The Three Dragons on Synàra, was the first event in a long year of draconic attacks on Isonhound that would later be discovered as a slow and subtle coordinated effort by Tiamat to stop Sardior from returning to the realm.

Events[edit | edit source]
- The festival of Asar Ogalas in Synara celebrates the regrowth of the Woldlin domain of Isonhound. Every year, the great festival of Asar Ogalas brings together the locals, and brings in the curious. With countless activities to partake in, the fun is never ending....unless, of course, you hear the siren, and THREE DRAGONS emerge from the canopies.
- When called to action, a group of five brave warriors, tasked with helping the town's own overwhelmed militia, stomped down to local Varryn's neighborhood and help rescue his own kin from being extorted and attacked by the young black dragon Velathidros. It took their combined forces (and the morale boost of trusty lionkin Kris) to tear him down, but dramatically they prevailed, opening the door now to further adventures...into the Greedy Green!
- A perfectly pleasant festival was happening. Dancer won a tree-climbing contest and Tordek bought a rock. Durian and Spinel got their fortunes told. And then dragons appeared. This particular group of adventurers ran to the capital building after Sro to try to save the mayor. His breath weapon was too powerful and put the militia to sleep. And even in Sro’s humanoid form, he moved far too quickly and was totally scary. Ulka saved the real mayor, picking him up and jumping out a side window. Several others were saved. A person in the library told Sro he was the mayor and, although Spinel tried to intervene with words (not her strong suit), Sro took the man and left.
- When called to action, a group of five brave warriors, tasked with helping the town's own overwhelmed militia, fled to the city's capital building to evacuate any possible civilians, they learned just how powerful the Silver Greatwyrm Sro could be. And how easy it is to get lost in the rubble, destruction, and confusion that lays in the wake of a Silver dragon who REALLY wants something. Despite the odds being stacked against them, they used their ability to be non-threatening to sneak in and rescue the mayor at the last second!
- When the market district is laid siege to by Flame the Crimson Terror, the players act fast to wake up and evacuate people from their shops, homes, and hostels. Carefully navigating the forest fires and the felled trees, players escort refugees to a boat on the river to safety.
- Flame takes particular interest in the chaotic, and perhaps even evil, players who take the chaotic opportunity to loot, pillage, and burn buildings themselves.
Perspectives[edit | edit source]
Trina[edit | edit source]
Arlin and she arrived to Synara, just in time for the great festival of Asar Ogalas. The festival was as boring and predictable as any elven festival ever was. Not enough drinking or dancing and neither any good trinkets for sale. The festival though took a dark turn, when the siren blew; dragons arrived in town! They were three and all looked terrible; she felt scared, awed, but also a bit... greedy. What could she gain out of killing one? Trina joined the other warriors in their efforts to save the civilians from the wrath of the great black dragon, Velathidros. She was not sure why she did that, perhaps being around a war cleric of Bahamut or just her upbringing had left a mark for heroics. The young tiefling woman was not sure if the glee by landing the final blow was due to that, or the greed for gold and fame.
Durian[edit | edit source]
I had arrived just in time for the celebration of Asar Ogalas, an elvish festival of rebirth which commemorated the Razing of Isonhound. I jumped aboard a cart which offered guided tours, marveling at the town's trees with trunks wider around than the columns of any tower and branches which seemed to graze the sky. The sight of them made me fantasize about how my hometown of Jadenhill must have looked prior to the Razing, secluded by dense canopies of foliage. All manner of folk from across the continent had gathered to hawk their wares and labors, including some elvish jewelry which, at least in my eyes, did not compare with what had recently been ransacked from the Court of Quartz. Pixies and satyrs were also abound cross the festival, but I had been raised to leave the forest's Fey creatures unbothered. I entered a fortune teller's tent, expecting an entertaining swindle for one gold piece…what I got instead was a cryptic Prophecy. The teller gazed into his scrying sphere as the lights dimmed and he described a flood of smoke which would precede the return of powerful Dragons. The teller peered to me, staring me down with a bewildered expression and asked "who are you?" I could only stutter out, "I'm a Dragonborn," unsure of how to respond. The fortune teller warned, "you should leave Synàra," before light returned to the tent and the Prophecy faded from view. I exited the tent shaken, but barely a minute passed before I would experience my first crisis of faith in the teachings of Bahamut as I witnessed Sro the Silver Dragon, seemingly allied with a Red Dragon and a Black Dragon, descending upon the festivities and attacking the city. I joined a group of adventurers who were dashing towards city hall to confront the Silver Dragon. Once we caught up, however, we quickly discovered the Greatwyrm was simply too powerful to take down as he laid waste to the building's stone walls as if they were parchment. I avoided a breath weapon which took down most of the city guard and followed the massive creature inside the building. I tried to get closer to his head by climbing onto a balcony, but one whip from the Dragon's tail sent me tumbling back to the ground floor. As I struggled to stand back up, I tried sending Sro a telepathic message: "child of Bahamut, what is it that you want? Let us help you and cease this destruction!" The Silver Dragon turned his head towards me and bellowed out "bring me the mayor!" What he didn't know was that some of the other adventurers were smuggling the mayor out of the building as I helped distract Sro. The mayor was rescued, but the Dragon grabbed one of the mayor's assistants in his claws before flying away with a thunderous boom.
Ulka[edit | edit source]
At the Asar Ogalas festival Ulka fell on her butt during a climbing competition, lost 5 gold to a lottery drawing and got conned out of her hunting trap by some pixies. Suffice to say the festival didn't put her in the best of spirits. During the confrontation against Sro, Ulka ran up the stairs and firstly rescued a woman who was cleaning. The woman thought Ulka was going to eat her, however Ulka reassured her that she wouldn't. Ulka would eventually reach the master bedroom and was greeted by two arrows into her large stomach by the mayor's guards. After frustratingly telling them that she isn't the dragon or going to kidnap the mayor she was able to take them out on the balcony and lower them down by using her Giant's Might to make herself about as tall as the building itself. Afterwards she rescued a young man who boarded himself into a bathroom and thought she was going to eat/kill him.
Spinel[edit | edit source]
I came to Synara. A big tree told me they saw shifters, but I thought Cobalt traveled alone. A fortune teller told me something about the last one being reborn and a victory will shift the power. But I met a Dragonborne (Durian) who also got his fortune read and I think the fortuneteller is just bad. All of a sudden lots of dragons attacked. We followed a big white one toward the mayor’s mansion. I guess it was after mayors. We were sorely underpowered for this scary dragon. Ulka rescued a lot of people, including the real mayor. A dude told the dragon, named Sro and now in human form, that he was the mayor. I tried to tell him it wasn’t him (“MAYORS DON’T READ BOOKS”) but Sro didn’t believe me. Sro got in my face but I was too scared to engage. So Sro took the dude and flew off. I don’t like this town.
Dancer[edit | edit source]
While adventuring south of her homelands in search of excitement and fortune, Dancer has met some interesting characters. Arriving in Synàra during the festival of Asar Ogalas, she made some easy coin by handily winning a climbing contest, and some even easier coin by swiping a shiny necklace from a local vendor. Unfortunately, there wasn't time for much else as the town was promptly attacked by three ancient dragons. Always one to tackle the greatest challenge, Dancer went after the Silver Greatwyrm Sro, and to her surprise, was completely ignored by the creature. It was apparent that more work was required before she could tackle such a mighty foe. Switching tactics, Dancer rescued several civilians, collected the reward, and set out to learn more about the legends surrounding these creatures.
