no questions asked. She hasn't been seen since, so it can be assumed whatever information she knew that she shouldn't have was removed from the equation one way or another...
Pierre Robes
Reason why Hostile: No Respect
Local Ravel Tailor, humanoid. Was staying in Cavii Kero's cafe shop as temporary lodgings from the storm. Now a member aboard the Arctic Express, a saw ship operated by Captain Crezzerin.
[Originally named by Player Josh]
Xilas LaCroix
Reason why Hostile: Repeated attempts of Assaassination
A member of the La Croix dynasty, Xilas currently runs the estate and heads up all LaCroix operations in Ravel, which has put him on close terms with The Unravel as they gather and amass power during the freeze. Was the master vampire who turned Jaxzo'Ilan into a Dhampir.
Was ambushed by the slayer Tessa at one point but he escaped with 1 HP. He would plan an ambush and plot of revenge against Tessa and her forces, nearly taking out their whole team.
His son, another LaCroix, happened to have been intercepted by another group of heroes which included Kludzu during a midnight attempt to overtake the Xeo estate.
Vindrix LaCroix
Reason why Hostile: Sabotaged his attempts at kiling Kiun Xeo (see below), then killed him.
The son of Xilas LaCroix (see above), previously lived in Ravel with his father, but was killed by the players after Xeo put out a call for defense and help from heroes.
Cecil LaCroix
Reason why Hostile: Killed by players after he tricked them.
A spawn of Xilas who was disguised as Mundy for an entire session, tricking the team into trusting him dearly and eventually falling into a trap, almost being killed by LaCroix in their first real boss battle against him.
Touse
Reason why Hostile: Possibly blowted? Possibly Corrupt? Possibly just insane?
A french chef turned into an abomination when exposed to the raw Harr energies of Paraska manor. Now he resembles a massive 10 ft tall Candelabra who hums and stalks in the darkness. Last seen at the Manor, but who knows where he could pop up next.
(A former PC from System Agnostic who died when the Freeze awoke whatever lurked in Paraska.)
Aiken Zimmerman
Reason why Hostile: Does not care for freelancers who get in the way of Thieves' Guild operations.
Note: Likely not hostile at all to Unravel Member PCs.
An "acrobat" who works in the thieves guild under Ravel, an area known as the "Unravel", later revealed to be the leader of the Unravel, a role his took seriously until needing to step up as the leader of Ravel after the Sorghum Siege.
Bartlett
Reason why Hostile: Follows Aiken's Loyalty
Note: Likely not hostile at all to Unravel Member PCs.
Aiken's right hand man, wields a scythe and pretends to be a farmer to avoid attention. After Aiken needed to take over many mayoral duties with the death of Mayor Berry, Bartlett took on many of Aiken's old tasks, such as assigning missions to the guild members.
Thaddeus
Reason why Hostile: Was killed by Players
A rival scholar of Quimbleton's, who taught as Drȳcræft Drīfan University of Magicks. Was killed in battle trying to protect the Manquel Lush Pocket.
From that fatal battle, three of his allies, a Goliath, an Aarakocra named Tim, and a Kitsune, all survived and were captured by Ravel authorities.
Tim the Aarakocra
Reason why Hostile: All of his allies killed by Players
A rival adventurer working from Balabag who arrived at the Lush Pocket at the same time as the PCs. He was an arch enemy of Silent Wind. He was one of the only survivors.
Althia Arcanthia
Reason why Hostile: Was hired by Balabag to investigate Ravel and was caught as a spy.
An elf and fellow teacher, though her school of residence is still unknown. Was staying in Cavii Kero's cafe shop as temporary lodgings from the storm. She came from Balabag during a tense time when the city was looking to spy on Ravel. Her treacherous ways were discovered, and she was turned over to the city, who then turned her over to The Unravel to process her interrogation. However, the heroes argued for leniency in her case as she was only a scholar looking for money to aid in her investigations of the Blowted. This leniency, however, fell on deaf ears.
She avoided being interrogated when a group of Wendigo interrupted the interrogator, Silent Wind, and after some other heroes of the city saved her from the Wendigo, they brought her back to the city, suggesting she be kept indefinitely imprisoned for her own safety until the Wendigo invasion was over.
Ennui
Reason why Hostile: Was also a spy, but one who attempted several execution attacks on the PCs.
A tiefling spy from Balabag who was staying in Cavii Kero's cafe shop as temporary lodgings from the storm. He was discovered after he tried to backstab some heroes out on the ice, and they turned him over to the city (and thus he was taken to The Unravel for interrogations). While in the Unravel, he was interrogated violently and terrifyingly by the Aarakocra known as Silent Wind, who then locked him in a small cage, a cage that in turn protected him from an outbreak of Wendigo in the quarters. Afterwards, Silent Wind bargained to keep him imprisoned, saying that he still had more to answer for and deserved to be kept in the Unravel until the guild was done with him.
Ennui was eventually turned over to Balabag, likely after the Sorghum Siege, after which Ennui was tasked with assassinating the leader of the Manquel bastion, Five. Instead of killing Ennui after this second attempted assasination, he was turned back over to the Balabag armies to take back to the city.
Kiun Xeo
Reason why Hostile: Players infiltrated and robbed his manor, got everyone inside of it killed, then threw a party on its ruins. Had been promised sanctuary but then turned him over to Balabag as a political prisoner, causing him to get arrested, and eventually attacked and Blowted. So he's a Blowt right now but that's not even the beginning of why he would be hostile.
Note: Also has two powerful guard golems.
A powerful druid and wealthy landowner originally from Ravel, Kiun Xeo owns and operates the Xeo Estate, which he currently has passed over to the control of the Cult of Amaun, while he himself hides out safely in the nearby town of Manquel, safe in the Manquel Bastion alongside his two protective golems. However, eventually the residents of the Manquel Bastion turned Kiun Xeo over to Balabag as a political intrigue to keep their forces from advancing any further south. Afterwards he was put in a cushy prison cell but eventually hunted down and killed by LaCroix vampires while in Balabag.
Maynard
Reason why Hostile: (Bhearah Champion!) Players infiltrated and robbed his small townhouse, endangering the life of his own mother who lived with him. Then they also set the place on fire, put the fire out, and threatened to set it on fire again. All of this in the name of revenge for him being a bad boyfriend to Neighbor Craig. He was then given a great gift of vengeance by the Bearah, but before he could even do anything with all that power, was killed by Kara
Maynard is Neighbor's boyfriend, a pig folk that she was seeing when the Freeze hit. A bit of a lowlife and lazy bum, he and Neighbor moved into his mother's basement to have somewhere warm to stay during the freeze. He was a driving force as to why Neighbor decided to get out into the Freeze and adventure in the first place...because the alternative was to sit in a basement and hear Maynard complain more about how unoptimized the stratagem of the public response has been and how he could do SO much better if he had any say in things. Like...okay Maynard we get it, please go back to reading your cheap scroll filth and eating your stink juice bugs.
Near the end of Act 1, Asimi sold Maynard's soul to a floating devil ship in exchange for some Doomed Sage's Insight, which makes her better at magic or something. Not cool. She swears she'll get Maynard's soul back somehow, but until then, he'd better get into heroic shape...
[Originally named by Player Mickaylee]
Mephix
Reason why Hostile: After players made a deal with her, they kept trying to find ways to (unsuccesfully) break the contract and nullify her powers while keeping their gains, then they tried to kill her.
A devil who sailed on the frozen oceans in a ship of hellfire and magic, Mephix promised power and knowledge and ability to those who were willing to sell a soul (their own or another's with consent). Mephix bought several souls from the heroes, including Clementine's soul. However, Mephix was forced into loaning Clem out to Isabelle after the Bearah struck an even more powerful deal with Mephix.
Mephix was later absorbed and killed by the Bearah when the Bhéara merged Mephix' essence (a form of supernatural Corpse-Stitching) into Maynard (see above) and then the resulting Champion was killed by Kara.
X (The Paladin)
Reason why Hostile: Almost stole his powerful magic wand. Aided his archenemies from across the ocean. Celebrated his death and the return of the realm to normal.
An ancient Eladrin who froze the world, causing The Arctic Autumn in the first place, which seemingly kicked off all this madness related to the Blowt and the Bhéara. Was killed offscreen (for us) by a Kobold in Amusa at the end of Act 1. Guest NPC pulled in from Ancients Alive.
Mr Mosquito
Reason why Hostile: Players kept coming to Tusgrer and sabotaging it.
A powerful Blowt who kept ascending quickly into Mosquitos and seemed impossible to kill, until eventually he wasn't killed, but rather Ascended, as the players accidentally killed the target of his pointed revenge, a citizen of Tusgrer. His real name was unknown, but rather they called him Mr. Mosquito because that is what one of the child citizens of Tusgrer called him.
