Bleucorundum (or Bleu for short) was a sapphire greatwyrm who returned to Quelmar when prophecies began to speak of the return of Sardior. Bleu believed it was their duty in this new world to collect and begin the rites of resurrection that would restore Sardior to life.

About

Bleu had a special psionic connection with the lost god Sardior which manifested as a strange call from beyond this world. She was prepared to answer that call by amassing and collecting the Ruby Court once more.

Blue saw herself as a military expert, and would make great overarching plans on how to reunite the court.

Bleucorundum once owned the Galadiir, a draconic name referring to the Corundum Egg of Sardior. During her millenia hiatus from the realm, the Galadiir passed hands many times, ultimately finding itself under the study of a wizard named Revan in the town of Tsojcanth. Bleu set her lair up under the river near Tsojcanth in an attempt to recover the Galadiir, but found that one of the town's children had sneakily stolen it away. It was eventually found by heroes of the Greedy Green and returned to Bleu.

History

Into the Greedy Green

At some point after the unlocking of Kiston in the late 700s PR, Bleucorundum could return to Quelmar, and began a years long mission to reconnect with the original Ruby Court.

In 825 PR she was found by the heroes of the realm in her lair, and she explained she was continuing to explore deep into Quelmar as she was forming a link with the Amethyst court member: Venaleth. She also tasked the heroes with finding and protecting Echemus the son of the court member Eros.

Powers

Bleucorundum held the Sapphire Boon of the Ruby Court, which allowed her to make creatures psionically invisible. It did not impose actual invisibility, but rather blocked the mind of enemy creatures from being able to perceive the presence of a creature with the boon. In at least one instance, Bleu gave the boon to heroes of the realm (Amber, Arlin, Durian, Grandmush, Trina, Violet, and Zevendell), making them invisible to dragons. This boon is remarkably similar to the natural boon that is formed from the Existence Crystals of the Warforged, and with good reason.

The power has also been used at least once against the heroes of the realm, when it was applied to a Gelatinous Cube that almost destroyed Arlin and Violet.

Lair

Bleucorundum's Lair located under the Ssaphibian River

Bleu's lair was located underground just off of Cavebite Stream, which was an oxbow of the Ssaphibian River and could be accessed by following a small slipstream that dove under the shore (like a waterslide).

A psionic aura of fear kept most creatures from accidentally stumbling onto the area, though the unusual aura only further drew the intrigue of heroes of the realm who investigated and found the dragon.

Once inside, Bleucorundum often judged the character and quality of visitors, and would only grant access to Neutral groups, in line with her own neutral alignment. A few examples include:

  • Vadath: Judged as Evil due to a lingering curse of Nerull from his family
  • Markoth: Judged as Evil due to connections with Silent. Upon receiving this judgement. He began an intimate study of himself, eventually becoming almost monk-like in his devotion to peace. The good he embraced shifted him to Neutral.
  • Omen: Judged as Good due to Gold Dragon blood in her veins.
  • Durian: Judged as Neutral due to his gem dragon heritage
  • Dancer of the Boreal Valley: Judged as Neutral.
  • Drang: Judged as Good.
  • Zevendell: Judged as Neutral.
  • Amber: Judged as Neutral.

Trove

Personally, Bleucorundum hoarded historical artifacts, especially those with any importance related to ancient wars, including prehistoric ones. She believed that most creatures could not be trusted to properly safeguard historically significant artifacts, but she could.

Some of the items included portraits, ancient money, coat of arms, armors, enchanted swords and weapons, old infertile dragon eggs, a dragon chess set, tapestries depicting the ancient battles of The Four Dragons, and a music box that plays the haunting song of Sardior (which sounds a lot like "I Will Wait" by Mumford and Sons).

If granted permission, items from Bleu's hoard could be taken out into the world, but with a catch: if the items are ever used to do harm to a dragon, good or evil, then they will be telekinetically whisped away and returned to the hoard, as Bleu is a keeper of the war hoard, but it was never to be used against her own people.

Tapestries

Bleucorundum's lair included several tapestries depicting the ancient battles of The Four Dragons.
