XP Gained: 2460 (410 each)
Important Things that Happened:
A perfectly pleasant festival was happening. Dancer won a tree-climbing contest and Tordek bought a rock. Durian and Spinel got their fortunes told. And then dragons appeared. This particular group of adventurers ran to the capital building after Sro to try to save the mayor. His breath weapon was too powerful and put the militia to sleep. And even in Sro’s humanoid form, he moved far too quickly and was totally scary. Ulka saved the real mayor, picking him up and jumping out a side window. Several others were saved. A person in the library told Sro he was the mayor and, although Spinel tried to intervene with words (not her strong suit), Sro took the man and left.
1/21: I came to Synara. A big tree told me they saw shifters, but I thought Cobalt traveled alone. A fortune teller told me something about the last one being reborn and a victory will shift the power. But I met a Dragonborne (Durian) who also got his fortune read and I think the fortuneteller is just bad. All of a sudden lots of dragons attacked. We followed a big white one toward the mayor’s mansion. I guess it was after mayors. We were sorely underpowered for this scary dragon. Ulka rescued a lot of people, including the real mayor. A dude told the dragon, named Sro and now in human form, that he was the mayor. I tried to tell him it wasn’t him (“MAYORS DON’T READ BOOKS”) but Sro didn’t believe me. Sro got in my face but I was too scared to engage. So Sro took the dude and flew off. I don’t like this town.

Session 3: Sro II
Characters: Durian, Ulka, Spinel, Dancer of the Boreal Valley, Aman, Einari, Stan (Starting XP 1500)
DM: James (2/18)
Dragons Encountered: The Great Sro, Belle (technically a human but polymorphed into dragon)
XP Gained: 6950 (992 each)
Important Things that Happened:
Sro was rumored to have been stealing mayors from across Isonhound, and one town put up a bounty for his return. So, against better judgement, the adventurers made their way to his lair. There, a paladin of Bahamut named Belle stood in their way. Their antics took too long, and soon Sro returned. At first he wanted to talk. He said he was stealing mayors to see if the realm was ready for the dangers of Tiamot. He wanted to test the fighters and had them fight a polymorphed Belle in the form of a silver dragon. Some of the team sat out, thinking it unwise to fight a dragon in its own home (which turned out to be rule #1). After defeating Belle, Sro felt they had passed his test and gave them several rules of fighting dragons.
We went to rescue the mayors but were really bad at being stealthy. They gave us bad guns. We met a lady named Belle who wanted to fight us. Ultimately we met Sro again, who mostly just talked to us. He said he was stealing mayors to see if the real was ready for the dangers of Tiamot. Then he said he wanted to teach us lessons about fighting dragons and some of our party fought him, but I feel like it’s bad news to fight a dragon in their home. Then he gave that as the first lesson, so didn’t I prove that I knew that lesson? It was a weird day.
Recap from Dancer:
Tasked with retrieving the "mayor" that was stolen by Sro, and enticed by the prospect of reward, Dancer set out with a party of eager adventurers to raid the Dragon's lair. Nestled high in the mountains of Isonhound, the hoard was not particularly hard to reach. The Dragon's ward, Belle, was formidable but our party was up to the task. We were eventually greeted by Sro, who was eager to divulge more information about the return of the other dragons. We were then presented an opportunity to test our mettle against Belle in dragon form to prove our readiness to Sro. After besting his ward we were rewarded with the return of the missing person and some recompense for the destruction of the town. While one of our dimwitted party members did their best to engage Sro in some kind of asinine debate, Spinel (a quite capable Shifter fighter) and Dancer decided to split the loot and walk out while no one else was paying attention.

DM: James (3/11)
Dragons Encountered: About 15 Kobold Dragonshields. You heard me, some Kobolds are Dragons. Also the body of an unknown red dragon, and the sabotaged egg of said dragon. The Green Stag (Mentioned)
XP Gained: 2850 (407 each)
Important Things that Happened:
- The adventurers went to the vault of King Glub, where a bunch of dragonshield kobolds made their residence. The party made their way through the caves, pilfering tiny +1 shields and springing traps as they went. The kobolds spoke of a dragon, so the adventurers took a short rest. However, the remaining kobolds took the opportunity to flee. The bones of a red dragon had been strung up like a puppet to look like an undead dragon. The dragon egg the party was looking for was already destroyed, and a note was left claiming the Green Stag had done the deed.
- 3/11: We went to a kobold cave because there was supposed to be a dragon there. We fought a lot of kobolds. I liked Ferris’s explodey pinecones. But we rested and the kobolds left with all the good stuff. We did find the bones of a dragon strung up to look like it was undead, but it was just a puppet. I did pick up a magical kobold shield. It’s small but useful. I took some dragon bones too, and they sold for a fair price.

Important Things that Happened:
- Tordek's Account
- After returning the town of Galloway's porcelain, Tordek met up with other adventurers to protect a mining vessel captained by Mite and Tite down the River Titicaca. Tordek, Rocky, and Tordek's Giant Constrictor Snake (from the Staff of the Python), fought monsters of the forest who blocked up the river. After defeating the monsters, the crew continued down the river until the boat was attacked by a Dragon. Tordek threw his Staff of the Python into the water and his Giant Constrictor Snake was able to save Boros, who had fallen into the water, before the boat sped away from the dragon. Upon arriving to the mine at the Nightfall Station, the group noticed that some great force had destroyed the riverside station. The same dragon that attacked ealier flew down and confronted the party. The dragon explained how the people who ran this mine committed genocide and enslaved the locals for labor. The party offered up Tite and Mite, who were part of the people who ran the mine, and the dragon happily ate them. Tordek, calling upon his powers as the former Head Shaman of Hodlingar, felt trouble beneath him in the mines. Tordek was able to shift himself, Violet, Boros, and Dad-Bot through the stone at their feet and into the mine below. Upon entering the mine, the group found a collapse had occurred and 2 miners were stuck underneath the rubble. Tordek and the group were able to rescue the trapped miners and evacuate them safely from the mine. While in the mines, the group was also able to obtain chunks of Wovenstone to power the boat and get the party back up the River Titicaca. Tordek turned the Wovenstone he took from the mines into a giant chunk of gold and in the process learned that his dear companion Rocky was also made of Wovenstone.
Session 9: Lindwurms
Characters: Tordek, Dancer of the Boreal Valley, Boros, Dur’kalak, (Starting XP 1500), Va’Dath (Starting XP 1500)
DM: Kyle (3/24)
Dragons Encountered: Lindwurm’s x2
XP Gained: 4180 (836 each)
Important Things that Happened:
- Vadath's Log: Shortly after arriving in Isonhound Vadath found himself in the town of Seglock. While at the local inn he heard the bar keep, a Saytr by the name of Rory, needed some help finding his daughter. Vadath and a few other adventures took on the job. Upon talking to Rory the found out his daughter was a Dryad by the name of Whisty. Rory told them all that Whisty had gone north to help with a settlement and that he hadnt heard from her recently and what he had heard from locals coming from that area was comcerning. Supposedly the northern settlements were being attacked by dragons and Rory feared for Whistys life. The adventurers took the job and ventured north. Upon arriving at the settlement where Whisty was the group saw Whisty and a few villagers try to fight off two Lindworms. The group of adventurers burst into action a few focused of engaging the Lindworms where as Vadath attempted to rescue Whisty. The Lindworms wreaked havoc on the battlefield killing the two villagers almost instantly. Whisty fought bravely and began to retreat in an attempt to reach Vadath. Sadly just before she could reach him Whisty succumbed to her wounds and fell. Vadath and the others fought the Lindworms in a violent struggle. Even Vadath himself falling in battle and he was prepared to take his last breath when the dwarf Tordek reached Vadath and saved his life with magic. Vadath stood up, flew into a rage and tossed a javelin at the only remaining Lindworm piercing through its head and killing it. In the end Whisty could not be saved. As he body was huddled over by the group a curious sapling sprouted from her body. Dancer of the Boreal Valley toom it upon herself to cut the sapling from the dead body. Vadath would carry Whistys body all the way back to her 'father' Rory. Later upon trying to purchase some wares from a traveling ceramics dealer Vadath and Dancer would find out that a bounty was on their heads for kidnapping.
- 3/24: We went to find a guy named Horatio who has been causing trouble. There were really big orcs with big glaives. We gave a barbarian speed juice and Falgrim's fire while raging. I mostly watched the show. Dancer set a trap on the cave's secret exit. Horatio almost got away in a mechanical contraption, but instead he got stuck and then fell into the ocean. We muscled him out of there. Where did these Cheshire orcs and goblins get their shiny armor? Maybe Horatio will know. I don't think I know enough to use this double-ended glaive well. Nockdus says Cheshire goblin flesh tastes bad.

Synopsis:
Ensign's Log, Stardate 2.20.22, for Captain Saldani should it be recovered:
Now that the threat has past and the need for discretion is over, I feel the need to recount the events as I remember them. I had traveled a small Loxo village deep in the forests on reports of a legendary tree that acted as a portal to far flung places. I believed that this tree could hold some potential of returning me to The Sextant so I arrived to take readings and inquire about the phenomenon from the locals. Unfortunately, this effort proved fruitless for my intended goal. However, another opportunity took shape.
A guardian of the village came through the gates carrying the unconscious form of another Loxo, loudly requesting medical assistance. I was closest, and first on the scene to administer aid. Following protocol, I first stabilized the patient's condition with an E.M.A. Since the patient was still unconscious, I began taking scans to determine next steps.
It was then that Reylendor arrived, quickly followed by Cyan and Herneldo. Reylendor is also a medical practitioner (though in a way completely foreign to our way of thinking and more customary for this region) and through our combined efforts we were able to restore the patient to consciousness. He introduced himself as Admiral Herold, and recounted how he was sailing down a nearby river with his "first mate" (apparently the only other member of his crew) when he came under attack by a mysterious and powerful entity.
The other group had come to town in an attempt to fulfill a bounty on a large Green Dragon, and they had heard rumors that it had been spotted in this area. Thankful for the rescue, the Admiral (though, by their own admission, they only had one ship, the status of which was unknown, so I believe the rank of Captain more fitting), invited us all to partake in an evening of alcohol consumption and general camaraderie. It was there, the Captain invited us all to join their crew and help them reclaim their ship. The group agreed on a temporary basis, hoping that the mysterious being that attacked the ship was the green dragon they were seeking.
The next morning, after resolving some earlier misunderstandings, the group met with Kihlek who would act as the guide into this colder northern region. We traveled deep into the woods, and the temperature steadily declined. Being adapted for such conditions, I was not affected, the other members of the crew found the climate less hospitable. I lent the cloak I use to cover my uniform to Reylendor, though it did spark some questions regarding the origins of my clothing.
We arrived at the lake where the Captain reported the attack, and though the ship could not be seen, some debris was found to confirm the location. For some time the group discussed the best plan to get to the island in the middle of the lake without disturbing whatever lurked under the waves. The group began to dig in, but could not figure out how to draw the creature/creatures out of the lake. Taking the initiative, I tossed a nearby stone into the water.
Emerging from the murky lakebed were four adolescent white dragons. We engaged these creatures, but found that we were fairly outmatched and began to fall back. It was then that the green dragon that we had been searching for appeared out of the island in the middle of the lake. We were able to cripple/defeat most of the dragonlings as we fell back, but knowing that we could not take a full adult green dragon, we continued to cautiously retreat. The dragon offered a deal. In exchange for not revealing that we had seen or interacted with them, the dragon would allow us to live. In addition, we would be allowed to loot the cave of the former occupant of the lake, a white dragon (killed by the green dragon).
Seeing this as the best outcome, the captain agreed, and the green dragon flew off, but not without warning us that it knew our scent now, so could track us down if knowledge of the green dragon was leaked. The crew crossed the lake to find a cave system, and within, a considerable amount of currency as well as a few magical items. The body of the White dragon was also in preserved condition, so the crew recovered valuable parts of the beast as well.
After diving up the loot, the group discussed the nearby terrain with local avian wildlife, who reported that a boat was seen run aground further downriver. Our crew was able to retrieve it and find the first mate alive.
I would like to conclude with noting that a damaged artifact was recovered, a crystal orb. After some discussion, it was deemed not worth the risk of further damaging the orb, but it was given to me to repair. It will take time and resources, as I am more a doctor than an engineer, but I believe the orb could be repaired and adapted into our technology. If I am able to repair it, Reylendor and Herneldo have requested use of it.
PROGRAM, end log.
Session 13: Longfang II

XP Gained: 4200 (600 each)
Synopsis:
- Vadath's Log: A few days later Vadath caught wind of another job to the north in the dwarven town of Gammelgard, the home of the Order of the Watchful Eye. Vadath and the others that took the job were greated by Falgrim Norest. Falgrim told them that their job was to try to find an entrance to a lost ancient dwarven city as well to investigate any mutated goblins we come across. He also wanted the group to bring him any of the mutated goblins we come across. They set off shortly after their conversation with Falgrim. The group traveled till late in the evening and decided to set up camp for the night. As night fell a thick ominous mist filled the forest. During the watches that night Dancer of the Borreal Valley sensed that a dragon was near by. Though she remained on high alert the dragon did not engage the group. The following morning dragon tracks were discovered confirming Dancers suspicions. Vadath and the group eventually encountered some Orcs and goblins arguing. Though no one understood what they were saying beacuse no one in the company spoke goblin. The goblins appeared to be mutated so Vadath came up with a battle plan. The plan was to spark a fight amongst the two groups. Dancer took a snipers position inna tree and fired and arrow in hopes of accomplishing this goal. The plan worked somewhat and the goblins engaged the orcs the adventuring party. The orcs were wiped out by the goblins and the goblins were destroyed by Vadath and his companions. Upon inspecting the corpes of the goblins the group dicovered they were mutated. Thier heads seemed much larger than they should be. The goblins were also clad in armor that apeared to pieces of metal with elvish designs on it. Just north of the battlefield a cave entrance was found. The group entered the cave and discovered a giant ancient dwarven statue and behind it a stone archway that appeared to be blocked by a giant stone. Just in front of the archway were more pieces of the same metal the goblins wore as armor as well was remains of more goblin corpses and pices of insectoid carapces from a creature known as Kruthiks. Vadath inspected the stone in the archway by hitting it a fee times and was going to swing his sword at it until Tordek stopped him. When Tordek melded with the stone he was sucked in unexpectedly. A few moments later he reimerged and told the group that the stone was an earth elemental that was charged with keeping the passageway sealed. Upon returning to Falgrim he told the group the dragon tracks could be from the Green dragon known as Longfang and the mutated goblins served the dragon. Though Falgrim doesn't believe that Longfang is the one mutating the goblins.
Session 14: The Green Stag II
Characters: Miles, Stan, Ulka, Ferris, Delphi, Vadeth, Jo
DM: James (4/20)
Dragons Encountered: The Green Stag
XP Gained: 1857 each
Synopsis: Vadath's Log: Vadaths next job would be join in the hunt for the Green Stag. Vadath joined up with adventures that were hot on the dragons tail. The group explored the secret basement of a very influential family and discovered an empty chamber that gave way to another room with several ragged and weakened slaves. Ulka the bugbear recognized one of the slaves from her past. The golbin disclosed that they were all imprisoned by the dragon to work the forges. The Green Stag was very adept at manipulation and hiding. So far it has used several wizards and spell casters to keep himself and his hoard invisible. From the rescued slaves they were told the hoard was in the room just before the forge. Upon inspecting the room all that remained of the hoard was a few coins, potions, and a magical unbreakable arrow. The group took to tracking the Green Stag north to the snowy mountains. While traveling the whole party grew close to Jo a curious changeling. Vadath grew close to Jo when he presented as Jo'Krum a half-orc fighter. Though Vadath doesn't typically drink Jo'krum knew Vadath couldn't turn down a challenge and would eventually break Vadath down and some interesting events ensued. There was an incident Vadath hazily remembers with Jo'kum involving a stuffed basilisk, a unicorn horn, a few barrels of ale, and three female mages. Though what really happened well no one can really say or fully remember. Eventually the party caught up the Green Stag near the summit of a mountain. As the party rested and made camp before the coming battle they were approached by a dragonborn paladin by the name of Sro. Sro approached the party looking for Dancer of the Borreal Valley as well as the rest of those associated with the matter pertaining to the Dryad Whisty. Sro showed the group a wanted poster and Vadath and Dancer were amongst them. Vadath knew he had to talk to Dancer and Rory to sort this out when the time was right. Sro encouraged the group and Vadath questioned what he was doing all the way up here. It was at that moment Sro revealed his true form a giant Adult Silver Wyrm. Sro spoke draconic into the cave where the Green Stag was making a new home telling the dragon that his reckoning has come. The party entered the cave to see a lone mage weaving a spell. Vadath charged the mage hitting her with a javelin trying to break her concentration. Jo and the other joined in in breaking her speel and revealing the Green Stag hiding up on a ledge of the cave using the mages invisibility spell. Insults were thrown at the dragon and it flew down and engaged the group. Vadath, Jo, and Ulka charged the dragon. With a wicked grin the dragon opened its mouth and let's loose a blast of its poison breath. Killing Jo instantly and knocking Vadath and Ulka unconscious. The warlock Stan began firing spells at the dragon as Ferris came to the aid of Ulka and Vadath. Delphi and Stan kept the preasue on the dragon forcing to stay on the move. Ulka made multiple attempts to pin the dragon down. Vadath will never admit it but succumbed to the murderous presence that was the Green Stag. Ulka would fall in battle, Stan would fire magic often and with to great effect, and Delphi and Ferris supported thier efforts. Vadath saw this and pushed through his fear. He climbed the highest pillar he could with a plan of plunging his sword into the dragon below. Before he could do this magic swirled around Stan as he fired bolt after bolt of magic at the dragon. The Dragon exploded into a bright green light knocking out everyone but Delphi and Vadath. The magic of the Green Stag and a mark apeared on everyone in the room. Delphi and Vadath removed the Dragons head in hopes of collecting the reward from the witch Yggwilv. The reward was three uses of the wish spell all that needed to be done was spend three nights at her hit with her.
As Vadath and Delphi traveled to Yggwilvs hut Vadath would reflect on his past battles and how little help he has truly been. He set his pride aside and confided to Delphi how his strength and battle prowess pales in comparison to his father's and how worthless he has felt in his battles. Delphi and Vadath discussed what they would wish for and they evetually came to an agreement. They would use one wish for thier own goals and use one to revive Ulka. While the pair traveled together Vadath caught word Dancer was on the move back to Seglock and new he had to meet up with her because of the bounty. Delphi promised to make make Vadaths wish on his behalf and the two parted ways. Delphi would go on to make the wish for Vadath though what she had to endure in the witches hut he cannot possibly imagine. As a show of his gratitude and loyalty Vadath has sworn to lend his sword to Delphi should she ever need it.
Sro guides the players to the Green Stag's lair, amps them up, then locks them inside to finish him off.
RIP Ulka, Jo. MVP=Venombane Armor
Session 15: Vezoth the White
Characters: Tordek, Violet, Varryn, Boros, Siobhin, Alenka, Reylendor.
DM: James (4/30)
Dragons Encountered: None unless the soul of Vezoth the White is counted.
XP Gained: 512 each
Synopsis:
The Soul Star and the Star Child (4/30/22)
This account of events comes from Reylendor Aspenmorrow.
While on the road, Reylendor was ambushed by the Servants, something he feared and suspected would eventually come to pass. He ran into the nearby forest and thankfully stumbled into a band of adventurers, though his pursuers managed to knock him down in the impending conflict. This allowed Att-Annalo’s energy to briefly surge within him before he regained his senses. Two Servants died while two escaped when they saw the battle turning sour for them. When he awoke, he was fully introduced to the adventurers who rescued him: Tordek, Violet, Varryn, Boros, and Siohbhin. Reylendor told them of the Servants’ plots and, not wanting to risk running into them again, decided to accompany them.
Upon arriving in the city to which the adventurers were summoned and rolling his eyes at the homes of wealthy wood elves, Reylendor was greatly put off by the Order. When they described the Soul Star and its origins in the Far Realm, all he saw was another arrogant, magic-obsessed sect determined to meddle with forces beyond their comprehension. Forgetting himself, he launched into a multi-language rant, during which he switched between Common, Elvish, and Abyssal before settling into Deep Speech. Ragnar the Red conversed with him, claiming to understand Reylendor’s hesitations as he had them too before he joined the order. Reylendor didn’t believe him, but chose to quiet himself.
The group then departed for Relith Tower to seek out the means to make another Soul Star and transfer the 299 souls out of Alenka, a star child the Order had been holding at their base. They prevailed against the Bone Naga guarding the tower, but not before Alenka fell in battle. A strange rock held by the druid dwarf Tordek reacted with Alenka and the 299 souls swirled out of her before being infused into a new Soul Star. Unfortunately, Alenka died as her own spirit simply faded out of existence.
As Reylendor had no faith in the Order, he suggested they not relinquish the Soul Star to them and the others seemed to agree. Further exploration of Relith Tower revealed a room on the top floor with a complex circle of magic and several pillars with spaces to place something. The Star was placed into one of these pillars and all the souls it contained were shot out into the world, including the one the Order most feared the escape of: a powerful dragon and general of Tiamat.
Since Reylendor was made aware that Relith Tower and the first Soul Star were crafted by a people who journeyed to the Material Plane from the stars, he wonders if a certain otherworldly artificer might have any input.
Session 16: Drakkoths I/Echamus I
Characters: Arlin, Vadeth, Nockdus, Grandmush, Tokax, Kihlek
DM: Kyle (5/10)

XP Gained: 533 each
Synopsis:
Vadath's Log: Shortly after Vadath parted ways with Delphi he met up with Dancer of the Borreal Valley and several others outside the city of Seglock. Upon entering the city the Satyr Rory was talking to a living conglomerate of mushrooms known as Grandmuush. Rory spotted both Vadath and Dancer of the Borreal Valley and asked Grandmuush if any one of the group had his daughter. Grandmuush sensed that Whisty was with them. Dancer handed the Whisty sapling to Vadath and proceeded to scamper off. Vadath and Rory exchanged a fee words and eventually little Whisty and her staff were given to Grandmuush for safe keeping. Amongst the group was a peculiar man by the name of Nockdus yet Vadath felt a strange draw towards the man. The group ventured into Seglocks library Vadath ran into a friend that saved his life when he fought the Green Stag. Ferris was huddled up holding an elderly woman's hand giving her comfort ,presumably for some pastries, Ferris introduced Vadath to her. Madame Webe told them that a village not far from Seglock was a village under attack from Drakoths. The rest of the group deterred deeper into the library while Vadath and Nockdus waited outside. Nockdus made a passing remark about wanting some snacks so him and Vadath wandered around the outskirts of the library. Sadly no snacks were found even though Vadath wasn't sure what they were looking for at the time. Eventually the rest of the group came out with a strange priest in tow and they all spoke to the towns guard captain who told them where to go. As they approached the village they saw it was on fire and still under attack. One of the group told them that the Drakoths were talking and mentioned somthing about only having a few days. Not wasting much time they set a plan into action and engaged the Drakoths in battle. While the group engaged the Drakoths the priest was supposed to stay behind but he decided to enter the fray himself. The priest turned into a large "whitish" dragon, grabbed one of the Drakoth and flew into the sky. The party could tell they were arguing in Draconic but nothing could be understood. The battle raged below as the priest/dragon let go of it prey and the Drakoth fell to the ground dead. Just before the last Drakoth fell it spoke of "the one who waits will come for you." The group managed to successfully defeat the Drakoth as well as save the remaining villagers. After killing the remaining Drakoths and returning to Seglock the group conversed with the Madame Webe yet again and asked her some questions. Madame Webe ,a lunaren priest, told them the Echamus ,the name of the strange priest, was a name of legends. He is supposedly "the moon child" or also known as The son of the moon dragon Eros. They also also question about "The one who waits" she told them that he is their peoples boogeyman and nothing more than a creature of darkness ment to scare little kids. When asked where this creature dwells the group was told. The tales claim that it lurks in the dark places, preying on those that stray from the blessed light of the moon. But one day it will no longer be satisfied with just that, and will come into the light, setting in motion a series of events that aren't good. All Madame Webe could tell them about The Moon Dragon Eros was that he is in charge of guarding what we would call "The Feywilds" and that Eros and "The One Who Waits" supposedly do not have any corralation to each other.
So on may 10th a group of us went to Seglock.
We were told some drakoth had destroyed a village not to far from Seglock by some survivors holed up in Seglocks library. An elderly woman spoke to us and warned us of the danger. A priest by the name of Echamus traveled with us from the library to the village. While fighting the Drakoths the priest joined the fight and turned into a "whitish dragon" and grabbed one of the Drakoth and flew up. Arguing could be heard in draconian from the two but couldn't be understood. Eventually the dragon dropped the drakoth and flew away. Another Drakoth mentioned that "The one that waits will see you soon. After killing the remaining Drakoth and returning to Seglock we conversed with the elderly woman yet again and asked her some questions. Her name is Madame Webe ,a lunalwn priest, and told us the Echamus was a name of legends. He is supposedly "the moon child" or also known as The son of the moon dragon Eros. We also question about "The one who waits" she told us that he is thier peoples boogeyman and nothing more than a creature of darkness ment to scare little kids. When asked where this creature dwells we were told. The tales claim that it lurks in the dark places, preying on those that stray from the blessed light of the moon. But one day it will no longer be satisfied with just that, and will come into the light, setting in motion a series of events that aren't good.
Session 17: Sardior I
Characters: Durian, Ensign, Delphi, Herneldo, Silent, Cynthia
DM: James (5/13)
Dragons Encountered: Sardior (Mentioned)
XP Gained:
Synopsis:
Delphi made a deal and freed Tasha’s pet god of death. After successfully killing Tasha’s 40 babies 2 out of the 3 nights. Ensign got half of a scrying orb to help fix his. And Durian learned about his egg. Oh and Cynthia now has a beetle mount.
Cythina's log:
Cynthia’s introduction to the loose coalition of adventures known as the Greedy Greeners was morbid and sudden. A reclusive hag named Yggwilv put out a hefty bounty on the Green Stag, a dragon mob boss of sorts. Cynthia and another mercenary, Herneldo, had recently slain a young green dragon; believing it to be the Green Stag, they took its severed head to Yggwilv’s bird-legged hut in the woods. They were unfortunately mistaken, and for their error, were consumed by the hut and knocked unconscious.
Some time later, the two awoke, disoriented and laying in a pile of corpses. A mysterious voice spoke to them, taunting them and threatening to eat their souls. It offered an ultimatum: invoke its name in prayer or be consumed. Cynthia and Herneldo both agreed. So began Cynthia’s tentative devotion to the entity called Silent.
After leaving the small room in which they awoke, Cynthia and Herneldo met with several other adventurers: Durian, Ensign, and Delphi. These three had slain the actual Green Stag, and had brought its head to retrieve the bounty. After some time, during which the group found an unsettling cage full of larval babies, Yggwilv appeared to inspect the Green Stag’s remains. She took the adventurers to her loom, where she laid out the deal they would be offered: three wishes in return for three days of work.
At her loom, Yggwilv revealed that she was really the witch queen Tasha. She regaled the party with tales of dragons from many times and many realms, fielding questions in return. One dragon in particular stood out: the ancient gem dragon Sardior. During this conversation, her relationship with Silent was also made clear: Silent was a minor god of death who was captured by Tasha and bound inside her hut as a pet of sorts. Still speaking in their heads, Silent urged the party to use one of their wishes to free her.
The work was morbid. The larvae would be released into an outer plane known as the Gray Wastes, where they would feed on the souls of the dead. Then, the party would be tasked with killing them to return their souls to Tasha’s hut. The Gray Wastes were not empty, though; monsters native to the plane would attempt to eat the larvae and their gathered souls. In order to aid in the battles, Tasha offered Cynthia her choice of mount from a downstairs menagerie. Cynthia chose a giant rhinoceros beetle, and the two formed a quick bond.
On the first day, the party successfully killed all of the larvae; the monsters of the Gray Wastes had yet to notice the operation. The second day proved more challenging; a monster grabbed Herneldo, and in the ensuing fray, several of the larvae escaped into the vast expanse of bones. The third day went more smoothly; the party once again successfully killed all of the babies.
For two successful days, the party received two wishes. Durian and Delphi had a plan for one of them, using it to resurrect a recently-fallen comrade. After some deliberation, the party used the other wish to free Silent from captivity. Unsure of their decision, the party returned to the material plane and parted ways. Cynthia, for her part, was allowed to keep her insectoid mount; she named the fearsome beast Henrik.
After those few days, Cynthia’s fate would become embroiled with the Greedy Greeners. She made herself a frequent visitor of their headquarters in Seglock, the continent’s largest city, and from that day forth, she would play a small part in the many world-shaking events to come.
Ensign's log, stardate 5.13.22, for Captain Saldani, should it be recovered:
I was requested to assist Delphi, a friend who I had established communications with earlier, in a mission to return a trophy from a large green dragon to a female mage known as Ygilwiv. Delphi hoped to receive a promised reward, 3 wishes , for killing the dragon, but this required staying with the elder mage 3 consecutive nights. Hoping to recover the wishes for Delphi and her compatriots who eliminated the dragon, she, myself and Durian (another contact) enter the woods to find the mage's location.
After searching for some time, we came across a strange wooden shack suspended in the air on avian legs. Upon finding a way on to the porch, we were able to enter the doorway, which acted like a portal to an inner dimension. Upon entering, we discover two other acquaintances, Herneldo and Cynthia, who agree to assist us in whatever duties we need to perform over the next 3 nights.
We are introduced to the two occupants of the hut. Ygilwiv (who we learn later is also known as Tasha, The Witch Queen, etc.) is a dimensional traveler and powerful user of local arcane magics. We also meet a being known as "Silence", who we learn later is a spiritual entity associated with death, who had been bound to the hut by Ygilwiv. Ygilwiv needed us to feed a collection of 40 entities which had the body of large insectoid larva with the heads of humanoid infants. The infantile larva needed (by Ygilwiv's report) to feed on energy in a location known as Hades, then (due to their demonic origins and being bound to the hut) needed to be killed to return them to their enclosure. Each night we were able to successfully recover all the infants, we would be granted a wish.
While we accomplished this, the non-corporeal entity known as "Silence" requested the aid of the away team. They needed us to invoke their name in order to recover strength, and in return they would assist us in the evening infant round-up. The team agreed, which seemed to bolster the entity's power.
I will review the results of the tests and the wishes at the conclusion of this log, but I wanted to make note of other interesting facts gathered from the knowledgable mage Tasha. Tasha recounted about how many of the dimensions she had traveled to had beings of similar natures. Dragons, she used as an example, could be found in many types across the multi-verse and beyond. On a tapestry she referenced during this story, there were examples of many types of dragons (I should note, Captain, that there was an image which was obviously a Relic Dragon. This was the first time I had met someone who identified anything from our part of space).
I informed Tasha the details of Relic dragons, and she became fascinated, having never seen a Relith before. She recounted having come across a tower known as the "Relith Tower", but had not been there in millennia (I began at this point to theorize that this entity was more ancient and powerful than they appeared). I agreed to a cloning procedure so that Tasha could expand their scientific knowledge of Relith species, and in exchange was given compensation to the amount that I had surmised would be needed to repair the damaged artifact recovered from our last adventure.
After 3 nights, we were able to complete Tasha's task twice, and rewarded with 2 wishes. the first was used on behalf of one of Delphi's companions who was not there to gain their reward. It was wished that they would become very strong and smart (as well as other physical traits). The second wish was used to free the bound entity previously mentioned (Silence), who I cannot forsee ever becoming a problem in the future.
PROGRAM, End log.
Session 18: Cheshire II
Characters: Percy, Cecil, Arlin, Vadeth, Reylendor, Kellen, Mumiy
DM: Dave (5/17)
Dragons Encountered: None
XP Gained: 740 each
Synopsis:
Vadath's Log: Vadath once again found himself employed by the Order of the Watchful Eye of Gammelgard. This time he met up with his companions and they met up with a cheerful scribe by the name of Tibby. Tibby told the group about how recently wagons full if supplies leaving the city have been ransacked and have gone missing. The party took the job of finding out what has been happening. The plan was to take a cart with some horses and hide some of the party inside the cart while the rest drove it. Well as they traveled they evetually came across a fallen tree blocking thier path. Sure enough it was an ambush spot set up by the mutated goblins that were encountered before. The group fought expertly against the platoon of mutated goblins saving their leader for last. Vadath and Kellen came up with the idea to capture the goblin leader and bring him back to Falgrim Norest. The two cornered the leader tackling him to the ground and restraining him. After a brief struggle the goblin gave up and became the parties prisoner. The Gnome Cecil questioned the goblin asking where the supplies were and where the survivors were if any. The Goblin led them down a fairly hidden trail to some ruins. A few of the group tried to sneak up and get a closer look to see what they could find to report back. Before they could do much of anything a massive mutated Orc walked over one of the burms. The Orc saw Vadath and his companions and open fired with very large hand cannons narrowly missing his targets. The group decided to make a tactical retreat since they were exhausted and spent from the pervious battle with the gang of goblins. Upon returning back to Gammelgard and linking up with Falgrim the placed the mutated goblin leader in his custody. Falgrim was quite happy to have a living specimen not only to study but to question as well. Falgrim believes am alchemist by the name of Horatio Chesire is behind these mutated creatures. Falgrim also suspects that Horatio is in league with the dragon known as Longfang, who the goblin chief said was his master. Vadath relayed to Falgrim the passing of their mutual companion the druid Tordek and Falgrim poured one out for his fallen dwarven brethren.
On the events of 5/17/22, as recorded by Cecil T Puddingtonsworthshire XIX, Esq.
Upon hearing of the dastardly deeds of a nearby Goblin Horde that was terrorizing the local countryside, the illustrious Cecil T Puddingtonsworthshire (of House Puddingtonsworthshire) recruited a band of misfits and n’er-do-wells to confront the menace under his command. Under Cecil’s brave and inspiring leadership, a two pronged assault was launched against the cowardly and slow-witted goblins, who were easily outmatched by the stunning display of leadership and marksmanship of everyone’s favorite Gnome. Under his auspicious guidance, none of the rank and file of Cecil’s platoon suffered any serious injuries, except when they failed to heed the orders of their munificent leader.
This battle action, which will be studied by Gnomish scholars for generations, resulted in the eradication of approximately 55 goblins, with their leader captured and delivered back to headquarters for interrogation.
After the battle, a scouting party, bravely led by the venerable Cecil himself, located the base of operations of these goblins and their orcish compatriots. However, cowardice of the band of misfits prevented a full scale assault, of which the Gnomish leader would most certainly have been successful.
Post the Events of 5/17/22; Concerning Reylendor Aspenmorrow’s Actions
Post battle debriefing, Reylendor asked around about Ensign’s location and learn he was in the Loxodon town where they had first met. Apparently, he had taken to helping the local Apothecary in exchange for space in the backroom. The two analyzed vials of mutant Goblin saliva Reylendor obtained from the lead Goblin. He also learned that Relith Tower shared the name of Ensign’s home, to which he wished to return. In exchange for his insight with both the saliva and tower, Reylendor marked Relith’s location on Ensign’s map, but not before warning him to be wary of any wandering spirits.

Synopsis:
Vadath's Log: Another job for the good dwarf Falgrim Norest and the peoples of Gammelgard. The noose was closing on the alchemist working with 'Longfang'. The captured Goblin leader had dislcosed the whereabouts of the alchemist. Vadath and several other set out with some backup from the Order of the Watchful Eye. Vadath found the alchemists lab right where the goblin said it would be. The Goblin also made mention of a secret underground area that no one but Horatio himself could enter. Noctus and Dancer scaled the Cliffside surrounding the lab on an attempt to find its exit while Vadath and the others stormed the front. Violet a tiefling in the party was spotted when two large mutated orcs step out of the lab and that is when all he'll broke loose. Vadath knowing the importance of capturing Horatio took matters into his own hands. He drank his potion of Frost Giant Streangth, a Potion of Speed, and his friend Arlin blessed him with a shield of faith. Now stronger, faster and more resolute then he as ever been he began his assault on the lab. One of the orcs broke off and attacked Violet whole the other became Vadaths first target. When Vadath sprung into action he quickly dispatched the remaining orx and cockily knocked on the labs door challenging those inside. The door opened to reveal some monstrosity wielded a double bladed glaive and two more orcs. Quickly going to work Vadtah soon disposed of the monster and one of the orcs. As he entered the lab with the rest of the party in toe he spotted yet another one of those monstrosities. He rushed it and took it down swinging his trusted greatsword with a furry never before seen. Noktus opened a door not far from the entrance this time revealing tow more of these double bladed glaive wielding monstrosities. These two though were mutated as sign of Horatios handiwork. Knowing how deadly Horatios poison is that infects his mutations Vadath wasted no time. Noktus and Spinal attacked the one closest to the door while the other tried to break the walls down to get at them. Vadath saw and opening and took it. Charging the first he slew it with ease and immediately went to work on the second. He stood his ground and vanquished the last one with little difficulty. All while this was happening Dancer found what she believed to be Horatios secret escape route. She expertly placed a snare at its mouth and when the battle finished Horatio attempted his escape in some fort of metal tube. The snare did its job wonderfully and stopped his escape and the tube tumbled down the cliff side to the rocky beach below. Spinal communicated woth Dancer through a spell and alerted Vadath of what had transpired below. With then potions still I'm effect Vadath decended the Cliffside and broke Hortatio out of his metal coffin. Horatio had very little to say he began to say his masters true name but never said it before correcting himself to saying 'Longfang'. Vadath and Dancer pulled the man out and bound him and brought him to the city of Gammelgard with the rest of the party. The crew also brought some of the mutated monstrosities back for Falgrim to study. While Vadath fought with the Orcs they shot some sort of crude projectile weaponry at home which me managed to get his hands on after the fight. Vadath thought for a little while and got an idea on how to use the enemies innovated weaponry against them. With the help of Ensign the two designed a sort of gunblade by combining the Orc weapons with Vadaths greatsword. Vadath and Ensign would work on the weapon together to bring more of Isonhounds enemies to heel.
Also from Vadeth: Vadath and several others were employed by the Order of the Watchful Eye to hunt down Horatio Chesire. The captured goblin boss had given good information on his whereabouts as well as a potential secret entrance. The compound was stormed by the adventurers and a very roided up Goliath Barbarian. All enemies were slaughtered without prejudice and Horatio Chesire himself was successfully captured and has been brought back to Gammelgard for questioning!
Spinel's hastily scrawled notes: We gave a barbarian speed juice and Falgrim's fire while raging.

Synopsis: With Horatio secured and turned over to the Order of the Watchful Eye, Nockdus went with Dancer back to the Hallasan refugees and met of with some adventurers ready to escort the them back to their village. After a quiet journey with the said refugees back to their homes the party became aware of a mystical sage staying at nearby encampment who's location was protected from attacks by dragons. The party traveled to this encampment and met with the sage. Dur'kalak came face to face with the warrior protecting the encampment who turned out to be someone familiar with his past. The two pledged to take down the dragon that destroyed their home together. After a short conversation with some of the other people in the encampment the party then participated in a mystical ceremony where each party member had the privilege to ask one question to be answered by the Moon God. Ensign found out some information about the people hoping to find him and return him home. During this ceremony as the magical energies flowed through the space, Nockdus suddenly felt alive again. He inhaled deeply since it suddenly became necessary to for him to breathe once again. He asked for a piece of chocolate from Buho, ate it, and was once again able to savor the flavors that can only come from a dedicated confectioner. After the ceremony concluded, Nockdus was moved to tears from getting to experience the feeling of being alive once again and the heartbreak of it's subsequent loss.
After the ceremony the party was given a powerful relic, the Moonwell. This silver basin resembleing a small bowl on a stand is capable of providing protection from dragons in a one mile radius. After much debate and discussion, the heroes of Quelmar voted as a community to place the Moonwell in the city of Seglock in hopes of creating a safe place for refugees fleeing the chaos the dragons of the realm had been stirring up lately.

Synopsis:
Vadaths' Log: Vadath and several others were personally asked by Falgrim Norest to assist in uncovering where these mutated goblins were getting their armor from. The Order of the Watchful Eye reached out to the Wold Order and an emissary was sent to Gammelgard. Aldean El'Naddath of House Kessaria , the elven emissary and member of the Sylvan Order, along with Falgrim Norest met with Vadath and the rest of the party in Gammelgards mess hall. Aldean explained the goblins were likely getting their armor pieces from a nearby elven Crypt. This particular Crypt is important to Sylvan Order because in it is buried Sir Beren Cohnal a paladin and esteemed Commander of the Sylvan Order. The group was given two amulets with the symbol of the Sylvan Order. These amulets were blessed and were ment to help the party. Aldean expressed concern for Sir Berens spirit and wanted the group to ensure his spirit was not defiled. Aldean and Falgrim gave the party a map, some strong horses as well as a wagon to carry the group. Within a few hours the party arrived at the Crypt of Sir Beren. They were greeted by immovable stone doors and signs of goblin and Orc tracks all over the surrounding area. Arlin held up his medallion to the stone and is magically unsealed itself. The group was able to enter the Crypt from an entryway the goblins weren't able to. Upon entering ghosting blue lights ignited from the torches on the walls. In the center of the room was a stone tomb with the carving of an elf. One of the party members held up the Sylvan Amulet to the tomb and Sir Berens spirit appeared and greated the group. After talking with Sir Beren and gaining what info they could the group promised to rid his Crypt of the vile goblins. Sir Beren opened a door behind him and agreed to magically hold it shut for the party. It wasn't long before the group encountered the enemy. Vadath rushed in and was surrounded on all sides by mutated goblins and orcs. One Orc stood out the most because it was riding a large fanged beast. With Vadath, Arlin and Spinel holding the front line while Boros and Buho supported with magic it wasnt long before the enemy was routed. Vadath tried to claim the mount the orc was riding as his own but when Arlin tried to heal it he could tell his god would not be pleased by such an act, and the creatures life was then ended. Dancer and Percy were keeping watch down another hallway were more sounds of goblins could be heard. With Sir Berens blessings Vadath and Buho opened and examined the two sarcophagus in the room. Weapons and a shield were found amongst Sir Berens fallen comrades. Vadath and Buho made their way down another hallway in an attempt to pincer the remaining enemies. Before long the entire Crypt was emptied of the goblin menace. Sir Beren willingly let the party keep the treasures they found within his Crypt. Upon returning and reporting what happened Aldean was relieved to hear Sir Berens spirit remained in tact. Aldean was also kind enough to identify the treasures that were found. Some of the treasures that were recovered needed special certificates to prove that those that took them were the rightful owners. Aldean and Falgrim extended thanks to the party and Buho made his way to the kitchen to make celebratory chocolates for everyone. What happened in that kitchen no one can say but a fire erupted from within causing everyone to leave. With another mission success Vadath asked both Buho and Dancer if they would join The Band of the Iron Hawks and both agreed.
Falgrim introduced the party to the elf Aldean El’Naddath of House Kessaria (Emissary of the Wold Order and member of the Sylvan Order), who shared how the renowned elven paladin (and Commander of the Sylvan Order) Sir Beren Cohnal's crypt had been desecrated. He gave the party amulets from his order, which later opened the tomb’s door. The party spoke to his spirit, who said that all but the entry room had been desecrated and only four of his guardians remained. The party pushed on, clearing out cheshire goblins and orcs. The team discovered many empty, raided tombs in the crypts. It seems their armor and weapons had been taken and warped by the monsters. Beren's spirit gave the party his blessing to remove items from his remaining lieutenants in thanks for clearing out his crypt. On the party’s return, Aldean identified the impressive array of found items, and provided personalized letters to those with items marked by his order, so that no elf would question their use in non-elf hands.
Spinel’s hastily scrawled notes: Fancy elf man talks a lot. Dancer really wanted to follow tracks around the crypt, but instead Percy just opened the door. Goblins are smelly. Vadeth really wanted to ride the goblin’s mount, but it didn’t end well. But we found where the cheshire armor was coming from. And now I have a nice fiery sword. Spirit man couldn’t eat Buho’s gift of chocolate. When we got back, Buho set a big fire trying to do more cooking. My fur smells like smoke. Maybe I’ll sleep outside tonight.

Cynthia's Log
While in the Greedy Green headquarters in Seglock, Cynthia was made aware of a great dragon’s hoard that lay in a cavern beyond the Dread Titan’s Firegates. The Firegates had recently opened, and the motley crew of people in the Greedy Green HQ at the time were tasked with retrieving the treasure. A recently-built altar to Silent meant that she too would come on the journey.
On the way there, the party occupied themselves with all manner of activities. Aesir played his pan flute, Joshua and Karl raided a goblin encampment for some booze, and Cynthia doted on Henrik. In a particularly memorable occurrence, Henrik met Aesir’s dog, and some Speak with Animals-related shenanigans ensued.
Eventually, the party reached the Firegates. Joshua scouted ahead, while Cyan and Karl spoke with the local wildlife. Apparently, a group of cultists had extablished a hideout in the cave. The party ventured in, encountering an elven girl named Raritan who had been kidnapped by the cultists. Cyan knew Raritan as the first mate of a ship that she was familiar with. Raritan told the party that the cultists were worshipers of Tiamat, and that the dragon inside the cave was a red dragon. The party sent Raritan on her way before heading deeper in.
The inside of the cave was littered with giant bones that seemed to be those of a dragon. After some time, the party came across a giant dragon’s skull. Cyan was apparently familiar with this dragon. They were friends before its death; the dragon helped Cyan through a rough patch in her life. The party paid their respects and ventured ever deeper.
At first, the party encountered only meager resistance from the cultists. They wielded powerful magic, but had little in the way of defense, and the party’s warriors dispatched them with ease.
In one room, deep in the cave, there was an altar to Tiamat that appeared to be covered in blood. Karl, drunk and enraged at the worshipers of the dragon god, struck the altar with his axe, damaging it. However, this also set off a trap, filling the room with a fireball. When the smoke had cleared, the party was barely alive, but Henrik had been killed by the blaze. Cynthia confronted Karl, and he had little explanation for his outburst.
On the verge of death, the party attempted to rest in the cave. Unfortunately, another group of cultists interrupted their rest, and though the party eventually prevailed, Cyan was killed in the battle. Nonetheless, the group pressed on.
Eventually, the party reached the dragon’s hoard. They were met with a fearsome red dragon, but soon found that it was an illusion. It was actually a river dragon, Mentztonalcoatl, that had been captured by the cultists and used as a deterrent. It directed the party to the Selune Splinter, a giant magical gem that could create powerful illusions, which they deactivated. Mentztonalcoatl explained that Cyan could potentially be brought back by casting his remains into the nearby river together with the dragon bones throughout the cave. These bones were those of Tlayohualcoatl, the son of Mentztonalcoatl. The party was unable to extricate all of the bones at the time, but they made it a mission of the Greedy Greeners.
After dressing her wounds, Cynthia buried one of Henrik’s mandibles in a small clearing in the forest outside of Seglock.

Important Things that Happened:
Vadath's Log:
Vadath again found himself in the employ of the The Order of the Watchful Eye. Falgrim Norest gave the companions information regarding an orc encampment where they were potentially breeding their mutated fanged mounts. Falgrim also disclosed that the fanged mounts the orcs were riding were in some way of draconic lineage but mutated by Chesire. Vadath along with several other Iron Hawks set out to search and destroy this encampment. Dancer leading the way and following the map guided them to the encampment. Noktus and Dancer both scouted the encampment from surrounding trees and Buho telepathically communicated their findings to the rest of the group. Vadath waited for the signal to storm the front gate while Arlin, Spinel, and Cynthia took up a flankong position. Vadath with Buho on his shoulder disguised as a backpack rushed into the middle of the encampment taking an attack from a goblin half heartedly guarding the entrance. Dancer and Noktus fired arrows from their concealed positions as the remaing three began to flank the encampment. Once entering the compound Vadath threw severl vials of Falgrims Fire into the encampment burning as much of it as possible. Buho supported from the air spreading choas and confusion amongst the enemy ranks. It wanst long before Vadath and the rest of the group were close to being overwhelmed. Holding fast and blocking the entrance forming a choke point Vadath squard off against two orcs. One of them was one of Chesires normal mutations the other shrugged off many well struck blows from Vadath before eventually falling. Cynthia was down and both Arlin and Spinel were in the jaws of the dreaded fanged mounts. Vadath believing the situation dire and seeing his companions on the brink of defeat drank his remaining potion of speed in an attempt to turn the battle in their favor. Both Arlin and Spinel managed to free themselves from the jaws of the enemy and took them down as well. Noktus decended from his perch attacking an orc with his magic obliterating it and stirking terror into the remaining enemies as they were showered in the blood and viscera that was once their companion. The entire encampment was slaughtered save for one of the mounts that the group captured. Vadath will make attempts to train it so that one of Chesires prize creations can be used against him. Upon returning to Gammelgard with the city in view a shadow engulfed the returning heros. A multi headed dragon swooped in over them and stormed Gammelgard. The massive dragon began to destroy a tower within the city as the city guard and those of the Order tried to bring it down. All Vadath and his companions could do was watch in horror as this terrifying creature created destruction and devastation in its wake. The dragon flew away after it ransacked the tower and over the commotion of the town the group heard a familiar voice from the back of the dragon. The dragon had freed Horatio Chesire and he was exclaiming "And the might of Tiamat can not be resisted! I shall Purge you all in her chaos!"
After the attack Falgrim met up with Vadath and spoke to him about his captured Fanged Beast. Falgrim tried to persuade Vadath to just buy a horse instead of attempt to tame the horrible creature but Vadath saw and opportunity and took it. Buho and Vadath began attempting to speak with the creature through Buhos ritual magic. The spell was successful though the creature only saw the two companions as food and nothing more. Buho attempted to persuade the creature bit to no avail. Vadath had lost his patience drsnk a vial of dragons blood, drew his newly forged Gunglade and rushed at the creature putting it up against the beasts throat. With a steely gaze Vadath threatened to let the creature starve and that he would kill it just like he has killed a few before it. The creature submitted to Vadaths brutality saying "You are strong. We hunt. Now." and allowed Vadath to mount the beast. After several attempts Vadath got the hang of mounting and dismounting the beast. While the beast listens to Vadath it is still a monstrous creation. It is not aggressive to his allies nor would it be considered friendly towards them. For the time being Vadath has secured a fairly lethal new companion.
Our heroes once again took a job posting from the Order of the Watchful eye and set out in an attempt to find where the Chesire orcs may or may not be breeding their Fanged Mounts. It was also discovered that these mounts were in some way of draconic lineage though mutated by Chesire. It wasn't long before the encampment was found and our heros began their assault. Though it was a brutal fight eventually our heroes came out on top. Even so much as being able to bring back a tougher breed of Chesire Orc and one of the fanged mounts. Upon their return to the city a giant shadow engulfed them. Over head loomed a giant multi headed dragon that began to assault the city of Gammelgard. The Dragon laid waste to a tower within the city and before long flew away. A familiar voice could be heard over the destruction. It was the voice of Horatio Chesire himself yelling from the back of the massive multi headed dragon about the devastation Tiamat will bring forth. "And the might of Tiamat can not be resisted! I shall Purge you all in her chaos!"
6/28: The mounts bite really hard, so we want to find where they are coming from. We attacked the camp head on. There was a lot of Falgrim’s fire. We had some close calls, but took them out. Only a few got away. And Vadeth finally managed to get his mount.
Cynthia's Log
Some time later, Cynthia answered a posting from Falgrim Norest Gammelgard (a largely dwarvish port city) to defend against monstrosities that were mounting an assault against the city. She traveled there and met with several members of the mercenary company known as the Band of the Iron Hawks. Together, they were briefed by Falgrim on the situation.
A mad alchemist, Horatio Cheshire, had been creating monstrous, powerful versions of orcs and goblins. Recently, these creations had been attacking on mutated dragons called Fang Mounts, and there was word that the orcs were attempting to breed them. Falgrim had traced the operation to an abandoned fortress on the Saphabian River, and tasked the party with wiping it out.
Dancer, the Iron Hawks’ First Ranger, easily led the party through the forests surrounding Gammelgard, and they were able to sneak up on the river outpost. The battle was a tough one; Arlin, the Clerical Captain of the Iron Hawks, was grabbed by one of the Fang Mount’s mouth, while Cynthia was knocked out by a goblin. Nonetheless, the group pulled through, killing the horribly mutated orcs and goblins. Cynthia incapacitated the last remaining Fang Mount, offering it to Vadath, the Iron Hawks’ leader. Vadath vowed to tame the beast, even against the protestations of Falgrim.
The peace brought by the battle was not to last, however; the party watched on in horror as a great five-headed dragon landed nearby before flying off into the countryside. Surely, Tiamat could not have come here, to Isonhound, right?
Cynthia was impressed by her first encounter with the Band of the Iron Hawks. They displayed coordination, bravery, and tenacity, and their mission of keeping the people of Isonhound safe was a noble one. Little did she know that one day she would join their ranks.

Important Things that Happened:
To thank the heroes all throughout Isonhound, the City of Seglock hosted a small festival in their honor. While the intention was to both thank the heroes and help lift the spirits of the community who had faced numerous threats recently, the outcome would become marred with tragedy by the events that unfolded in the early evening of that day.
Booths filled a small courtyard to the north of Seglock University (home of the three time regional Olympia Magisteria champions, the Fighting Owlbears) providing ample food, games, and other various form of distractions to the citizenry. Local bards like “Skinny Leonard” and the band “The Bare-knuckled Laddies” preformed live for eager audiences. As smiles were shared and revelry was made, some of the heroes being celebrated partook in the festivities.
The Beirgarden:
Adventurers like Vadath, Karl Anders, and Trina decided to partake in some of the potent potables being offered. Some drank mead and wine to be social, some drank “Utter Moron” to tempt fate, and some drank actual dragon’s blood so they could talk to the monstrous mount they had recently captured.
The Dunking Booth:
Adventurers like Reylendor, Tristram, and Linden took turns trying to drop the boisterous town crier into some Seglock river water at the dunking booth. As toss after toss consistently missed the target the ostentatious man continued to taunt the participants, emboldened by their failures. It was not until Delphi approached the line and casually tossed a single pitch toward the awaiting target did the town crier finally fall into basin below him. There was much rejoicing!
The Cooking Contest:
Six adventurers entered into the cooking contest at the festival, each bringing a unique dish reflective of themselves to the judging table. Linden came in third with her vegetarian inspired Feywild Meet Pie where the buttery, flaky crust contained a savory sauce and a mouth watering aroma. Balgeiros came in second with his Eladrin Ale and its surprisingly pleasant chewy sediment that initially looked off putting. Similarly, the initially concerning dish of Steak Tartare offered by Nockdus came in first place even though it was a well presented plate of raw ground beef and vegetables topped with a raw egg yolk. Sadly, Percy was disqualified from the competition when his 5 Alarm Dragons Breath Chili caused numerous judges to seek medical attention from its scorching spices.
Arm Wrestling:
Over at the Arm Wresting Table Dur’Kalak made ready to take down any challenger foolish enough to face him. Karl Anders responded with a “Hold my Utter Moron” and took him up on it. Whether it was genuine or just for the theatrics, Dur’kalak curtailed any forward momentum Karl Anders tried to muster and slowly forced the other man’s hand to touch the table and thereby solidified his claim as champion of the Gala.
Gambling:
Some adventurers like Reylandor, Delphi, and Balgerious thought the gods of luck were on their side and entered into the raffle. Sadly, luck was not in their favor and each ended up without winning tickets. Delphi further tempted luck by attempting to “Roll Higher than Stan.” She lost again and was forced to wear a bright green floppy hat and dance a silly dance. Delphi leaned into the challenge and began to prance around the area like a rainbow colored zebra in a circus prompting Stan to applaud her efforts and declare the challenge “Well met.”

Important Things that Happened:
After the initial welcoming distractions of the Gala of Protection that each of the party members participated in, there was a sudden crash of chaos as the various factions causing strife around Isonhound began a coordinated attack around the three southern gates of the city of Seglock. Seven of the adventurers attending the Gala rushed toward the center of the commotion at the middle gate as others spread out to the two gates on the left and right sides respectively.
The center group initially encountered a significant cadre of alchemically enhanced goblins commonly known as “Cheshire Goblins.” As swords clashed and spells were slung a professor associated with the nearby university exited a nearby building with a combat capable automaton by his side. The party watched in jubilant surprise as the automaton sprayed some of the injured goblins with a cone of alchemical fire that initially burned them but then caused the goblin’s blood to boil, their bodies begin to loose cohesion, and then ultimately burst into a pile of fetid goo. When the goblins were all dispatched, a mighty roar was heard from above. The professor urged the party to swiftly move into a nearby building, but before they could everyone was raked with a devastating poisonous attack breathed down on the area by a multiheaded dragon flying overhead.
The party scrambled into the nearby building that the professor had escaped into and pulled those who were lying unconscious on the ground into the safety of the structure. Taking but a moment to cast healing spells and drink potions to recover from the recent events, the party found themselves in an alchemical laboratory belonging to the university. The professor aiding them was responsible for alchemical coursework for the university but was also studying some of the creations menacing the region. As the party looked toward an unconscious drakkoth secured to a converted pool table in the corner, the professor explained that he had recently discovered a reagent that when it comes in contact with the blood flowing through a Cheshire Creation causes a devastating chemical reaction that ultimately kills them. The key to this reagent though is that the target must be injured enough for the chemical to cascade throughout the target’s body. The professor distributed some doses of the reagent to the party members, refilled his automaton with more of the reagent, and urged the party to progress toward the breach where the intruders were emerging from.
Charging into the next room on the way to the center gate the party encountered three of Cheshire’s most deadly creations, dual-bladed glaive wielding guardians. The professor nearly died before the party were able to dispatch the monstrosities, but the reagent was proving to be effective on the hulking brutes as well. The party pressed on and met up with another professor, a dryad responsible for druidic studies, and their own automaton companion as well. The group soon approached the breach as a mass of goblins and guardians burst through the rubble. The magical members of party and the professors produced a devastating combination of spells to styme the intruders in their tracks allowing the “Hackers” and automatons to quickly dispatch them.
With the rush of combat dissipating, the party worked with the professors to fortify the broken gate and plug the holes created in the initial moments of the invasion. As the city guard came to relive them, the party members took only a moment to bind their wounds and catch their breath before dealing with the incredible aftermath from the day’s events.

Vadath's Log: Vadath and along with several other adventurers were attending Seglocks Galla of Protection when the festivities were cut short by disaster. The adventurers broke off into three groups with the group Vadath was in rushing to Seglock colleges West Gate. Upon entering the group found the living quarters of the students and faculty under assault. Above the living quarters a multi headed dragon flew away in the night. The adventurers entered through a cafeteria finding a few students and a professor trying to escape the way they came in. Upon entering Vadath saw Chesire goblins and a Chesire Orc attacking everyone inside. As Vadath charged straight at the Orc leader the life cleric Linden Rue hopped onto his back to lend a hand. As Vadath charged Tristham magically held the Orc in place and Vadath cut him down with ease. The crew mopped up the remaining goblins sadly one student was killed. Professor Galloway was hurt but still alive and told the adventures the Chesire Goblins were searching for and gathering research. The group moved down the hallway to the living quarters. Several orcs and goblins were waiting for them and the group engaged them. As the group fought the Chesire creations a thudding mechanical sound came from the hallway behind them. Omen a tiefling warlock warned the group a hulking metal construct was in its way. As the construct rounded the corner it immediately attacked Patches and incapacitated him. Vadath saw this turned around and rushed the construct. As Vadath assaulted the construct Omen teleported behind it and tried talking to the professor cowering behind it. After awhile the construct fell to Vadath and Omens assault. Vadath climbed over the construct to get to the professor Omen was arguing with and restrained him believed he was working with the construct. Linden Rue helped interrogate the professor with the spell "Zone of Truth". Vadath asked a few questions though the important one was if the professor was going to hand over his research and work with Chesire to save his own skin. The professor chose not to answer because he was being magically forced to tell the truth. Vadath having hunted Horatio Chesire and knowing the havack he has caused took the restrained professor and his research to the Iron Eyrie to discuss what to do with him with his Guild. It seemed to Vadath that the college had secrets and experiments similar to Horatios orcs. Vadath and his guild are discussing weather to return the professor to the college or to hand him and his research over to Falgrim and the Order of the Watchful Eye. With the guilds tennat of Protecting the peoples of Isonhound the Band of the Iron Hawk must decide what to do. The college may have once expelled Horatio Chesire but it seems they have research he desires as well as some experiments frightfully similar.
This group of adventurers cut their festivities short when a huge explosion was heard from the direction of Seglock University. They rushed through the Right Gate into a dining hall, where Cheshire's goblins and a few orcs armed with projectile weapons were attacking students and professors. One student was unfortunately killed before two more could be rescued, with the aid of Professor Galloway. This professor was so thankful for their help that he later rewarded each adventurer with a Scroll of Boiling Oil. He claimed that the goblins were raiding the university for alchemical supplies and research notes, and these creatures were seen dashing between doors in the dormitory. The group didn't make it to the end of the living quarters where the professors lived, but on the way they did encounter a massive automaton followed by a very shifty Professor Hargraves. He was carrying an armful of supplies and his research notes and refused to answer any questions posed by the adventurers. Intrigued and frustrated by this, members of the Band of the Iron Hawk seized the professor and took his assets, but not before defeating the automaton. As night fell and the adventuring party retreated from the site, they noticed a multi-headed dragon flying high in the sky and breathing fire.

Important Things that Happened: The day after the attack on Seglock University, several adventurers set out to investigate what had happened. They got clearance from Mayor Towson (but no promise of payment) to ask Captain Visio about talking to the prisoner Professor Hargraves. Also in the room was "The Baron", an Eladrin Elf with not much to say of significance. Captain Visio was found at the field hospital set up initially as a refugee camp, but now being used to house the dozens of people wounded in the attack. Dr. Le'Brock, a Dragonborn doctor is currently running the field hospital and directed the heroes to the Captain. Cpt. Visio was found digging pits for the fallen, and was assisted by Amund Zen and Búho. After some convincing, he gave the adventurers permission to review Prof. Hargraves' seized belongings at the prison barracks, and handed them a "Torso Coin" as proof of his word. Nockdus had also made an impressive and successful effort of not devouring any corpses during the visit to the field hospital, where they were surrounded by dead, dying, and bleeding people.
On the way to the prison, Omen ran ahead of the party and made a wax mold of the Torso Coin for unknown reasons. The coin was brought to Lieutenant Steve Torso, who mumbled something about three other coins being in existence. He gave the heroes the keys to the contraband room, where Nockdus and Percy copied Prof. Hargraves' notes with the aid of a forgery kit and a Silent Image spell. Surprisingly, Amund Zen handed the key set over to Omen to sneak over to the professor's cell, "for the greater good." Unfortunately, the geometry of the barracks did not allow for such a thing. Búho, Omen, and Eurus convinced Ltn. Torso to let them talk to the professor for a few minutes with an incredible amount of charisma. Hargraves was again unwilling to speak much, and would only promise to give more information if released. Altogether, the party learned that (1) Professor Hargraves had no one else he could trust at the university, (2) he has a recipe for acidic glue, (3) Horatio Cheshire had tried to hire the professor but he turned him down, (4) Hargraves was Cheshire's former star pupil, and (5) he had notes on several years of research describing how to add or remove mutations. Upon leaving the barracks, Nockdus was able to pickpocket the Torso Coin from Ltn. Steve Torso, returning the number of coins out in the wild to four.
The adventurers then went on to the university to gather more information. A few members of the party split off to go to the school spirit store and buy some Fighting Owlbears merch. The others spoke with Magus Varellion Savynne, a tall, bald, and feminine appearing elf bearing markings of the Geodaury. She informed the heroes that Hargraves had been temporarily fired from the university at an earlier point, but was rehired on conditions of good behavior. It also came up in conversation that one of the warehouses that was looted in the city had advanced projectile weapons (guns). The party was reunited by an incredibly eager and bald associate professor with words floating above his head, who insisted on introducing the Magus with great bravado. Savynne was unimpressed by this display and curtly dismissed the professor. At the conclusion of their discussion, the party made its way back to the mayor to reveal what they had learned. Búho was drawn toward a partially wrecked building by the smell of decadent chocolate. It was here that he was reunited with his former mentor, who had started him on the path of becoming a world-class chocolatier. She revealed to him the secret ingredient that was missing in his recipes and leading to gastrointestinal distress - carob. With a face full of happy tears, Búho requested that he travel with her for a while and she agreed.

Important Things that Happened: The 128th Annual Olympia Magisteria
Recap from Reylendor:
- On the Olympia Magisteria (8/6/22) “As it would turn out, it is in fact not a good idea to participate in unnecessary, exceedingly strenuous events when harboring a fraction of an eldritch abomination in one’s soul. It is perhaps even less of a good idea to do so when one has recently experienced stress onset by the knowledge that the cult associated with the Far Realm that they’re hiding from has taken residence in a tower connected to said realm. All of this is, of course, compounded by the fact that the day’s events were broadcast to countless individuals throughout the land. Truly, the level of foolishness I have displayed is astounding. I, for some unearthly reason, attended the Olympia Magisteria games. I was given a VIP ticket—likely for helping Seglock during the Goblin/Tiamat crisis—and decided that I had nothing better to do than prevent an incoming nervous breakdown by drowning myself in a crowd of fans. Unfortunately, members from both teams went missing, and VIPs were called to fill the missing spots. Despite showing a hint of intellect when I was apprehensive about participating, I lost all shred of caution and agreed to fill in anyway.”
- “I was on a team with Cecil, a rather eccentric gnome, and a dragonborn fellow named Volrac. The latter was one of two among us who looked like they belonged in a sporting event: the other was a tiefling called Igniticus—I thought he was rather full of himself at first, but from what I saw of his performance, his arrogance may have been justified. During introductions, I’m afraid I nearly blinded the cameraman with an Eldritch Blast. It’s disquieting to know the spell still comes so naturally to me after all this time. The goal of every game was to steal a shrunken version of the opposing team’s mascot and bring it from their side of the field to ours. First, the field we played on took the appearance of an alchemist’s set. There were so many different formulas being diluted and diffused onto the ground around us. I even saw acid that had been thinned enough to retain an irritating, sticky quality without causing any actual damage. I wish I had taken samples. I was so occupied by the equipment that I hardly noticed the game playing out around me. By the time I took stock of what was happening we were already losing rather badly. Cecil ran into a wall. I probably should have healed him when all was said and done. The poor man looked concussed.”
- “I believe we may have fared better in the second match. The field turned to layers of dirt filled with ant mounds and tunnels. There were even massive ants for us to ride on. Once again, I found myself distracted, though I was hardly the only one. Wren, an elven druid on the opposing team, also began the game by doting on her ant. We chatted for quite a while. Honestly, talking with her has made me seriously consider taking up druidcraft. Eventually, we both went on to assist our respective teams. Pum, the opposing bard, took on the appearance of an enlarged Cecil for much of the match. Unfortunately, when trying to grab our mascot, she knocked the man right out of his polymorph. I’m no expert, but that probably should have counted as some sort of foul. Despite that, I may have gone a bit far by projecting an image of her violently kicking a ram to the crowd. She forgave me for it, so I suppose there was no harm done. That Igniticus was constantly flying around with what I believe was a modified version of the spell Hellish Rebuke. Rather impressive. While laying explosive glyphs for the other team to stumble into I spotted Cecil crawling around, his mount nowhere in sight. I have no idea what he was doing. I set him up with my mount and he charged into the fray. He has spirit, I’ll give him that much. Despite our efforts, we lost the second game as well. I thought that would be the end of it, but an old gnome lady ran out with five veteran players and challenged the six VIP players to one last, winner takes all match.”
- “Whoever was in charge of the field must have been privy to my nightmares. I can think of no reason for why an eldritch, tentacle-marred landscape spread out before us. I would have collapsed into a heap of not for the others doing their best to keep me grounded. Wren turned into a dire wolf for me to ride on. If the world survives whatever the cult has planned, I hope we become good friends. I remember Igniticus telling me he killed his demons and that I could do the same to mine. The rest of the final game is spotty at best. I was in the air at some point and… the tentacles were flailing? Something must have happened, because I received quite a few strange looks after we won. I worry about what this memory loss might indicate. I worry more about my actions having been broadcast. When I see Ensign again, it may be best to fully disclose my circumstances. If I were a religious man, I’d pray for all of us.”
Session 30: Thymor'ala the Black II/Mothers I

Dragons Encountered: (Thymor'ala the Black)
XP Gained: 1643
Important Things that Happened:
Mother Love, a well-loved alchemist who gathers herbs in the swampy wilderness near the crossroads Apara, requested the help of adventurers with a dangerous task: driving off a dragon. A black dragon had recently made its home in the surrounding swamps, not only making the area far too dangerous to gather herbs in, but also disrupting the natural state of many of the plants through its widespread lair effects. (This second effect was confirmed when Pot'tu'N'Kobb consumed some and had his tongue numbed instead of the expected taste of a healing herb.)
Answering the call, the group of adventurers arrived in Apara and met with Mother Love, who promised very little in the way of rewards, but offered her services as an apothecary and to bake some pies. The party was quickly pointed in the right direction and went off into the swamp.
The swampy terrain and regional effects of the dragon's presence made the trip take longer, but the party arrived at the target cave about an hour before sundown. Despite half the party acknowledging the risks of taking on the dragon in its lair, the party pressed on and entered the cavern. Battle was joined, but the dragon surprisingly seemed as interested in turning the group away and against Mother Love as it was in fighting. Only after it was clear that a fight was inevitable did the dragon fully engage. Tristram utilized a pre-prepared tiny hut spell to provide a safe harbor for the party to recover and stay safe from breath attacks during the combat. The battle was fierce, but the adventurers prevailed without losses (not even familiars and drake companions).
Dur'kalak immediately set to tearing the carcass apart while the majority of the party searched for the dragon's horde. The horde itself was relatively small (having recently been moved) but it also contained a clutch of 3 dragon eggs which Linden Rue, Pum, and Tristram have No Idea that dragons would do such a thing as lay eggs, so they must be illusionary figments. While debating the best approach to handling the nin existant eggs, a wave of energy washed over the group, marking each of them with some kind of magic mark, and granting them all access to a small bit of magical power.
Session 31: Drakkoths IV

Important Things that Happened:
- Cythnia's Log
- In the days since Cynthia aided in the defense of Gammelgard, a countermeasure had been found for Cheshire’s mutated monsters: Drakkoth’s blood. When Cheshire’s monsters were struck with a blade that had been coated in the blood of a Drakkoth (a sort of draconic centaur), they died instantly, with but a single strike. Unfortunately, Seglock University, which was responsible for processing the blood, had recently had its funding cut by Baron Faro, the uptight, elitist baron of Seglock. In addition, Drakkoths were in short supply. Baron Faro held a town hall to discuss the recent budget changes, and several members of the Greedy Green, including Cynthia, were in attendance. The baron went on a tirade against the Greedy Greeners, accusing them of attracting monsters to the city and even of smuggling dragon eggs in through the Moonwell’s shield. The adventurers in attendance objected, pointing to their work defending the city and to the fact that the entire continent was under attack by Horatio Cheshire’s monsters. In particular, Cynthia singled out the recent defense of Gammelgard. The baron seemed generally unconvinced, but begrudgingly agreed to restore the university’s funding. After the adventurers left the town hall, a mysterious figure approached them on the street. He introduced himself as Archie Stewart, a member of the Protectors of the People. The Protectors were an band of mercenaries that operated in the woods outside of Seglock, slaying “dragons” both literal and metaphorical. He told the party that he knew where to find more Drakkoth blood. They agreed to travel to the Protectors’ hideout and meet with their leader, Brenna. The party traveled to the location of the hideout and encountered a pine tree-shaped Ent named Neem. After some conversation, Neem deemed them worthy, and led them to a secret cave. There, Belle, a cleric of Bahamut, greeted them. The walls of the cave were covered in bounties for dragons that had been drawn over to make fun of various societal elites, among them Baron Faro. Belle told the party that the cave once belonged to a gold dragon, but that the Protectors killed it and moved in. She also revealed that the Protectors’ benefactor was a silver dragon named Sro. The Protectors of the People kept track of the Drakkoths’ movements, and revealed to the party that there was a band of Drakkoths preparing to attack the town of Raritan. They also revealed the location of a dragon’s hoard. Several party members had a blessing that would disappear if they attacked a dragon, so the party decided to go after the Drakkoths. The battle was not a terribly hard one, and the party kept two of the Drakkoths alive: one for Seglock University and one for the Protectors of the People. The Protectors also mentioned some sort of prophecy about something sealed away in the mountains. Perhaps they were onto something.
Session 32: Uhlm
Characters: Asheer, Delphi, Elric, Spinel, Eurus, Ona
DM: Kyle (8/17)
Dragons Encountered: "Uhlm"
XP Gained: 2359
Important Things that Happened:
- The team was summoned by a scholar from Deeplake who had been studying an old text, which referred to a dragon that could sway the outcome of the war. He discovered a riddle that he was having trouble with, but deciphered that the first lines referred to Direheart Pond, nearby.
- At the pond, the team solved the riddle, which involved Elric kissing a frog, who turned out to be a satyr called the Curator. The Curator revealed that he planted the riddle and claimed he had a mutual self interest with the adventures. He said he is a curator of a place of "pure evil", the Shadow Forge, which is capable of producing some pretty nasty creatures. He said that Horatio Cheshire has found the forge, and worried that he would create even more Cheshire monsters. The Curator required a fey key to return to the forge and ensure the forges remain shut down. However, he gave the key to a dragon called Uhlm for short (Uhlm doesn't like being referred to by his full name) for safekeeping. The curator opened a portal to a town in the plane called "Thaer".
- Thaer, the adventures learned, is populated by about 15 people that....are weird disturbing replicas created by Uhlm. The plane seemed to end at the small town's borders. Uhlm did indeed have a fey key, but informed the team that 3 keys were needed to access the Shadow Forge...and no other keys exist. But Uhlm could essentially revert time in the plane, sending the team (key in hand) back to the portal to once again find Uhlm (who wouldn't remember anything) and another instance of the key...twice.
- Each time the plane was reverted, however, it started to fight back. Much fighting and yelling ensued, including one moment where Eurus threw a death knight over the edge of the town. The other death knight banished Ona back to Deeplake with one of the keys. Ultimately three keys were obtained. Spinel, and later Ahseer and Delphi, attempted to persuade Uhlm to return to world of mortals and help them in their cause, but he would not be convinced. Uhlm helped usher the adventures to the portal, before the second death knight could cause more damage. The team met up with Ona, and turned over the 3 fey keys to the Curator.
- 8/17: We helped a scholar from Deeplake solve a riddle. Elric kissed a frog, but it was a weird guy called the curator. Said something bad about Horatio maybe going to the Shadow Forge and we needed to prevent that. And we needed a fey key from a dragon called Uhlm. He opened a portal and went to a different plane with people who seemed weird and brainwashed. He said we needed 3 keys to get to the forge, so we did weird time travel stuff to get the same key three times. But the realm kept attacking us and it wasn’t fun. Eurus did throw a death knight off a cliff, and I was impressed. We tried to convince Uhlm to help our cause, but he wouldn’t have it.

Vadath's Log: After months of effort by Vadath and many other adventurers Horatio Chesire had finally been located and cornered. A powerful Fey only known as the Currator summoned many adventures to finally bring Horatios evil to an end. Seven members of The Band of Iron Hawk were present for this raid. Horatio had holed himself up in a micro dimension known as The Shadow Forges. This realm was stuck between our material plane and the plane of shadow. These forges were how Horatio constructed his monstrosities. The Currator told us that four forges were active and that we needed to try and shit down three of them before we could confront Horatio. Hearing this three strike teams were formed. Two teams of six and one of five. Vadath along with Zen, Tristram, Linden, and Delphi took the role of the group of five. Arlin and Percy were each sent with a different group of six making sure each group had at least one guild member in it. The Currator use powerful and strange Fey magics to bolster all the adventurers. Vadaths greatsword became magical and was easier to swing, he felt heartier then ever before, and he felt like a colossus while mounted on Tempest. Vadath and his four companies were sent into their forge and upon entering found a group of Chesire Goblins and a Chesire Orc. They seemed to be arguing and getting ready to leave. Vadath immediately took the charge and rushed in on Tempest and began cutting down the enemies. He chased them down a hallway into a more open room to find even more Chesire Orcs working some strange machinery. To his right were three portals spewing out different things the furthest from him was exoelling boddies into the room. Tristram attempted to hypnotize the orcs but only managed to snare one in his spell. Vadath and the group began fighting not only the orcs but the forge itself. It seemed to him like the forge was defending itself. Before long a strange flesh monstrosity materialized from the center of a magical ring on the far end of the forge. Vadath disengaged the orcs and along with Zen began to fight the hideous beast. As they fought on the beast swallowed Zen whole and the forge began to animate the corpses that were piling up from the portal. Tristram used magic to free Zen from the beast and before it could fall the yet another mound of animated flesh was summoned from the forge. Vadath, Tempest and Zen dealt with the first and engaged the second as they did this the other party members were attack the forge machinery. Two orcs remained as one attempted to wake his friend from Tristrams spell sadly he was successful. The Orc woke up and smashed down a giant red button and from the same part of the forge that summoned the flesh beast came forth a Sentinel like no other. Vadath knew the group was in trouble and left the second flesh beast to Zen. The Sentinel teleported into the middle of the group and began its assault. Vadath and Tempest charged in hoping to draw its attention and were successful. While fighting this metal behemoth Vadath heard Zen getting swallowed again and Tristram yet again came to Zens aid. The Sentinel summoned for lightning blast that arced in between the party striking multiple members at once. As the battles raged Tempest was magically banished from the forge. The group had used most of its resources and still fought on even though the odds were agaisnt them. It was then Tristram deployed a curious strategy he had used before. Tristram summoned what he called his pop corn hut. This was truly a sanctuary. The group ran into this opaque hut for safety. The flesh monster and the Sentinel were not able to penitrate its magic. Linden summoned a swarm of magical bunnies on the machinery and Delphi used her magic to create a cloud of Daggers. This magic destroyed the the forge machinery. The two spell casters then used their abilities to move the magics to hit the remain flesh monster and the Sentinel. The hut held fast as the enemies fell and forge buried the party in over three tons of rubble. The Iron Hawks had stopped the forge and its creations but were now trapped under rubble. The group had no way to escape till they called out to the Currator for aid. With his mysterious power the Currator was able to teleport the adventurers to safety. It wasn't long after that that Arlins group returned from their forge also badly wounded and barely alive. Vadath waited eagerly for his 1st Lieutenant Percy to return with his group. Vadath and Delphi knew the group was in trouble and asked the Currator to send them to the last forge to help. Upon entering into the last forge Vadath and Delphi were greeted with carnage similar to what they had experienced. The party was struggling to survive fighting the forge and a Sentinel of their own. Vadath immediately and without hesitation charged the Sentinel. He attacked it wildly scoring several solid strikes on the colossus. Delphi healed those she could as the rest of the partied rallied what they could and attacked the Sentinel and the forge. Eventually they were successful in shutting down the forge and destroying the Sentinel. The group was teleported back to the Currator where all the adventurers prepped for the coming battle agaisnt Horatio Chesire himself inside the final forge of which he was its master. As preparation began the Currator explained that the last forge would have three areas to it. There would be two areas with portals being held open by other Fey and then the forge of Horatio himself. The group began planning to split into three groups yet again. Tokax a friend of Vadaths posed that the Iron Hawks make up the strike force that would go into Horatios forge. Vadath began to take charge of the situation and explained his plan. Boros ,a warlock with a foul temper, protested in amger amd questioned Vadaths leadership. He also voiced quite loudly that he would not be on a team defending a portal that he was going to be on the strike force. So the teams were divided Vadath, Delphi, Tristram, Linden, Boros, Cynthia and a monk Vadath never met formed the strike force to storm Horatios forge. Upon entering the forge the group was met with three of Horatios greater creations, Teo glaive guardians and a shield master. Behind those three was aassive five headed dragon each head a different color of chromatic dragon. This dragon was the one that broke Hortatio out of prison and seen fleeing Seglock after the attack on the collage. With no hesitation Vadath charged into the middle of the three enemies and began the fight. Boros after speaking so boldly about wanting to be in the fight began stealing Horatios research from the tables in the forge. The monk quick as lighting made his way to Horatio and caught him by surprise landing a few blows. Tristram cast a spell of suggestion over Horatio and told him "Why don't you leave and go get soem rest. We will clean this place up and you can come back later." Surprisingly the spell worked and Horatio began to do as he was told. Evetually Horatio grabbed a strange black object from a table smashed it and disappeared from the firge in a sphere of magicak darkness. With the three Horatio monsters down the five headed beast began to stir and wreak destruction. Vadath heard Boros mention that he was going stealing more research and take a portal and escape beacuse he was afraid to fight the five headed beast. After several swings of Vadaths sword the red head went limp and soon after two more red heads sprung free in its place. It was then the adventurers realized this was not Tiamat herself but some form of hydra like creation made in her image. Several adventurers swapped back and fourth the portal but Vadath stood strong keeping the dragons attention. The white head of the dragon spewed a chilling breathe and in doing so froze Tokax killing her withing seconds of joining the fight. Boros attempted to use the spell message a few times on the dragon in hopes to take it under his control. Vadath questioned Boros' motives but continued to fight on with the help and support of his friends and guildmates. As the forge began to take damage it summoned yet another Shadow Sentinel. Vadath understood the dire straights everyone was in and called for Tristram to set up another one of his valuable shacks. Tristram cast the spell and in doing so locked Vadath from accessing the portal. For the portal mysteriously moved into the impenetrable magic hut. Vadath riding upon Tempest was unable to enter and he refused to leave his mount companion behind. Vadath made peace that this may be his final stand. He continued to fight the Dracohydra as the Shadow Sentinel closed in. As the Sentinel closed the distance Vadath and Tempest skirted the Dracohydra getting close to his companions. Much to his and everyone's surprise the Sentinel attacked the Dracohydra. The Sentinel landed a few solid punches and Vadath joined in swinging furiously his greatsword. The adventurers in the hut attack the forge itself as one of the sections the Fey were keeping upon collapsed killing the Fey and the monk that attacked Horatio. The Sentinel began to charge up and it fired off a chain lighting attack. Vadath recognized this attack and used a magical gift from the Currator and was able to teleport with Tempest to the opposite side of the forge. The Dracohydra fell to the lightning spell and Vadath helped slay another flesh monster that the forge summoned. Before the Sentinel could begin to wreak death and destruction on the adventurers the Currators voice was heard by all and all that he said was "I have him." With that the Currator summoned every adventurer back to his safe area were at his feet laid the dead body of Horatio. The Currator explained when he figured out Horatio left his forge he began to search for him and was eventually successful. The Currator stated he was thankful the adventurers were successful in shutting down the forges and keeping Horatios vile research locked in that micro plane. Vadath heard this and turned to Boros stating loudly that he needed to disclose to the Currator what he had stolen from Horatio. Boros recoiled in protest and refused. As the Currator expressed his thanks Vadath grabbed the body of Horatio and fed it to Tempest. He found some justice in fulfilling his words to Fulgrim that he would see Horatio devoured by his own creation. The Currator would go on to grant a boon to each adventurer. Delphi and Vadath began to talk and realized they both had a connection to a red dragon. They asked the Currator the whereabouts of this beast so that they could take their revenge. The red dragon that decimated the Band of the Hawk and killed Vadaths adoptive parents was the same as the one that destroyed Delphis hometown. They plan to seek it out with fellow Iron Hawk members and finally bring an end to its life. Due to Boros' actions in battle and theft of some of Horatios research Vadath has a strong mistrust of Boros.
Cynthia's Log
It was finally time to take down the mad alchemist Horatio Cheshire. A fey being called the Curator summoned many of the Greedy Greeners to brief the mon the situation. Apparently, Cheshire had traveled to the Shadow Forges, a small plane sandwiched between the material plane and the Shadowfell. He hoped to use the arcane machinery housed there to produce more and better monstrosities.
Once, the Fey attempted to destroy the Shadow Forges, but were unable to do so. Instead, they sealed the plane away with a number of keys. Somehow, Cheshire acquired one of these keys and used it to bring himself and many of his monstrosities to the forges. By this point, three of the four forges were active; if he managed to activate the fourth one before the Greedy Greeners could stop him, he would be able to harness the full power of the forges and launch an unimaginable assault on the material plane.
The adventurers divided themselves into three strike teams, each with a healer, and ventured into the three activated forges. They were warned that the forges would attempt to defend themselves with monstrous constructs. Each team entered one of the already-activated forges. Resistance was initially quite weak; the adventurers easily dispatched the orcs and goblins that Cheshire had stationed at each forge. Once the forges began to fight back, however, the battle grew far tougher. Each forge summoned two fearsome enemies: a giant mound of writhing flesh and a shadowy sentinel in thick armor. The group that Cynthia was in had extra trouble with the sentinel; its armor resisted nonmagical attacks, making many of their weapons almost useless against it. Eventually, though, with the help of Vadath and Delphi teleporting in from another forge, the adventurers prevailed and moved on to phase two of the plan.
For the assault on the central forge, the adventurers would once again divide into three teams. One of the teams would venture into the heart of the forge to battle Cheshire and the worst of his monstrosities. Meanwhile, the other two teams would defend fey who were holding open portals leading into the central forge. Cynthia was chosen to be on the first team, and she headed into the belly of the beast alongside Vadath, Tristram, Linden, and Boros.
Inside the forge, the strike team was met with Horatio Cheshire himself and the Tiamat lookalike that Cynthia had seen all the way back during her defense of Gammelgard. By now, the adventurers could deduce that this was but one more of Cheshire’s creations: a dracohydra. As the team did battle with Cheshire and his pet, this forge too spawned the same pair of monsters to defend itself. Cynthia held off the flesh monstrosity while the rest of the team dealt with the dracohydra. Partway through the battle, one of the team cast a sort of mind-control spell on Cheshire, suggesting that he leave in peace. Cheshire grabbed an artifact off of one of the research tables in the room and teleported away to parts unknown.
Once the second of the forge’s monstrosities, the shadowy armored sentinel, appeared, the battle seemed to be unwinnable. By that point, the party had been backed into a magical dome in the corner of the room. Surprisingly, though, the sentinel chose to attack the dracohydra, not the adventurers. With the tides turned, the team was able to kill the dracohydra and destroy the forge itself. All of the adventurers were teleported back to the Curator’s cottage, where he revealed to them that he captured Cheshire while the alchemist was still in a magically-induced docile state. He threw Cheshire’s now-dead body onto the ground, and Vadath fed it to his newly-tamed Fang Mount.
After the battle, Vadath and Delphi approached Cynthia and offered her a position in the Iron Hawks. She gladly accepted, having seen the company’s bravery in several battles. Finally, she was no longer Cynthia sen Espera. Now, she was Cynthia, Shield of the Eyrie.

The session begins inside The Melted Muse, a well regarded fondue establishment in the town of Launda. There a group of travelers are being hailed as heroes for warding off the attack of a blue dragon. As a reward for their actions they are given their selection of cheeses to sample including a form of imported cheddar. Almost as soon as the last one of them selects their meal an explosion ruptures the side wall of the establishment sending melted cheese flying into the Melted Muse. At the source of this explosion is a furious looking red dragon who has landed where the large pot of melted cheese had been sending its contents pouring into the nearby restaurant and injuring two of the adventurers.
Some of the inhabitants of the restaurant attempt to escape the crumbling building while simultaneously trying to rescue the unconscious townsfolk nearby. Meanwhile the remaining adventures still inside the Melted Muse distract the dragon with a flurry of magical attacks and a javelin skewered with cheese, which unfortunately failed to blind or even hit the dragon as it was intended. In a rage, the dragon breathed a fiery breath into the tavern hitting two of the adventurers and knocking one of them unconscious (the rather fragile Wizard Naxxradormu). The red dragon then moved on to rampage through the rest of Launda, deciding to ignore an obvious tension between them and the Dragonborn Barbarian Rex.
The adventurers evacuate to a nearby airship which had appeared during the fight to rest and acquit themselves with the gnome artificer who helmed it. The artificer, named Lorita, came to thank the party for their intervention in saving her hometown and then proceeded to plead with them for aid in stopping what she thought was an even greater threat. Nearby there was a structure called the Spyre located in the direction the red dragon they had encountered came from. This potentially meant the structure was damaged and that its function, to keep the emanations from the Shadowfell sealed, could be compromised. The party agreed to investigate after they inquired further (intimidation check) about the nature of the Spyre that Lortia had kept hidden.
They arrived at the Spyre to find it engulfed in shadowy energy. They attempted to latch onto the Spyre so that they could access the top, a peak some 60 feet up, and potentially gain entry to the structure. Upon doing this a burst of lightning stuck the tower severing the rope and sending one of the party members (again the very fragile Naxxradormu) falling from the ship. Thanks to the quick thinking of the Dragonborn Artificer Clank, equipped with a “canon of levitation” , Naxxradormu's fall was interrupted and he was able to ascend to the ship safely. During this time the dark energies which saturated the ground formed into several dark gelatinous creatures which the party attempted to fight to mixed results. The party decided to leave the threats outside the tower be for now and resumed their investigation of the Spyre. The party made quick work of devising an entry plan (it was quick in game, irl it took very long) involving elevating the airship using Kaba’s gust spell, 50 feet of rope, and a pair of immovable rods loaned to members of the party by Lorita. The plan worked well enough allowing the party to enter the tower while also setting off the lightning deterrent several more times including one that fried the rope they used to lower themselves into the tower which injured several party members (the immovable rods were retrieved by the flying Naxxradormu).
Inside the tower they discovered a room with a large moon pool filled with inexplicable moon light. They investigated a pair of levers located on opposite walls, one which acted like a dial shifting between several positions and another a traditional on and off style switch. Before long they discovered a set of mirrors placed in the four corners of the room and shifted them to focus the moonlight into the moon pool. This caused a door filled with black ichor, which had previously fascinated members of the party and even caused one to take psychic damage from interacting with it, to dissolve. Through experimentation the party discovered the mechanism to be a way of opening portal-like connections to various rooms inside the tower, the dial shifting which room was accessible and the switch changing whether the portal was open.
They investigated each room which involved a battle (more like an ambush on the parties part) with shadow tainted zombies, an encounter with more shadowy oozes (of note lightning and slashing damage caused them to split), non-trapped chest with a trapped wand of magic missile, and a corpse baring the symbol of the Wold Order. After thoroughly exploring the smaller rooms of the tower they moved onto the last, larger room. In it they discovered the remains of “Lord Believer” (as nicknamed by one of the party members) who had transformed himself into an immensely powerful, shadowy being.
He attempted to deceive the party into joining him but was foiled by the successful intuition of Rex (thanks to the temporal intervention of Naxxradormu) and then revealed he manipulated the dragon into attacking Spyre. The two wizards of the party attempted to coordinate a simultaneous incendiary attack on Lord Believer but were foiled by his ability to possess one of them. The possessed adventure then attempted to use that same attack on the party but was foiled by the remaining Wizard’s counterspell. Lord Believer, in possession of Kaba’s body, fled the immediate confines of the moon pool room but was chased by Rex resulting in what can only be referred to as “Tortle Golf” as he was knocked back into the moon pool and then restrained by Rakim Greyshot’s ensnaring arrows.
Meanwhile Clank and Orifyire, the Dragonborn Fighter, aided by Naxxradormu's Vortex Warp spell, discovered and subsequently placed two red gems into pedestals from which they had been displaced, likely by the earlier dragon attack. Their placement created a wall of force which separated the chamber from the moon pool and would have acted as a seal for Lord Believer if he had not been knocked back into the moon pool during “Tortle Golf.” Kaba was subsequently incapacitated releasing Lord Believer into the moon pool and he nearly cut off the portal to the chamber the rest of the party was trapped in and escaped but was apprehended by Naxxradormu's Vortex Warp spell (he failed a DC 16 check with a 15) trapping him in the chamber substantially weakened but still far from harmless.
The party members now trapped in the chamber orchestrated a plan to relieve the wall of force temporarily to allow all but one party member escape who would then reengage the seal. Clank was all but prepared to sacrifice himself as the remaining party members escaped but just as the seal was reformed Naxxradormu used his final casting of Vortex Warp to transport Clank into the moon pool and sealing Lord Believer in his tomb once again. The members of the party then re-emerged from the Spyre and met up with Lorita who informed them their several hours of exploration, rest, and combat had appeared to occur in only a couple minutes.
As a reward for their deeds Lortia bestowed upon them the choice for either 400 GP or the magical item which she had loaned them. Several of the party members kept the magical items including two lucky stones, the pair of immovable rods, and a lightning javelin. Naxxradormu on the other hand had taken the 400 GP but attempted to exchange it for information on a mysterious Launda Artificer. Thus this adventure concludes but not our tales of the Greedy Green.

Vadath's Log: Vadath had received a summons, along with other adventurers, from the Protectors of the People to meet them at their main hideout. The cart ride from Seglock took a few hours. Vadath chose to ride Tempest along side the cart. Along the trip he amd Markoth spoke briefly and Vadaty learned that Markoth joined the Protectors of the People out of mistrust for them. Upon getting close to the hideout the group was met by a living tree. The tree look at all of them then paused on Vadath and stated somthing like it was unsure of Vadath. In the end the group entered the hidden hideout behind a waterfall. They were met by Brenna the groups leader. She informed them she had a job for them to undertake of some importance. Though the group saw the postings and rewards for dragons they dilliberated for a little ultimately deciding to take Brennad job. The job was to either find Echamus or find information on his whereabouts. Vadatghhad met with Echamus previously so he was able to offer some help to the party as to whom they were looking for. Archie ,Brennas second in command, gave them some directions as to where he might be found. The group followed a river with little trouble. Though one of the party members was stuck by a magical fear. Some entered the river and felt a magical calm sweep over them. Vadath brought his companion to the river in an attempt to calm him and it did work. Eventually everyone ended up in the river aside from Vadath and Markoth. Both of them saw however one of their party members get sucked into a hidden current beneath a dock. Vadath jumped on after her and was soon followed by the rest of the group. The river deposited them to one of its banks where the party all heard a voice in their heads. The voice warned them to leave for they were not welcome. After some dialog they voice said it would test them. The group followed the tunnel that was by the river bank and it wasnt long before the party was set upon by a few giant spiders. The group delt with them swiftly with minimal effort. They continued on continuing to talk to the voice trying to find it. Vadath spoke up about trying to find Echamus and defeating 'The One Who Waits." Passage began to open as the adventurers had conversations with the disembodied voice. Markoth challenged and goaded the being and suffered grievously for it nearly being killed. The voice spoke of that to find them the party must be in balance. So Omen grabbed Vadaths hand and Markoth took Drang by the hand. Seemingly to balance out the karma. Eventually the group was led to a dragons hoard. This hoard had a large cyrstal egg in the center surrounded by giant glowing sapphires. A few in the group had already encountered this disembodied dragon and knew it to be somewhat friendly. To group spoke to the dragon known as Bleucorundum. Bleucorundum mentioned that she was looking for one below and one above. Always being cryptic and that we should tell Brenna that the Saphirre is looking for the Amethyst. Bleucorundum offered little answers only more questions. Bleucorundum seemed to be looking for Eros and Echamus as well yet not knowing where exactly they were. Bleucorundum also spoke to Vadath saying he had a darkness in his blood that be dealt with. Vadath tried to get more answers but was met with silence. Bleucorundum offered items from her hoard to help the adventurers though should these items be used to harm dragonkind they would disappear. Vadath wasn't planning on taking anything till he saw a symbol the his friend Ensign carved onto everything. Vadath chose to take that item and give it to Ensign even though shiuld Vadath attacked a dragonkin it would disappear. Few real questions were truly answered save one. The group was given a phrase by the PotP that they got from a Lunarn. The phrase translated to roughly "Help Eros and he will help you." At least that's what Vadath remembers. He was lost in thought on what this darkness inside him might be. Bleucorundum then Gabe the Drang one of the giant glowing sapphires and said to give it to Brenna. Upon returning the group did so and relayed what info they had.

As they all gathered, the adventurer's heard the roar of a dragon as Flame flew across the forest and began his raid on Muso. At this time another adventurer came to Muso, a cleric by the name of Reylendor Aspenmorrow who saw the dragon as it approached Muso and came to help.
During the fight adventurers were approached by the Arbiter of Death, Silent, some of whom sold their souls to Silent for power. During the fight Flame utilized strange spellcasting and the adventurers came to the belief that Flame had sold his soul to Silent as well.
after burning through the dragon's Death Ward the dragon was finally felled by an arrow show by Oxan Lightkeeper. After the dragon was slain the adventurers cast Speak with Dead on the dragon corpse and successfully harvested a number of resources from the body.

Cynthia's Log
A kidnapping! Belle, the paladin of the Protectors of the People, told several of the Greedy Greeners that the mayor of Synara had gone missing, and she suspected that the silver dragon Sro was the one who did it. Sro apparently had a penchant for capturing government officials, believing that the cities and towns of Isonhound would be better off without them. The party traveled with Belle to Sro’s mountaintop lair, trudging up a long, winding path. Cynthia and Arlin, in particular, wore themselves out lugging their heavy armor and equipment up the mountain.
The party reached the compound and entered a cavern where they met an old man sitting alone at a table. This was Sro, shapeshifted into human form. Sro explained that he had not kidnapped the mayor at all, but had instead invited him as a ploy to lead the adventurers to his compound. Sro had important information to impart.
He told the party that Isonhound was on a path toward destruction. Long ago, Sardior, a great ruby dragon, was splintered into five gem greatwyrms. Being of largely neutral disposition, these greatwyrms generally kept themselves secluded from the rest of the world. Now, however, there were rumors that the greatwyrms were beginning to converge again. Sro feared that unleashing the power of Sardior would spell an end for Isonhound. He told the party what little he knew of the gem dragons’ whereabouts. The sapphire dragon was hidden underground; the emerald dragon, known as a troublemaker, had gone missing; the crystal dragon was on the moon; the amethyst dragon, the most powerful of the bunch, was hidden among mortals; and the topaz dragon’s whereabouts were unknown.
Before sharing more, Sro felt that he should test the adventurers’ mettle. He transformed Belle into a fearsome cave dragon and tasked the party with fighting her. They had no wish to harm Belle, however, and so Cynthia distracted her while Arlin dispelled the shape-changing spell that she was under. Impressed by their cleverness, Sro continued.
He told the party that the information about Sardior was gathered by a gold dragon named Bazzniagalvinica. This dragon was protecting a golden egg, and the party pieced together that it was actually Brenna, the leader of the Protectors of the People. This explained how the group got their hideout: they did not kill a gold dragon, but rather allied with one. Sro also presented each the party with Tears of Sardior, ancient crystals that held some of the last vestiges of Sardior’s power. These crystals could hold the blessing of a gem dragon and grant their wielder magical powers; supposedly, a mortal tribesman named Zaatu was able to teleport using one of them. Cynthia accepted one of the Tears.
After presenting the Tears, Sro sent the party on their way. He encouraged them to spread word of Sardior’s potential return to the rest of the Greedy Green and ensured them that he would allow the mayor of Synara to return. The party left, burdened by the information they had just acquired.

Dragons Encountered: Gideon, Thymor'ala the Black(Mentioned)
XP Gained: 2,250 XP Each
Important Things that Happened: Following the recent attack on the Protectors of the People's secret headquarters supplies was being moved up and down the Greedy Green. Elric, Hugo Clarion, Asger Snærr, Amund Zen, and Drang all found themselves at a waystation which served as a center point for the transportation of these supplies, either participating in the transport themselves or journeying out to investigate reports of strange monstrous moths and the disappearance of a young man by the name of Gregory. While all were gathered in the waystation a strange individual made their way inside, a man wearing bright cloths with a loud personality by the name of Gideon. This strange individual claimed to have a lead on to the location of Gregory but in return had a request for any adventures who took him up on his offer. He requested the return of his eggs, the eggs of the recently slain Thymor'ala the Black who he claimed to be the father to. It was in his knowledge that the three eggs were in the possession of the Protectors of the People and he wanted them returned to him. Drang shook hands with Gideon and promised to find and return his eggs.
With a loud laugh Gideon walked out of the waystation and began to lead the adventurers into the forest where he said he had a contact for them. In fact he had two. One was a woman from Gregory's home town who said Gregory and a group of ruffians return ed to his house only to be caught by the townsfolk who were unable to then stop the boy's escape. The other was a green scaled Kobold wearing a dark cloak named Kihlek Vaess who had been researching the strange occurrences. The adventurers then followed Gideon deeper into the forest with Kihlek scouting ahead. They eventually came across a clearing with a small campsite. In the center of the clearing was a group of individuals chanting around a strange circle flanked by two Stone Giants. Their incantations were in strange tongue and the only real words that the party could identify was the name, "Shadow Lord." With haste the party moved into stop the ritual as the ground beneath the arcane circle began to crack open into a massive dark chasm. The giants were made quick work of but Drang saw to his horror when he slew one of the strange cultist that it was a boy in his late teenage ears who suddenly had their body pulled into the chasm by a massive and strange dark ethereal hand.
As the battle continued the chasm continued to grow in size, quickly outgrowing the magic circle and each time a cultist or giant died a shadowy hand came up to claim them. Gregory and another cultist attempted to use invisibility magic to escape but each were identified when Kihlek cast See Invisibility. Amund Zen and Hugo Clarion were almost claimed by the chasm as a dark Death Giant rose from the chasm, floating in the air. Gregory attempted to flee once again but was shot down by Hugo Clarion. Asger Snærr attempted to heal the party as the Death Giant advanced, firing bolts of necrotic energy. Elric encouraged Gideon to draw the giant onto solid ground which Gideon achieved by utilizing strange compulsory magic. Upon approaching Gideon the Death Giant was quickly obliterated by Drang, Amund Zen, and Elric.
Asger Snærr managed to stabilize Gregory who was taken away for questioning. The party also discovered a number of materials in the small camp along with some notes from Mother L, Mother J, and Mother P.

Important Things that Happened:
Yosser Squigglesong, a curious little gnome, gathered the adventurers at a small camp I n the forests near Sneerwell. He claimed to be an archeologist and hired the party to accompany him on a task to navigate a tomb and retrieve its hidden priceless artifacts, for which he promised a hefty reward for their troubles. Once the group set out following Yosser, he continually reached into his pocket to retrieve and examine a small, ordinary looking pearl. Each time he would place the pearl back and mutter, “not yet…”
The small group consisted of: Clank, a dragonborn artillest artificer. Rakim, an Elfen ranger. Orifyire, a Dragonborn fighter. Airavata a Loxo barbarian. Asger, the Goliath Peace Cleric. Joined also by Nockdus, a Daphmir rouge. Yossef continued leading the group further along on a seemingly aimless path. However, soon the party began to pass through a heavy, resting mist that persisted even at midday. The mist chilled the skin and reached about knee high on most of the group but nearly entirely covered the gnome. They followed behind the little fellows' conveniently tall hat as it bobbed along on a determined path. Yosser continued to pull out his pearl and now in the mist it began to emit a warm glow, which only grew stronger as they continued to move through it. Once they reached the tomb, the pearl grew to its brightest and Yosser exclaimed, “Yes, yes! This is the spot!”
Upon entering the tomb, a series of plates adorned with ancient runes etched into their surface stretched down the hall leading to a single door. Asger, with his deep knowledge of history and religion, knew the runes to be representative of an ancient water god. The group was hesitant at first but eventually, led by the brave Ariavata, successfully navigated the traps and plates. The following several rooms each contained an elemental wall: the first was a geothermal vent emitting steam, the second, a wall of ice created on a chilled metal sheet, and the third a wall of rain fell from the ceiling. Each of the rooms' walls were also painted with various murals depicting cycles of life and death and growth and destruction, a common theme throughout the tomb. Along the way, various corpses were discovered with increasingly worse injuries and causes of death. Upon examining the last body, which was covered in severe burns and deep gashes from what appeared to be a large creature's claws. The group prepared themselves as they knew that what lay ahead was no empty tomb.
Deciding that surprise was the best tactical option, the group burst through the last large set of doors. In the center of the room laid an elevated altar, stalactites grew from the ceiling and continually dripped water down upon the altar. The water was collected by two golden horns which fed into a small pool surrounding the altar. Resting in the pool beside the altar was a large golden dragon's egg rocking and twitching as it was very near to hatching. The room wasn’t exceptionally large, but the ceiling stretched upwards forever into darkness.
Yossef rushed forward and started screaming, “Where are you, you bitch! Show yourself!” Soon his screams were answered by the unsettling sound of echoes of hundreds of feet scuttling down the wall. An enormous, green monster came into view before it slowly began to shift and change into a woman’s figure. Brenna Tanawen stood on the opposite end of the room, completely naked and without weapons or armor.
Peaceful conversation started as Asger attempted to charm Brenna into a calm state. Yossef and Brenna exchanged words, his being heated and full of anger while Brenna seemed aloof and uncaring. Soon the group learned the truth of Yossef’s mission; he had come for revenge. His village and people had been victims of Brennas attack, she called it a culling, saying “the weak needed to be removed to allow for the strong to persist.” The attempts at resolving this encounter without violence soon came to an end as Yossef lunged towards her and called a lighting bolt down on Brenna.
Prepared for combat, the group rushed forward to engage Brenna. No longer taking the shape of a human, she once again changed, however this time an enormous golden dragon towered over the group. Ariavata rushed to the center of the room, standing on top of the altar in an intense rage. The rest of the members spread out along the outer walls as they laid into the dragon with swords and arrows.
Throughout the intense fight, Bazzniagalvinica, the Golden Dragon, was able to look forward in time and foresee moments of the fight as well as banish individuals from her presence into a dream-like plane. Yossef returned from one of these instances of banishment and appeared directly in front of the dragon. Without a moment's notice, Bazzniagalvinica tore into the gnome, eviscerating him with her claws and teeth. Several members fell gravely injured from the dragon's powerful fire breath, but were recovered by Nockdus’ rapid movement as he moved them to safety.
Ariavata planted herself upon the altar, where she was the main target of Bazzniagalvinica’s attacks but prevented the dragon from ever escaping the blows of her hammer. Asger attempted to provide her with as much protective and healing magic as he could. Nockdus and Rakim continually reigned arrows at the dragon, while Orifyre slashed at her legs wielding swords in both hands. Clank, with his powerful cannon, burned through the dragon’s resistances.
As the end of the battle approached, the huge dragon bloodied and beaten, turned to conversation once more. Turning to Ariavata, looking deep into her eyes, begging in desperation, “don’t let them take my baby!” As these last words escaped her, a bolt from Clank's bow pierced her skull and she fell dead upon the altar.
As the exhausted group recovered, Clank moved towards the dragon egg intending to investigate it further. As soon as he approached, time slowed then stopped and the egg disappeared but soon reappeared in a formerly empty corner of the room. Five warforged Disciples of Sardior appeared alongside the egg. They explained their task of attempting to revive Tushallo, the Topaz Dragon and that with this golden dragon egg that could be possible. Further warnings were issued regarding the imminent danger of the One Who Waits, the Obsidian Dragon, and the three unaccounted for dragon eggs. Although the warnings were vague, they were issued as dire and requiring hasty action. Rewarding the group with valuable gems for their cooperation, they left as quickly as they appeared. However, before their departure, they left a sending stone with Airavata which the disciples could be contacted by. Allowing them to quickly return to secure the black dragon eggs should they be found.

Vadath's Log:
Vadath takes another job for Falgrim and the Order of the watchful eye. Upon meeting Falgrim who was attending a parry at a bar with someone names Gideon he met up with several other adventurers. The party was informed that Mother Love had been tracked down and that there was a new bakery in town that was a cover for her lair. Vadath and the group take the quest. There was not much of a plan so the adventurers stormed the bakery. Vadath and the Bugbear Drang kicked in a few doors as those inside began to panic a little. Vadath ran to the front room and fired his pistol into the cielong of the bakery trying to get everyone down on the ground and to remain calm. While this happened Tristram went into a back bedroom and notified the group that Mother love was here and using concealing magics. Drang stumbled upon a hidden door and fell a few feet below to a sewar grate. Standing in front of the grate was mother love herself. After a few short more chaotic moments the rest of the group caught up and Mother Love offered them Fey Hospitality upon entering her space. The group accepted and entered the room was full of dragon eggs and in the center of the room was Mother Love seated at a table full of pies. Mother Love and the group tried negotiations to get the eggs. A lot if words were spun around and Vadath quickly lost his temper and assaulted Mother Love a known hag. Once he attacked her she seemed to teleport away and what stood in her place was a shadow version of himself. Vadath engaged his shadow clone as some of the eggs around the room came to life and became spider like creatures. While this was happening Tristram who was quite angry with Mother Love began weaving spells. He attempted to polymorph Mother Love and Vadath glared the hag down and it caused her ti fail. Tristram had turned the hag into a tortoise and was able to shove her in a tortoise shaped vase filled with water and drowned her. The remaining eggs turned into spiders and scampered off into the sewers. In the back of the room the group found a book written in primordial.
Each party member received an ornate invitation requesting their presence in Gammelgard, delivered by a carriage that was prepared to chauffeur them right away. Vadath was required to leave his mount, Tempest, at a stable outside the city, but the party soon found themselves at a tavern in the city called the Drunken Dog. Much merriment was already in progress at the tavern, and they were warmly greeted by a dwarf named Falgrim and a handsome man named Gideon. The pair debriefed the party about a bakery whose pies had been turning some of the city's residents fanatical. Suspecting Mother Love to be behind this, they requested the party to investigate.
Upon arrival at the bakery, they found the front archways to be packed with patrons despite the shop being an hour from closing. The party tried testing a back door instead, but found it to be locked. Vadath decided to smash the door down, accidentally knocking down one of the kitchen staff members in the process. The staff retreated to the front of the shop, shouting about thieves who had just broken in. Vadath cleared the shop by shooting a gun towards the ceiling and shouting they were there on behalf of the Order of the Watchful Eye. Drang and Tristam quickly followed behind to investigate more of the shop, where Drang busted through a false wall concealing a shaft which led to an underground sewer. Meanwhile, city guards descended upon the rest of the party waiting outside. Oxan instructed his donkey, Rabbit, to kick anybody who attempted to enter the shop, but the donkey decided to nap instead. Delphi readied an attack in case Mother Love suddenly appeared. Durian was last to follow into the shop, stalling the city guard by pretending to be an innocent bystander before turning invisible mid-interrogation and sneaking past the guards.
The party joined Drang in the sewer, who had been conversing with three apparitions of Mother Love. Offering hospitality, she beckoned the party into her underground lair. Unfamiliar with the laws of fey hospitality, Drang accepted her invitation and the rest of the party followed close behind. Inside, they found an impressive sprawl of food as well as piles of what appeared to be dragon eggs. Most of the party joined Mother Love at a central table, sitting down with her to negotiate. Durian, maintaining invisibility, investigated a book at the back of the lair which was written in a language far too ancient for him to understand. Drang gifted Mother Love a jar of pickled pumpkins, which she enthusiastically accepted.
Vadath was insistent that the dragon eggs leave with them, but Mother Love found the party's offers of dragon teeth to be unsatisfactory and negotiations quickly broke down. Vadath attempted to strike the hag, but was forced to battle a shadow version of himself. Any person who attacked Mother Love received a curse for breaking fey hospitality, and a shadow version of themselves manifested and began attacking them. Tristam cleverly ended the battle by polymorphing Mother Love into a tortoise and drowning her in a conveniently tortoise-shaped ceramic jar with a waterproof lid, from which her body strangely evaporated in a shadowy smog. Upon the hag's defeat, the "dragon eggs" sprouted legs and retreated deeper into the sewer.
Upon further investigation, the book was revealed to be written in Primordial and the Hawks took it into their possession with hopes of translating more of it later. The party also acquired a substantial collection of dinnerware, opting to travel to Synàra in search of a more lucrative buyer. After ascending from the sewer, the city guard commanded the party to leave the scene as they had "done enough." They later found out that the city guard forbade anyone from going back down into those sewers.

While Mothers Love, Peace, and Joy were known to be out and about, Gideon implored the party to go to the hags' lair, a swamp between Seglock and Gammelgard, to investigate why children who ate the hag's candy were comatose. Revealing himself in true copper dragon form, Gideon gave the adventures a ride—via a log raft lashed to himself—to the swamp. Well-decayed bodies of adults (including Daniel the school teacher, who identified himself during a Speak with Dead spell) filled the water. Wisp-like lights filled the area, which on closer inspection looked quite childlike... Harold and Kihlek each put 4 of the wisps into their bags of holding. But the guardian of the Hag's lair, a Pumpkin Beholder with a black flame within attacked the party, summoning putrid undead and confusing adventurers into thinking they were animals with beams from its many pumpkin sprouts. In the end the beast was ultimately destroyed. On its return to the earth, the black flame went out and the wisp lights faded and seemed to move away from the swamp, which the adventures took to mean that the souls or essence of the comatose children had returned to their bodies. The wisps in the bags of holding, however, remained bright, even when returned to the swamp.
10/20: Apparently hags have been wreaking havoc in Isonhound. They all left their home at the same time, so we went to their swamp to see what’s going on. A big pumpkin beast came out and also zombies that belched leaches. But I bit the leaches on me and Reylendor turned dead nicely, so we took care of everything. There were also lights floating around everywhere. Hugo and Kihlek took some of the lights. When we killed the pumpkin beast, the lights all went away, and I think they revived the comatose children. I helped Kihlek figure out how to put the souls in their bag back into other kids (downtime). I got some cool bracers.

Vadath's Log: During the fight for the shadow forge the Ucrratpr offered each of the adventurers a reward. Both Vadath and Delphi asked for information of the dragon known as the Dread Flame. The dragon responsible for the destruction of Delphis hometown and of Vadaths mother and father. After several months one morning the Currator was found lounging in the main hall of the Iron Eyrie. He told them that The Dread Flame left Isonhound for Kiston when Tiamat called yo gather her forces. He also messed with a compass that would point to her and told them how they could find travel to the Isle of Kiston. Just a little south of Horatios lab that was stormed a large barn was found with some dwarves sitting out front of it. After some negotiations and some tense conversations the Hawks found out that this barn is a cover for the Pendergras Company. The Pendergras Company has been developing ways to travel to Kiston and supply those on the front lines of the dragon war. The group was able to secure passage sp long as they provided security for the airship. Once they got close to Kiston they saw some strange flying monsters. Tristram was able to speak with them and they said that things below where in chaos. Shortly after this conversation an ancient black dragon rose above the clouds with many draconians at his side. The Hawks engaged the dragon the best they could in the air and eventually am ancient silver dragon, a young brass, and a young copper dragon came swooping in tackling the black and whipping out the draconians. The young brass polymorphed into a human and landed on the airship. Vadath without hesitation asked to be flown down to aid the silver dragon in fighting. The dragon seemed very surprised and instead of flying them down the airship was able to land. Upon landing the Hawks where met with absolute chaos. The encampment they were supposed to transport supplies to was in smoking ruins. The silver and Black Dragon were locked in combat and Vadath rushed to join in. During the fight on the group a young red joined the fight. The copper and brass kept the reds attention as some of the party was saving the survivors that were trapped in a collapsed building. The red dragon is slain and Vadath lands a few blows on the black. Dancer of the Borreal Valley cast a spell keeping the black on the ground and kno king it prone. The silver took to the air and locked eyes with Vadath. Vadath nodded to him and the silver unleashed his breath weapon killing the black and Vadath withstood the blast of energy. The party and the survivors board the airship as the dragons rip the heads off the res and the black. The three metallic dragons board the airship and reveal the name of the Dread Flame to be Kennandra and that the young red that was just killed is her son Karrundax. The silver dragon asked to be called Silas. Though Vadath and Delphi did not get their vengeance The Iron Hawks were able to strike a blow to both Kennandra and Tiamat. Silas I formed them that by keeping Karrundaxs head would invoke Kennandras rage and cause her to hunt them down. The Hawks brought two more dragon heads to add to their collection in the Eyrie.

After some negotiations the group was able to get into the mine saying they were offering their services for security. The mine was full of workers and nothing seemed to be amiss. Vadath took to the back room to which was empty. As he stood there looking around a shadow purple portal opened up and four wraiths entered the mine. Vadath engaged them in close combat but three of them seemed to ignore him and go for the workers. After a hard fought battle only one miner was lost and the group was successful in saving the rest. The foreman decided to cave in the mine to shut down the portal. The group was able to negotiate some time before the collapse to inspect the the portal. The party arrived in Gammelgard because they were hired to help transport something from Gammelgard to Sneerwell. The person told us that he has sent out two other parties before us but every time they would be knocked out and wake up later to there cargo being gone. No memory of what exactly happened. After learning about this we set off onto Sneerwell, it did take quite long though because the issue of payment came up quite often. While on the road to Sneer well Tristam spotted a statue like figure on the road and decided to investigate. The structure ended up bopping Tristam on the end. With this the other four structures appeared out of thin are on the road as well. They had no mouths and no eyes all that was there were deep dark sockets. Eerie. As soon as they appeared they went directly towards whoever was closest to them. The team fought hard to try and that down the structures, two people did get knocked out during the battle. Not killed though because it was all no-lethal damage. Even so one was taken down by Tristam. Once this one was taken down though the structures changed there focus into taking a cart and fleeing. During that two more were taken out, the other two began to take the cart away. The team tried to stop the cart from being taken away. Thankfully Tristam in his dinosaur form was able to crush the cart and prevented the two structures to take it away. The team ended up making it too Sneerwell with all the cargo.

Each member of the party received an invitation to Synàra in order to meet with representatives from the Wold Order at their base. Upon arrival, they were all separated into separate rooms and interrogated on individual topics of interest to the Wold Order (for example, Durian was questioned about how he was able to remain invisible to dragons). Afterwards, they were all joined into a large meeting room where they were debriefed on the mission that the Wold Order had selected them for. They explained that supply chains of Wovenstone were being disrupted by strange Warforged-Centaur creatures of unknown origin, one of which they had traced back to the Northern Snowy Mountains. The party agreed to investigate this lead, so they set out and discovered a mine leading into the Northern Snowy Mountains. They entered the mine and the party was quickly separated by a rockfall. Having been forcibly split up, they were forced to venture deeper into the mine down separate tunnels. One path led to a hole with a shadow rift at the bottom, so they chose to go in a different direction. Along the way, they ran into a series of metal doors and levers, soon catching on that pulling a lever in one tunnel would open one of the doors in the opposite tunnel. After some hijinks which included jumping through a rapidly opening and closing door, the party solved this puzzle and were reunited on the other end. One of the metal doors toward the end of the tunnel appeared guarded by two metallic creatures, but nothing the party did seemed to activate them. The tunnels terminated at one final, large metal door with a slot in it which dispensed a questionnaire. The group answered the questions to the best of their abilities and, upon submitting the paper, they were deemed worthy of entry and the door opened. They were greeted by a large laboratory inhabited by several gem-colored Warforged who introduced themselves as the Most Sanctified Disciples of Sardior. One side of the headquarters contained docking stations which housed resting Warforged-Centaurs. Opposite that was an under construction spacefaring vessel. More interesting still was a gold Dragon egg sitting on a pedestal. Additionally, the headquarters was lined with ancient-looking tapestries, some of which depicted four dragons. The Warforged answered the party's questions, explaining their plan to resurrect the deceased Topaz dragon from the court of Sardior in order to fulfill a prophecy which came to them from space via a metal construct they called Zodar, "Court is Called. The Five Complete the Four. The Ruby Will Be." The party offered to donate whatever Wovenstone, Fellstone, and Aerocrystals they had on hand towards finishing the construction of their ship, so that the MS-DOS could sail into the astral sea in pursuit of the soul of the Topaz dragon in order to rebirth them using the gold Dragon egg. After departing the MS-DOS headquarters via a backdoor, the party decided to lie to the Wold Order about what they found, claiming they simply discovered another Shadow Breach.

Important Things that Happened: (As Trina would have told her handful of friends).
Trina found herself fighting Gideon, the never dying shadow, the one their last attack just pushed him back into the shadows for a fourth time. They had been tracking him around the shadow infested forests of Seglock for so long that the days turned dull and grey… Linden created sunlight in an effort to bring their spirits up, but that attracted more shadows than it dissipated.
*The one who fucking waits* himself appeared, dragging the shadows behind him. He was the scariest thing she had seen in her life and yet oddly… appealing. A creepy fascination took her over, overriding the fear that should have been there. She had felt this chilling sensation in the past, the pulsing energy of raw power so close to her. It was almost the same fearful, overwhelming and yet appealing experience to the first time she was given her powers. Trina was not the only person drawn to him like moths to flame. In fact, most of them moved closer and talked to him! They tried to communicate with a being that could only psionically infiltrate their minds and say… *fall, fall, fall*.
And she fell. Why? How could she not? This however did not end up ideally… Nope, not at all. She was dead. She was part of his shadow fungal network, not herself, but a thousand people all over the continent, people unimportant or very important who were slowly corrupted by TOWIE. Trina then saw a cavern deep in the northern mountains, that seemed to hold him there… a dark cavern full of faces on the walls and pillars holding everything up. And then she felt; a fuzzy, warm arm linking itself with her. Snowball pulled her out of the abyss.
She realized not only that she could breathe again, but also that she enjoyed the solitude of being her own person and just being alive. Trina would have to find a way to make it up to Snowball, but for the moment she was too numb to think through all of this properly. It did not help that a blond woman appeared out of nowhere talking of a city without a name being taken over by the cult of Att-Annalo. Drang said a lot of things to her, but the gist of the long discussion was that they would go and help her recover a magic key from the Manor she used to live in. (Apparently she was married in that rich family and they did not sound fun, so Trina was all too happy to even remotely inconvenience rich people).
A day later, they found themselves outside this nameless city. First of all, she had no recollection whatsoever of seeing it around Seglock. Secondly, it was protected by the shadows, and thirdly, it looked close to ruin. Whatever power held the dome of protection together, it sucked buildings from the ground, pieces of wood, stone and other materials floating eerily in the air. And at the center of this town, there was the mansion. They had a lot of long loud discussions about what to do next. The citizens of the city were under quarantine by the Cult and some of them wanted to use them like a distraction so they could sneak in. Some of them (Drang) wanted to cause chaos and destroy everything as ‘distraction’. But in the end, they decided to teleport inside and snoop around quietly for the magic item.
Well, they succeeded teleporting, but Drang made sure they would not be snooping around quietly. He decided to just cause a ruckus and bring everyone upon them in a fight. The Heart of the Protectors of the People was not so much into protecting even his companions after all. Nevertheless, they managed to subdue their enemies and start looking for the key. Nockdus however, found something way more fascinating than that. Within the fireplace was a draconic eye. It belonged to Smargag (they did fail a few times to guess correctly who he was, they are just too many dragons around lately, ok?). They did not offend him, probably because he desperately needed their help. The One that Waits is trying to take down the Gem Dragons and he is stuck in his lair. He gave Linden his location and then requested to call Durian and the Loxodon.
Well, she would have to talk with Durian soon.

Cynthia's Log
Around the winter solstice, a number of Greedy Greeners received letters, written to them individually, from Baron Faro’s estate. The letters said that “the Baron isn’t sleeping well. There are things in his house. Please help.” Always up for a chance to prove the Baron’s anti-adventurer views wrong, Cynthia agreed and traveled to the estate. She and the other adventurers found that the estate was undecorated for the holiday season and seemed dark and dingy. Upon entering, the party was greeted by Gerald, the Baron’s butler. He revealed himself as the writer of the letters and explained the situation in greater detail.
In past years, the Baron and his wife celebrated the holidays, decorating and exchanging gifts. However, the Baron’s wife died, and so he did not plan on celebrating. A week prior, the Baron awoke screaming, seeing a spectral figure looming over his bed. After that, he experienced more and more hallucinations. The furniture would be rearranged overnight, and even the staff began to see ghostly figures roaming the halls of the estate. Supposedly, one of these ghosts was Sir Jereth Leighonen, the head of the guard from when Faro was a child. The ghosts were only active at night, so the party camped out in the manor’s living room.
At night, the living room transformed into a more festive version of itself; the party managed to piece together that this was what it looked like when the Baron was a child. Spirits and skeletons emerged from the walls of the room, eventually accompanied by Sir Jereth. In the battle, Cynthia proved useful; she managed to pin Jereth to the ground, allowing her allies to attack him with ease. Before dissipating, Jereth revealed that, as a child, Faro locked him out in the cold along with the rest of the staff.
After defeating the spectres, the living room transformed again, this time becoming engulfed in flames. A giant fire elemental emerged from the fireplace, and the party once again did battle. After Cynthia took the final blow, the flames subsided and the monster dissipated, revealing the ghostly form of the Baron’s wife Genevieve. Genevieve begged the Baron not to let her death prevent him from celebrating the holidays, and warned that if he refused to help the rest of Isonhound, then the fiery visions would come true. The Baron seemed reluctantly impressed by the adventurers and agreed to treat them with more fairness going forward.

At Gammelgard, the party learns of a town rumored to be plagued by a white dragon. On arrival at the town, the townsfolk explained that the White Dragon is not a real dragon, but the dragonborn leader of some bandits that had been bullying the town out of their supplies. The adventures set a trap for the bandits. Tristam talked to the leader, using some well placed suggestion spells, and ultimately sent the charmed bandits off toward Gammalgard to turn themselves in. The adventurers tracked down the bandit's lair, where they found the Astrolabe. Arlin touched it and turned into a dragonborn. Then, a light shot out at all the adventurers, who received breath weapons. Arlin explained they are now harbringers to various dragons. A portal opened up showing Tushello, but he told the team to go away. Some Remorhaz attacked, but Tristam turned Spinel into a t-rex and they made short work of them.
12/13: We learned about different stones and how they react to each other. I ate my Gammelgard muffins—they are the best. Dippy acted weird and ran away. We went to the mines that had a shadow rift and fought some shadow demons. We sent our familiars into the rift and they saw some things, but it was mostly unhelpful. We took a bunch of the fellstone and blew up the mine to stop the shadows. I don’t think it helped much. But the fellstone was worth some good gold.
12/13: I got Gammelgard muffins again. We went to a place where a white dragon was supposed to be attacking, but it was just a low-level cult named the White Dragon. We magicked them to go back to Gammelgard and turn themselves in. We went to their hideout which had a shiney sphere. It shot weird light into us. It changed Arlin into a Dragonborn. The rest of us got dragon breath weapons and turned us into “harbringers.” I am the Harbinger of Bleucorundum the Sapphire. What does that mean? Also Tristam turned me into a T-rex and I got to chomp.

Vadath's Log: Vadath joined a group taking a job from Falgrim and the Pendergras Company. The job was to explore the northern snowy mountains. This would be the second expedition as one was done about a week prior to an almost catastrophic end. Vadath, Linden, and several others took to the skies in the Pendergras airship and made their way to the top of the mountain. Linden and Vadath both spotted a small outcrop barely visible in the snow. Though truth be told Linden saw it before Vadath. As yo not put the ship in danger Vadath used his winged boots to check out the area with Linden. He used his flaming greatsword to clear some of the snow out of the area and they found what looked like an outpost of some kind. They fastened a rope from the ship to wall so the rest of the parry could join them. As they explored they discovered a journal on a dwarven corpse. This journal described the his last days. This place was indeed a guard post for somthing called the Citadel. The journal spoke of a war agaisnt the dragon queen as well as shadow like monsters. The group decided to hold onto the journal and give it to Falgrim when the job was done. The party began to excavate the tunnel that the ancient dwarves collapsed. Before they got to far in some odd Mephits sprung from the stones and began attacking. Without much trouble the group disposed of them. As they continued to dig the roof above them gave way and more Mephits attacked. Again the group delt with them. Vadath and Drang decided to climb up the hole the Mephits came from. They eventually entered an icy cave system. Lindens magic compass seemed to be responding to some Pearl Dragon bones near by. Vadath led the group in the direction the compass was pointing. The air was bitter cold and before long they entered into the main part of the cave. What they found there was an adult white dragon and three ice elementals. Vadath flew into battle with his winged boots getting up on the dragon as fast as he could. Linden succeeded in banishing one of the ice elementals almost instantly. The white dragon clung to a pillar of ice on the ceiling of his cave. Vadath charged and attempted to stay in the dragons face. Vadath and the dragon exchanged blow after blow. The dragon would beat its wings trying to knock Vadath away and was successful a few times but each time Vadath was able to close the distance. Vadath would meet the dragons attacks with his flaming greatsword and a wide smile, for he had grown to enjoy fighting these powerful beasts. Vadath kept the dragon occupied while the parry dealt with the elementals. As the final elemental fell Vadath was on his last legs. With the elementals dealt with Corbie amd Drang, two friends from the Protectors of the People, joined the fray against the dragon. Linden healed Vadath with her magic as Drang drank a Potion of flight amd joined Vadath in the air. Corbie summoned his echo and fired several volleys of arrows at the dragon. The three companies worked together and were able to finish off the dragon. By the end of the fight the party had discovered a new dragon mark as the dragon released its life energy. They had all gained the ability to control water to an extent. The group melted free the treasures of the hoard and after much debate divided it out as fairly as possible. The journal was given to Falgrim and another dragon slain.

Session 64: The Megagame
Vadath's Log: The Asar Ogalas day in Isonhound was in full swing. Several members of the Hawks were in the Gammelgard parade that went through the whole city. When the parade concluded the Hawks mingled with the dwarves with same games. Dur'kalak started a pie eating contest while Tristram and Delphi rolled some dice. It wasn't long before all was thrown into chaos. A massive explosion was seen from the direction of the docks and the sounds of alarm bells filled the air. Vadath and those Hawks with him rushed to the scene. Upon arriving to the docks they saw a ship capsized and the area was oddly quiet. Dragon like humanoids known as Draconians apeared from the wreckage. D'Kacilius turned to Vadath and uttered "I think the Dread Flame is near.....". Before D'Kacilius could finish his sentence a massive red dragon landed on a rooftop next to them. The dragon looked at the group with hate burning in her eyes and in a low growl let out "I AM HERE!". Vadath scooped up Linden and flew into a rage at the sight of the dragon that took his family from him. Using his winged boots he closed the distance and charged recklessly at the dragon. Linden gripes with fear held onto Vadath for dear life. Vadath swung his sword a few times but only struck one blow on the beast. Linden could feel Fey energy filling the area from the Currator. Linden gripped Vadath and teleported them into a Feyline passage. Vadaths rage ended and Linden let Vadath know that had she not done that they both would have died. The Feyline the entered led them to the northern snowy mountains where they both were at previously and killed an adult white dragon. Though this fight would be much harder. As they appeared they were greated by a dire scene. Shadows filled the area and corrupted creatures were everywhere. Chief Medical Officer Ensign saw his guild leader appear and urged him to pull the leaver and free the airship from where it was at. Linden still on Vadath shoulders cast the daylight spell in an attempt to keep the shadows at bay. This spell seemed to work well. Vadath pull the leaver with Ensign releasing the ship. Vadath then flew to the tower were some dwarves were fighting off shadows and get back to the ship. Vadath couldn't leave them behind and went to grab them. As he got to them Joshua a adventurer thay fell into a shadow portal apeared from one of the shadow portals and begged for help. As he flew with the dwarves he went to try and grab Joshua. As he attempted to do so Joshua apologized and shadow burst from his mouth ripping Joshua in half. Were Joshua was lay now stood a massive shadow creature. The Demi God Silent was near by and was able to summon her pet dragon Flame to help aid those escaping. As they all boarded the ship in an attempt to escape the ships engines failed them. The fellstones corrupted the others. Those on board braced themselves for impact. As the dust settled from the crash what stood before them was a terrible and all consuming darkness. In that darkness a ruby Citadel was seen and onop of that Citadel was a obsidian Greatwyrm. Those staring into this void could all tell this monstrous Greatwyrm must be The One That Waits they have been warned was coming. The shadows begin to creep ever closer and some humanoid entities emerged. One was on horseback and challenged Vadath. Somthing seemed familiar about this warrior with skeletal wings but Vadath wouldn't find out till later on. This warrior was once Markoth now corrupted and engulfed in shadow. Vadath fell for the bait and charged at the warrior. In an instant Vadath was on the group paralyzed with black foam spilling from his mouth. His eyes rolled back in his head and he began uttering strange prayers. Linden was as always by his side and feared for both of their lives. She borrowed some of the Currators powers and instantly teleported them both to safety. Markoth reached for them in a desperate attempt to finish what he started but was to late. The pair found themselves yet again in the Feylines. Linden said she would go to Seglock to help those in that city. Vadath got a telepathic message from his friend Delphi saying Kennandra was in Sneerwell. Vadath thanked Linden and hugged her tightly not knowing if he would ever see his love again. The two parted ways and Vadath took off to Sneerwell. Vadath was greeted yet again with devastation. Sneerwell was in flames and Kennandra was burning the city to the ground. Delphi and the goblin Pot'tu were the only survivors he saw as he arrived. Vadath charged raged at the site of Kennandra and charged her yet again. Pot'tu used support magics and mischief to aid Delphi as she fought fiercely by Vadaths side. Kennandra and Vadath exchanged blows in the air. Before long the dragon reared its head back and let forth a burst of flame from he'll itself. Through blood and gritted teeth both Vadath and Delphi survived. It wasnt long before back up arrived in the form of a drow assassin named Silythm and the new Dryad Grandmuush. Kennandra was grievously wounded and flew away toward Seglock. Delphi and Vadath exchanged knowing looks and once again entered the Feylines. They reimerged in Seglock to more destruction and death. The moonwells barrier was down, Kennandra raging, and a shadow giant rampaging in the streets. Several adventurers were pinned down by the giant. Vadath charged the giant and ended it swiftly. He looked up to see the Dread Flame raining fire down on the city and vowed to himself only one of them was going to leave the city alive. Hellfire fell from the sky as the adventurers assaulted Kennandra. As the battled raged on the dragon Echamus joined the fray engaged Kennandra from above. With Echamus above her and Vadath below they had Kennandra pinned. She dug deep down and summoned strange magics and was able to heal herself. This did not deter those fighting her. Vadath stayed withing striking distance of the Red beast as Echamus took to the ground. Delphi pleaded with Wchamus to take her into the air so she could aid in the fight. Echamus while hesitant did as requested and dropped Delphi ontop of the ancient red dragon. Vadath continued to rage and land devastating blows on Kennandra. Silytham appeared yet again and landed a killer surprise attack on her, Aaravata threw her javelin of lighting, Delphi stabbed with her magic sword and Vadath cut deep with his fathers blade. The brave adventurers fought unwaveringly against the beast. Vadath called out for help from Linden as he knew she was close by in Seglock. As always when he needed her most she came to his aid. Vadath raged and fought in the air with Kennandra as Linden healed those on the ground. Vadath saw the dragon getting ready to bellow another devastating blast of hellfire. He goaded her to attack him so that she wouldn't burn Delphi to ashes. With a wicked grin she turned her head and let loose fire so hot it melted the ground beneath them. Kennandra smiled feeling that she had killed one of the adventurers that slew her son. Vadath began to fall to the ground his boots slowing his fall slightly. He closed his eyes and began to great death like an old friend. He knew he fought well and gave his all to keep his friends safe and avenge those slaughtered by Kennandra. As he fell he heard the voices of his companions called out to him amidst the roars of the raging dragon. Linden seeing Vadath on the brink of death summoned her owl familiar. The owl flew up to him and Linden channeled her deities divinity through it. This brought Vadath back from the brink of death and gave him a second wind. His eyes opened, he clenched his jaw, flexed his muscles and flew once again at his hated foe. Vadath landed two mighty blows back to back. The first one opening up a wound in Kennandras chest and the second one was Vadath driving his sword directly into her heart. The air stood still ad the life drained from the Dread Flames eyes. Kennandra had been slain. Though Vadath would not know the true cost until later. As the flames subsided the gravity of the situation was all around them. Whatever happened in the mountains had gone horribly wrong. Shadow now engulfed all of Isonhound. Sneerwell was destroyed and the Pendergras Company with it. Dur'kalak had fallen in battle and devoured by Kennandra and the Demi God Silent was seen shaking hands with the corrupted Markoth and disappearing into the shadows. The only remaining safe havens now seemed to be Seglock protected by the moonwell, Gammelgard protected by the Astrolobe, and Synara protected by 'elven magics'. Though the battle against Kennandra was won it seemed The One Who Waits had won the day. The survivors would not fall into despair though. A new coalition was rising. One that would hopefully spur all of Isonhound into action. Leaders from every faction joined together and formed the Lightsworn a coalition of all guilds and organizations dedicated to brining the light back to Isonhound.
1/21 (megagame): I went to the Pendergras factory in Sneerwell but I didn’t understand what was going on. So I took a portal back to Seglock. Echamus was going crazy again and was destroying the town. Other adventurers were saving people, but no one was going for Echamus. I used a ballista to ground him, then went over and knocked him out (crit!). The Lunarians were astounded, and we drug the unconscious Echamus over to the Moonwell where he got better. Then a lot of shadows came and killed a lot of people. I helped heal my party and take the shadows down, but it wasn’t pretty. Then I went to the Moonwell to keep it safe. It helps heal corruption and is important.

Some of the previously comatose children (thanks to hag candy) have been leaving their houses in Seglock at night. On their return, their concerned parents took them to the Moonwell to be cleansed and this behavior stopped. One child, however, had not yet returned after more than a day. The adventurers talked to the child’s parents (Kristoff and Magnolia Kristofferson) about their daughter Robin, as well as Cletus the Sellsword they hired to find her. Cletus had tracked her to the swamp and called it quits and returned. The party searched the area, finding signs the child was not quite of her own mind and left for the swamp, taking Cletus with them. In the swamp were several beasts possessed by towie, including a boar, an owl, a rabbit, and others (corrupted Pooh gang!), who were protecting the child and a lumpy mound of flesh. The mound turned out to be a young black dragon named Gharzolv, and the towie-possesed Robin was trying to feed it suspicious food. After a conversation, the party let Gharzolv go free and took Robin back to Seglock to be cleansed.
2/13: Some of the once-comatose kids have been disappearing at night. Some were cleansed of corruption by the Moonwell, but one didn’t come back. We talked to the family, who I had met before (downtime). The bounty hunter they hired wasn’t very good, but did figure out where the kid had gone. We went to the swamp and fought zombies that belch leaches again. There were a lot of weird corrupted animal dudes that were ruled by Towie (a big bad guy, I’m told). There was also a young black dragon that had been captured. Towie wants him for his purposes. But we let it go and it told us where to get nice things.

Important Things that Happened:
The party ventured into the Shadowfell-infested forests in search of a city whose name could not be remembered by anyone. As they delved deeper into the gloomy woods, they spotted the head of The One That Waits peeking out from the forest ground as the creature seemed to swim towards them. The group found themselves grappled by his shadowy tendrils, and they would need to pull out all of their tricks to escape his grasp as he crept ever closer, eager to assimilate them into his hive-mind. Some used magic to teleport away, others used brute strength to rip out of his clutches (D’Kacilius made sure to flip him off as he made his escape). The One That Waits would not give them up easily, however, even briefly charming Ona into nearly vortex warping Vessel straight into his shadowy maw before she was able to break from his trance. Any attempt to communicate with The One That Waits was met with the same word being echoed in their heads: “FALL!” This was all they could hear repeated from him until Durian attempted to read his thoughts, demanding to know “where’s Feredemius?” The One That Waits fell quiet at the mention of this name, turning with his head cocked to stare directly at Durian. Unable to tell if this expression was one of being pleased or of animosity, Durian shook his head in frustration and fled with the rest of the team.
Eventually the party came to a river where some of them heard yet another voice inside their heads, beckoning them into the river and offering them sanctuary. The voice was familiar to Durian: “…Bleucorundum? How do we know it’s really you?” She responds, “surely you don’t expect me to reveal myself?” With that, Durian waded into the river; Spinel also excitingly leapt in, eager to finally meet the Sapphire Dragon who she had been instructed by an Astrolabe to serve. The rest of the party joined in and were swept downstream into the protected underground lair of Bleucorundum, cluttered with a magnificent hoard of weapons and other such trophies of battle. Bleucorundum continued to speak to the party while remaining invisible to everyone except Durian, who had learned to see invisibility following his first near-death encounter with the Sapphire Thane. She explained how her lair was shielded from the shadows which had overrun the outside world, gesturing to a quartz-looking gem egg which Durian recognized as the one which he’d helped save nearly a year prior. Durian inquired, “is this egg one of the Keys to the Court?” Bleucorundum narrowed her eyes at him and said with a smile, “you’ve clearly been doing your research, you seem to know more than you let on.” It was funny to think that a year ago, Durian hadn’t even known what a gem dragon was before being nearly eaten by her invisible gelatinous cube.
As the rest of the team wandered around the cave in awe, Spinel attempted a heart-to-heart with the Sapphire Dragon…at least as well as one can have a heart-to-heart with a creature that cannot be seen. Asking all manner of questions about what a harbinger is and what it means that she was tasked with being Bleucorundum’s harbinger, the Sapphire did her best to draw upon ancient memories…from long bygone times when she sat in the court of Sardior. She recalled that a harbinger was a position in the court, typically held by younger gem dragons but could also be held by gem dragonborn or really any creature who possessed some trace essence of the gem dragons, tasked with taking the place of their respective gem’s court seat on occasions when their Thanes could not be present for meetings. She pondered, “it’s been so long since I’ve had a harbinger, I don’t know what I would even do with one now.”
By this point, the rest of the group began to reconvene, chiming in with their own questions about Sardior’s court. Durian asked if she has had any contact with Feredemius. She said no, but that Feredemius is a master at hiding, protecting his location by dispersing his essence amongst the Weave. Echoing what Smargarg had described prior, “I can feel Feredemius' presence...everywhere, he is still alive somewhere, somehow, in Isonhound.” She asked Durian, “you’re an emerald dragonborn, can you not sense his presence everywhere, as well?” To which he responded, “I guess, but…have you seen everywhere lately?” He then asked about Kristang the Obsidian Dragon, to which Bleucorundum began to loudly laugh. “For as much as you seem to know, it’s funny that you would still believe in a boogyman like Kristang!” He questioned why Kristang had been given a harbinger if he wasn’t real. Bleucorundum theorizes that since it had come from the Topaz Astrolabe, it was likely merely a tribute from Tushello the Topaz Dragon who had something of an obsession with Kristang. But Bleucorundum was adamant that there had only ever been five Thanes on Sardior’s court, never six. Durian insisted that, even if not Kristang, there was at least some sort of Obsidian-looking dragon terrorizing Isonhound on the surface. But Bleucorundum was entirely certain, “shadow and Obsidian are different,” and whoever The One That Waits really was had merely taken the form of a dragon as a means of intimidation and that they seemed to have a vendetta against all gem dragons for whatever reason. Durian replied how that seemed accurate, seeing how Smargarg was having a similar rough time trapped underground in his hatchery of gem dragon eggs. At the mention of there being more gem dragon eggs in danger, Bleucorundum’s face filled with surprise and worry before slowly recomposing herself; “no…Amethyst first, then we can focus on saving the hatchlings.”
She told the party that if they could arrange to rescue Smargarg and his hatchery, she would provide him sanctuary in her lair. But in the meantime, her priority was trying to locate her friend the Amethyst Thane. She described rumors of an Amethyst Dragon in a nearby city with no name that was also being protected from the shadows (presumably by one of the gem artifacts), and she offered the party shelter in her lair if they agreed to venture into this city in search of the supposed Amethyst Dragon. The team readily agreed, as the city is why they had come out there to begin with…but there was also a catch: the city had been overtaken by the cult of Att-Annalo who were keeping the city heavily guarded and under quarantine. Bleucorundum granted the party one of her Boons of Neutrality, rendering them invisible to the cultists so long as they don’t hit any of them (since Bleucorundum’s boons do not stack, Durian opted to keep his existing boon of invisibility to dragons, reassuring the group that his normal invisibility spell would be sufficient for him to avoid detection by the cultists). Additionally, both Cynthia and Durian were able to charge their Tears of Sardior with another minor Sapphire boon. So after resting off their head-on encounter with The One That Waits, the party ventured back to the shadowy surface of Isonhound in the direction of this unnamed city.
As the team made their approach, Durian imparted his knowledge about Amethyst Dragons technically being the most powerful of the gems due to their ability to manipulate time and space. Just then, they got close enough to take in full sight of the city, portions of it being torn apart and lifted upwards into the sky. Attempting to make a stealthy entrance, Ona and Durian took flight across the river to land on some rooftops while the rest of the party tried sneaking across the main bridge. The cultists were alerted to the grounded party members by the sound of clanking armor, and four of the seven posted guards turned invisible to try and engage them. Spinel attempted to avoid the invisible guards by backing up against a wall; unfortunately, one of the guards had the same idea and they immediately bumped into each other. Vessel distracted the guards by sowing some good old-fashioned infighting (“fuck you, Tommy!!”). Having a visual on the invisible guards, Durian leapt off the rooftops to try and help escort his friends through the inconspicuous chaos. Clank used his artificing to elevate himself to the rooftops. Meanwhile, Spinel flew her owl familiar overhead to cause a racket. As Durian rounded the corner to try and save the trapped D’Kacilius, the amethyst dragonborn remembered that he could climb the buildings to reach the rooftops and Durian took four direct hits of necrotic damage from the cultists. Still managing to retain his invisibility, he teleported out of that chaos and into the nearest floating building he could spot in the distance. Despite immediately recasting invisibility, he was briefly spotted by a crazed halfling known as Father Mel who immediately launched into a long villainous speech and challenged Durian to strike him down. Not being one for obvious bait, Durian chose to hide. At the first opportunity, Durian leapt from the floating building, narrowly avoiding landing on his friends as they all regrouped on the rooftops. Ona flew up to investigate the second floating building, containing an armory which she detected magic from before deciding to leave it be.
As the group checked out the third floating building, they saw a humanoid figure with dark amethyst/obsidian looking skin sitting in a trance on the bed. Ona threw a roof shingle to try and get his attention and he opened his eyes, which were pitch black. He repeatedly warned, “you shouldn’t have come here…they know you’re here…you need to leave.” The party questioned him about his Amethyst artifact as he seemed to struggle for control, but he replied that it was safe and deep underground. It was then the group realized that there was no artifact protecting this city, but rather, it was the sheer force of will from this Amethyst Dragon constantly pushing the shadows away with gravitational power. Vessel was able to determine that this Amethyst Dragon was charmed and attempted to break the hold with a protection spell, but sadly could not discern what type of magic was at play here (it was not an Abjuration spell). The group began discussing other ways of extracting the Amethyst Dragon, but he refused to leave so long as there were people in the city. Meanwhile, Father Mel discovered the rest of the party’s presence and began sounding alarms across the city.
Finally, the Amethyst Dragon lost control and transformed into his draconic form, rapidly launching the room high up into the air. Most of the group was able to bail, but Spinel got caught in the dragon’s grasp. She made many attempts to wriggle free, including biting the dragon’s tail. Seeing his friend get launched ever further into the sky and panicked by his inability to reach them, Durian casted a major image of The One That Waits to try and briefly distract the Amethyst Dragon. This would prove just barely enough assistance for Spinel to wriggle free and feather fall 120 feet from the skyward room.
Meanwhile on the ground, Cynthia cleverly kept Father Mel at bay by darting through the streets of the city and making as much noise as possible to lure him away from the rest of the team. This gave all of the party members enough opportunity to successfully escape the city and report back to Bleucorundum, confirming the whereabouts of her Amethyst friend.
-------SECONDARY ACCOUNT BY D'Kacilius Venrai:----------
We were originally travelling through the shadows to find the City with No Name (from the previous session) when we ended up meeting Towie. The darkness effect we had was “disadvantage on saving throws”, and most of us got tangled by shadowy tendrils because we failed our Dex(?) save. We were able to escape by teleporting or breaking free with a Strength check. Towie had two lair actions: the first one was basically Suggestion, which targeted Ona. She failed the save and almost Vortex Warped Vessel into Towie’s grasp, but he succeeded. I forget the other one (the person succeeded the save), but the effects were scary. We were all able to escape safely (after a couple Eldritch Blasts and flipping off Towie) cause Towie probably has 30 movespeed. Telepathically connecting with Towie just repeated a single word (“Fall”) the entire time. One interesting thing that happened was that Towie tilted their head to look towards Durian when he asked about Feredemius’ whereabouts.
We rested near a river, when some/all of us heard a voice in our head. The voice said to ride the river down to a safe area, which lead to Bleucorundum’s lair. She was invisible to everyone other than Durian (due to former events), and her lair was protected from the Shadows by her Sapphire artifact (some sort of quartz egg). We took a long rest there and got a lore dump related to the Court in exchange for figuring out the situation in the City.
Bleucorundum hasn’t had a Harbinger for years, so she doesn’t know what to do with Spinel. (Also awkward cause Spinel couldn’t see Bleucorundum during the entire heart-to-heart) She also dismissed the idea that Kristang existed or was Towie, even when Grandmush and her Harbinger status was mentioned. Kristang is apparently a boogyman to the Gem Dragons, as Bleucorundum heard stories of him during her childhood (she is old af; older than the realm according to her). Tushello was mentioned during the conversation, and Bleucorundum said Tushello had an obsession of sorts with Kristang, potentially as a lover. She said that “Shadow and Obsidian are different” and that the Court had 5 positions, not 6. Towie seems to have a vendetta against the Gem Dragons, but Bleucorundum isn’t sure what or why. Additionally, Towie may not exactly be a dragon, and could be taking this form for an unknown reason.
According to Bleucorundum, the Amethyst Greatwyrm is one of, if not the most powerful Gem Dragons (the Amethyst is stronger that Bleucorundum). Their power is related to manipulating reality and gravity. Bleucorundum wanted to prioritize the Amethyst Greatwyrm but was going to assist Smargarg and his hatchery afterwards.
There are four artifacts currently known related to the Gem Court: The Astrolabe (Tushello) in Gammelgard, the Moonwell (Eros) in Seglock, the Emerald Blade (Feredemius) which is currently unknown (it was recovered during the session on the 26th, but the NPC apparently didn’t return and will be a part of a session on the 19th), and Bleucorundum’s Sapphire egg (currently in her lair).
Before leaving, we all received a boon that would make us invisible to Att-Annalo and their cultists. Durian did not take it, since he already had a boon that made him invisible to dragons instead and boons cannot stack (he used Invisibility instead). The boons drop if the person with the boon hurts whoever cannot see them (aka hit cultist = visible to cultists again). The City was more guarded (thanks to Group 1’s shenanigans), with three buildings near the center of the city floating in the air. When we entered, we accidentally alerted some of the guards due to noisy armor (stealth checks were low). Some of the guards turned invisible, and Spinel accidentally bumped into an invisible guard (both thought to stick to the wall against invisible enemies). We were able to distract and dodge the guards to escape (with some damage from blind spellcasting).
After reconvening on a rooftop, Durian Dimension Doored into one of the buildings and found Father Mel, who noticed him (due to the short period of time where Invisibility drops when you cast a spell). Ona flew to another building and cast Detect Magic to find out the armory had some animated armor and weapons. In the third building, there was a strange humanoid (The Amethyst Greatwyrm) that seemed to meditate on a bed. After getting their attention by throwing a shingle, the Greatwyrm opened their eyes and warned us that Att-Annalo and/or Towie knew we were here. Father Mel also was able to slightly detect us (we rolled low on stealth) and started sounding alarms. I teleported Vessel over to the Greatwyrm (and hit some cultists because we took too long, dropping my boon), and we unsuccessfully tried to dispel Towie’s control. The Greatwyrm was holding the shadows back by sheer will, and they were unwilling to leave because there were still people in the city. We tried Protection from Good and Evil (apparently abjurations were not involved), Dispel Magic (failed), and Suggestion (failed). The Greatwyrm then transformed and started bringing the building upwards (with Vessel, Spinel, Ona, and myself still inside). Ona flew out and Vortex Warped me out while Vessel Misty Stepped away. Spinel tried to escape as well, but the Greatwyrm grappled with an opportunity attack. She was able to escape after five rolls (with a Nat 20). The rest of us were able to distract and escape the City.
Third account from Spinel
2/28: Towie found us while traveling and it wasn’t pretty. Ona got mind-addled and I bit her to try to get her to wake up. We ran away. We found a river and heard a voice that said it was Bleucorundum. I followed the voice! She led us to her lair, where we healed up. There were interesting images of war and battle on the walls. I would like to study them more. I couldn’t see her, but we had a nice chat. I asked her what it meant to be a harbinger, and she said it was a from long ago. Without the court, it has no meaning. BlueC seems good. I would like to help her.
She told us about another dragon in a town with a name no one remembers. She gave us a boon so we were invisible to the cult members there. We tried to sneak in, but I ran into an invisible person and ran away. We found a crazy halfling cult leader and left him be. Then we found the amethyst dragon we were looking for. The dragon said they were corrupted by Towie, but not to save them. If we saved them, they couldn’t protect the townspeople from the shadows. We were conflicted but overpowered. I was grabbed by the dragon and the building started to rise. I tried and tried and tried to get out. Finally, FINALLY managed to beak the grapple and jump. I am not made to fly, but I’m sure glad I learned feather fall. Ona was there to help me too. We ran so hard away from that place.
Session ??: Sro and Steady
Characters: Trina, Draennac, Omen, Vero, Dug, Herneldo
DM: James (3/9)
Dragons Encountered: The One That Waits, Bleucorundum, Sro
XP Gained: 1630 each
Important Things that Happened:
The Wold Order recruited several adventurers to ferry Sro and his hoard to safety at Bleucorundum's lair. Though the party was overwhelmed with apathy due to the shadows overtaking Isonhound, they were successful in their efforts. Their two week journey started with the encounter of travelling performers overtaken by the Shadow, but the hero's charm spells were able to release Towie's hold on them. Dug the Grung was able to fashion a boat with his prowess in carpentry, which allowed the party to quickly arrive at their first abandoned town, Biannal. No threats were present at the time save for a group of bandits, which the party was able to avoid fighting via some diplomacy. Further along their journey, they found an untouched stall of moonflowers in the town of Tsojcanth. Oddly, the flowers seemed untouched by the surrounding Shadows and seemed to have a purifying effect on the area. Vero noted that they had a medicinal and burning flavor, along with a delicate crunch. The party realized that they didn't actually know where Bleucorundum's lair was shortly after reaching Tsojcanth, so they began to search the surrounding areas for cave systems and maps. They made a short visit to Jicalla, another safe but abandoned town which had a well-stocked general store, which the party raided to restock supplies. Their last encounter in the wilderness was with an enchanted spell book, which was grappled by Trina and Dug and dispelled by Draennac. A few pages were salvageable from the reformed tome, with the most notable spell acquired by the party being Scale Rot. This incantation has a special effect on dragons, but is useful against any armored creature. After much wandering and Towie passing within mere miles of the party during the night, they finally arrived at Bleucorundum's lair, which lies under the river neighboring Tsojcanth. Sro expressed his gratitude to the party by allowing them to keep whatever piles of silver they had managed to carry from his hoard.
Session ??: Finale: The Tale of Fist and Fury
Characters: Herneldo, Cecil, Spinel, Ulka, Thuchor, Stan
DM: James (4/13)
Dragons Encountered: n/a
XP Gained: 3500 each
Important Things that Happened:
As the shadows receded from Isonhound, the delayed finale of the Tournament of Fist and Fury was back on. Adventurers and citizens from around the continent gather together to rekindle their spirits. As hype for the finale an exhibition 6v6 cash grab torment was held. Teams in the cash grab tournament included 3 members in the ring, a Coach, a Promoter and a Cutman (who offers healing and other support to the team). Dedicated healers were on hand to revive and aid any participants who might need healing. A team of Greedy Green adventures entered under the team name Cecil’s Mercenaries. The team included Ulka, Spinel, and Cecil in the ring, Stan as Coach, Herneldo as Cutman, and Thucher as Promotor.
Other entrants in the cash grab tournament include the Cat’s Meow, a team of tabaxi; Plunder and Poke, a team of pirates; Thunder and Smoke, a team of dwarven artificers; the Hybrids, a team of minotaur-mermaid pirates that ultimately just looked like humans; the Lead Pigeons, a team of green-looking adventurers who originally entered as the Iron Hawks but changed their name when they were called out for not being members; the Influemancers, a team of wizards interested in elevating their standing; and Chef’s Surprise, a team of culinary-minded individuals.
In the first round, Cecil’s Mercenaries beat the Cat’s Meow, the Hybrids beat Plunder and Poke, Thunder and Smoke beat the Lead Pigeons, and Chef’s Surprise beat the Influmancers. A rumor then surfaced (encouraged by Thuchor) that one of the hybrids was, in fact, just a human. It turned out that this was true (parents were a farmer and fisherperson), but it was deemed that misrepresenting who you are is not grounds for disqualification for the tournament, and in fact may be a viable strategy.
In the quarterfinals, Cecil’s Mercs beat the Hybrids and Chef’s Surprise beat Thunder and Smoke. A member of Chef’s Surprise—a warlock named Paula Doom—went down hard in the quarterfinals and should have been out for a few days. Stan’s owl familiar followed Chef’s Surprise to gauge her replacement and discovered that Paula Doom appeared strangely ready to go to the finals. Additional, they discovered that Bobby Slay was shrouded in illusion and was, in fact, a shifter.
In the epic finale, Cecil’s Mercs took on Chef’s Surprise. In addition to Paula Doom, in the ring for Chef’s Surprise were Bobby Slay and Guy Fury. In the center of the ring was a giant pile of coins, which could be added to the victor’s purse. When touched, however, the coins turned into a loot golem. Damage to the golem reduced its gold-coin hit-point counter and added the coins to the participant’s totals. In a shocking turn of events, however, Paula Doom turned into Gozen Devakilla, a dastardly Oni mercenary from Ulka’s past. Ulka made quick work of Gozen, smashing in his skull, and this became the first and only full-on permakill without resurrection in the tournament to this day.
Meanwhile Bobby Slay also dropped an illusion and revealed himself as the shifter Cobalt, a person of interest from Spinel’s past. There was some hesitancy to Cobalt’s blows, and Spinel and Ulka quickly brought his health to critical levels. Ultimately, a spell from Cecil—aided by Spinel’s Oroboros ring to become a critical hit—took down Cobalt.
Spinel and Cobalt shared some fiery words (a precursor to a serious heart-to-heart at the bar, no doubt). And of course Cecil’s Mercs made off with a tidy sum of money, in no small part due to Stan’s working the system and investigating teams between match’s, Thuchor’s rumors, and Herneldo’s investigations and support.
4/13: I have been fighting in the Tournament of Fist and Fury but lost in the quarterfinals. I went to the finals to see who would win and found some adventurers to team up with for the exhibition cash grab tournament. We fought a bunch of tabaxi and then some hybrids. Then we fought a team called Chef’s Surprise, but one of the members was actually Cobalt. He wasn’t sure if he wanted to fight me, but we were in a tournament and I was mad at him so I didn’t hold back. I helped Cecil take him out so our team won.
I asked Cobalt hard questions. He said he had to leave to help the world or he would be drawn to me and never be able to leave. He said he couldn’t take me with him because he didn’t want me to get hurt. He said he wanted to be a champion to impress me. But even though I didn’t win the main tournament, I have something better. I am a real hero and I have helped a lot of people. I am a harbinger and I know my worth. We need to talk more, but the world is too crazy right now.
(PS also helped friend Ulka get her revenge.)
Finale Megagame
4/23 (megagame): Taking a brief rest on the mountaintops. This has not gone as planned. Bleucorundum has not appeared, so I have taken necessary steps so the ceremony can be completed. I know my guildmate Delphi and former guildmate Durian are doing the same. I discussed this possibility with Cobalt last night and he was not happy. It is unfortunate we cannot spend more time together after so many months of misunderstanding. But I have found purpose in fighting to protect Isonhound and in being a harbinger, and if my death can bring back Sardior, then it must be so. As I write, we are getting desperate. TOWIE took the form of Bleucorundum and took the corundum egg. He was so convincing! And we were so tired from his previous attacks. But Vadeth's ring might be the answer. I will make one final plea to my guild leader to see if we can get this done. I hope Bleucorundum is proud of me.
